Oh well, I'm the type of guy who will never settle down
Where pretty girls are, well you know that I'm around
I kiss 'em and I love 'em cause to me they're all the same
I hug 'em and I squeeze 'em they don't even know my name
They call me the wanderer
Yeah, the wanderer
I roam around, around, around
The song echoed through the TARDIS as Dante danced around the console, flipping the occasional switch or lever. Having been bored with hanging around UNIT and nothing happening with Torchwood, he decided to just hit the random button and see where the ship takes him.
He was caught up in the music until it stopped all of a sudden and was replaced with the sound of a bell.
BONG BONG BONG
Raising his head up, he walked over to where the screen was and checked the readings.
"Let's see here. Destination: Earth. Year: 2161. Environment: Radioactive?"
Double checking to see he read that right, he then typed in commands to turn on the scanner. The picture on the screen switched from a desktop background to exterior camera footage. Outside was a desert, but a few feet away were five figures. A woman with green hair and a mohawk, a bald man with ginger mutton chops, another man with a black leather jacket and long black hair and a black labrador. But the fifth figure wore a lightly armored blue and yellow jumpsuit, and Dante could vaguely see the number thirteen on the neck of the suit.
The hybrid could do nothing but gape, turning away from the screen before turning back to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
"No way. Just...of all places...here? Now?" Looking back at the screen, he could see the five making their approach, the jumpsuited person in front. This got Dante in a panic as he quickly switched on the dematerialization circuit, making the box disappear in front of them and the footage being cut and switching back to the desktop.
"Phew, that was close. Still…" He mused to himself. Sure he didn't know exactly what could happen with the five or the descendant of the jumpsuited person, but what he does know is what would occur forty to fifty years later east of California. In D.C., the Mojave and Boston, three people would emerge and solidify themselves as legends. A Wanderer, a Courier and a Survivor. These three could build up or destroy the remnants of humanity and destroy or join those seek to stamp it out. Too many possibilities, too many outcomes, too many…
"Constants and variables." Dante said aloud as a wave of sadness hit him. Those exact words used by someone he once cherished. Someone he lost because...she left. She left because she needed to. Cause she wanted to. Well...this time...this time it'll be different.
"It will be different. In fact," He started pushing buttons and flipping switches, "no TARDIS for the majority of the trip. This time," He'd gotten over to the vortex handle and flipped it down, sending the TARDIS to its destination. "I'm staying."
As he sat down, awaiting the oncoming venture ahead of him, he started singing a little song.
I don't want to set the world on fire~
