The rules you created for Harry having surviving the killing curse are flawed. Lets break it down: 1. One must be offered a chance to survive/live. 2 the person given the chance to live refuses and sacrifices themselves for the one they wish to save. by doing so, a protection is erected that prevents the perpetrator from harming the one with the protection.
Now to counter the points
1. How did Lily now that she would be given the choice to live? How did Dumbledore know that Lily was given the chance to live
2. Eve when Lily was given the chance to live, she couldn't have performed the sacrificial protection charm within a short period of time unless she prepared it beforehand which she would have n reason to do.
3. And if you say the magic is instinctive, then how many other people have Voldemort given the chance to live that they refused to protect a love one but the magic didn't kick in?
4. And above all, how did Dumbledore know everything that went on in that house?

I am enjoying this story very much. I feel sorry for Remus who must be racked with grief and guilt. I'd love for him to be brought into the fold. I know it would be hard to explain him ever leaving the search for Harry and even more difficult for him to carry on the pretense of looking for Harry if he knew the truth. There is one opening I think. Lupin is a French family by origin, I believe. It would not be a completely unbelievable tale for him to have an inheritance that he needed to leave England to tend to. Nicholas, with his contacts, could make it all legitimate on paper. Just throwing that out there. Remus was always a wise, pure soul of honor. He could fill in gaps for Harry that only one other person could. Hope to see something more soon. Have fun!

The story interests me but are these new people that took in Harry how powerful are they because the person that is after Harry is Voldermort, and he is pretty powerful himself because Albus is considered one of the strongest magicians in history.

THis story is interesting because I don't read many Harry Potter stories because the genre doesn't excite me but this story isn't bad at all. I wish I can brush on my French with this chapter because I am very rusty at it because I don't use it as much, and I can use a refresher course on it.
I don't know if you normally read other stories but since we are talking about Harry Potter I found this incredible crossover featuring him as the Main character with Avengers called "My son the Wizard", and it is really a great story go check it out.

Interesting Story... I like the flow as of now along with your time skip plan... atleast you have kept it realistic till now... The OC's are properly developed (till now) as well so its actually turning out to be a very interesting read... keep up the good work
