A/N: OK, first off, I do not own Jesus Christ Superstar - it belongs to ALW, Tim Rice etc. Secondly, I am not religious, and this is merely a fanfiction of one of my favourite musicals, nothing more. If you are going to review, please do not hammer me for not sticking to the Bible, or whatever.

Anne is my creation, and this is based around the 2000 film version of JCS with Glenn Carter as Jesus, and Jérôme Pradon as Judas. In my oppinion, this is the best version I have seen, and Jérôme Pradon was just phenomenal as Judas. The whole film was wonderfully directed and acted.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it :-)

Anne knew the bond between Judas and Jesus. She knew how much Judas cared for Jesus, and knew immediately he came to see her a couple of days ago that tensions were rising. She knew about the rising popularity of Jesus, and how Judas beleived that he was not sticking to his original ideals, and showing that by being seen with Mary.

She was not married to Judas, no. But they went a long way back, growing up together as children. He would always come to her, whenever something troubled him, and she would always be there to listen. Usually it was little things - mainly his worry about the poor. Lately however, every time he came to see her, the bags under his eyes were darker.

It had been a couple of weeks since she had last seen him, when out walking, she saw a figure hunched against a wall, holding a draw-string pouch in its hands. As she approached, the figure turned it's head. Judas. She walked faster when she saw the glint of tears in his eyes. She sat down next to him.

"I had no choice, Anne" he whispered. This had Anne worried. He sounded so...defeated.

"He doesnt know what he's doing any more. He's off with that.. that...Mary again, all the time. He won't listen to me any more. He only listens to her now." He looked at Anne, the tears falling freely now. "I had to do it. Please believe me."

Anne took his hand.

"What did you do?" she asked gently. His reply was so quiet she nearly missed it.

"I sold him out." It was as if the act of telling Anne made Judas realise what he had done, and a sob burst from him. "I sold him out Anne. My best friend! Oh God! What have I done..." His words were lost to his sobs, and Anne drew him towards her, wrapping her arms around his violently shaking body, rocking him gently, trying to calm him. In all her life, she had never seen Judas so broken. Not even the death of his parents did this to him. Yes, he was upset, but not so distraught and broken as he was now. Anne held him tighter.

"I'm damned, Anne. Damned."

"No. Don't say that Judas. Never say that." Tried to stop her tears, but those last words affected her more than anything Judas previously said. Judas drew away from her slightly, and wiped her tears away with his thumb.

"For all time" he whispered.

So...thats the first chapter. I hope you enjoyed it. Please review/subscribe if you so wish. Criticism is welcome, but please no angry tirades...
