Your summary had me curious, but the the sheer talent and emotion that went into writing this story hooked my attention and refuses to let go. And now I eagerly press on to immerse myself in this fantastic once again and finish what I have started.

Being DKLC's husband *is* is fate worse than death, just ask the former Mr DKLC ;-)
Slipping Miranda into Shepard's place in Garrus' personal mission was a good idea. Very smooth, Miri, very smooth.
Shepard did well not to punch Khalisa in the face. It really takes me a lot of self control not to do that, it's just so damn satisfying. The scene between Tali and Shepard was nice, and it was cool to see it from Tali's perspective, to see the way she really sees Vicky.
The high point of this chapter for me was one of the final lines, referring to my favourite girl in the galaxy. "Today marks another failure, one more point in her life that she can call completely her own." Oh looooords my heart lurched at that. Great characterisation! Poor Miranda.

Happy to see the reunion. I wonder where you'll go from here!
I didn't even notice the Miranda/Garrus tag on this until just now. Very unusual choice of pairing. I quite like it. I like femslash just as much as the next person, but it does get a little bit overdone when people feel the need to fill a story with it. Like, just because somebody's writing a Liara/Shepard story, doesn't mean that suddenly Jack/Miranda and Ashley/Traynor need to all be randomly paired. There are some pretty cool male characters in ME, and its okay to depict straight couplings too. So in short, Garrus/Miranda - I approve. Interested to see what you do with it.
Thank you again for another shot out. I am recently single, so if you're not careful, I'll have to make you my new husband ;-) I haven't tried the others, but I love If You Were Mine too! Elm is very imaginative!
