Hi guys! Sorry it took longer than usual to update. I went home for the musical at my brother's high school (he was in the pit orchestra) and didn't have my computer with me then. I'm sad to say that this is the second last chapter. I'm going to miss this story so, so much. I am going to do a Season 6 though, so if you have any questions about that, feel free to ask me on the Tumblr for this story and its sequel (finchelseason5). Enjoy and review if you want me to keep writing!

Chapter 59: Home As A Married Couple

With Finn and Rachel both gone, the New Yorkers who were still in town had been spending lots of time in the apartment that Finn and Rachel shared with Kurt, Blaine and Santana. Sam and Artie were sharing one room in the apartment down the hall, and Mercedes and Tina were sharing the other. Finn and Rachel were expected back today, but right now, everyone was at the three-bedroom apartment, working to finish the centerpieces for the tables at Kurt and Blaine's wedding. Well, Kurt and the girls were working on the centerpieces. Blaine, Sam and Artie were playing xbox.

"So, I was trolling around Facebook the other day," Santana said. "Guess who's going to be at NYADA in the fall?"

"Tell us," Kurt said.

"Sebastian," Santana said.

"Ugh," Kurt groaned.

Blaine looked over from the xbox game. "Imagine how he's going to react when he finds out that we're married."

"You know, I'm excited to see the look on his face when he finds that out," Kurt said.

"So, you'll have both Sebastian and Harmony at NYADA next year?" Sam asked.

"Guess so," Blaine said. "Ohio will be well represented.

"Finn and Rachel should be home soon, shouldn't they?" Tina asked.

"Yeah, they should," Artie said. "So, Kitty tells me New Directions will be singing Can't Help Falling In Love with you as the wedding prelude."

"Yes they are," Blaine said. "And then since we sang for their first dance, Finn and Rachel will be singing for ours."

"I am working on my best man speech," Sam said. "I'm trying to fit in some impressions."

"Of course you are," Tina teased. Everyone was glad that the breakup between Sam and Tina hadn't been a bad one and that she was still here in New York. Seeing Mike again had definitely helped with that.

The group heard the door unlock and open as Finn and Rachel came in. "Look who's home!" Sam declared.

Rachel smiled. "Hey guys!"

"Wow, you two got tan," Santana said. "So how was the beach?"

"Best week ever!" Finn declared. "We went swimming and jumping waves and building sandcastles at the beach every day, and we went to the lighthouses and the aquarium and the Lost Colony, and we played Putt Putt and went to a small amusement park, and we even went to swim with dolphins!"

Rachel smiled. "Finn, you forgot something."

"What did he forget?" Artie asked.

"We got tattoos!" Rachel announced.

Everyone looked surprised. "Wow," Mercedes said. "Out of all our friends, I wouldn't expect you two to be the first to get tattoos."

"Yeah, we did," Finn said. He pulled up his shirt, revealing his tattoo.

"Ooooh!" Tina said. "Rachel, show us yours!"

Rachel pulled up her shirt. "It's the same as his."

"Did they hurt?" Sam asked.

"They did a little," Finn admitted. "I'm glad we did it though."

"So, what have you guys been up to while we were gone?" Rachel asked.

"Mostly just putting the finishing touches on Kurt and Blaine's wedding," Mercedes said.

"And we got some news about NYADA," Kurt said. "Sebastian's going to be there in the fall."

"If he tries to go anywhere near Blaine, I'll kick his ass," Rachel said.

"When did Rachel Berry become a badass?" Artie asked.

"Rachel Hudson," Finn said, kissing Rachel on the head.

"It is nice to be home," Finn said, as he and Rachel got ready for bed that night.

"It is," Rachel said. "I had a great time at the beach with you, but it feels really good to be at home, with our friends."

"That was only the first of many vacations we took together as a married couple," Finn said. "There's going to be more to come."

"I know, and I can't wait for them," Rachel said.

"It's kind of weird when you think about it," Finn said. "In a way, our first vacation we ever took together was to New York, and now we're living here together."

"I know," Rachel said. "I'd be happy living anywhere with you, but I'm so glad we're in New York."

"I love it here," Finn said. "It's so much better than Lima."

"You think so?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah," Finn said. "There's so much to do here and the scenery is amazing."

"I think so, too," Rachel said. "I was worried you wouldn't like it here."

"I think I just needed to know that," Finn said. "I was afraid to realize that but once I got here I realized I don't belong anywhere else."

"It's been one hell of a year," Rachel said. "I'm so proud of you."

"Really?" Finn asked.

"You went through so much, but you never let it take over you," Rachel said. "You never let Lucy or Brody or Jesse win."

Finn gave Rachel a kiss. "Yeah, but the bad was balanced out by all the good."

"Do you ever think about it?" Rachel asked Finn.

"Think about what?" Finn asked.

"You know, everything that happened this year," Rachel said. "What Lucy did to you, what Brody and Jesse did to all of us..."

Had Finn thought about those things? Of course. It was pretty hard not to after going through things like that. However, he did try his hardest not to. His therapist had said that he'd come a long way. He hadn't had a nightmare in months and he never got nervous about going places alone anymore. "Yeah, sometimes. But I'm recovering."

"I just feel bad sometimes," Rachel said. "I worry that I didn't do enough to protect you."

"Please don't be so hard on yourself," Finn told Rachel. "You did so much for me this year."

"I love you so much," Rachel said.

"I love you too," Finn said.

Back at rehearsal the next day, Rachel couldn't stop thinking about her conversation with Finn the previous night. It was true that the first year away from home had its challenges for everyone, but Finn's challenges from this year were things no one should have had to go through. He was doing better, but Rachel did worry about him a lot.

"So, how was your honeymoon?" Taylor asked, coming over to Rachel and interrupting her thoughts.

"It was great!" Rachel said. "I love being married."

"Well, Marissa had to call off one day this week, so you would have done it, but since you were on your honeymoon, I did it," Taylor said.

In the past, not being able to perform would have been devastating to Rachel, but she was glad she'd been on her honeymoon. "I bet you were great."

"It was a lot of fun," Taylor said. "I'm sure you'll get to do it again though. You did do it once before."

"Yeah," Rachel said. "And hopefully Finn won't be sick next time I perform."

"I'm sure he'd love to see his wife on Broadway!" Taylor said.

Rachel smiled. "I love hearing myself referred to as Finn's wife. Thanks for coming to the wedding."

After rehearsal, Rachel had still been thinking about Finn, and she felt like there was something she had to do. She had to go confront Lucy, Brody and Jesse. Doing this had been in the back of her mind all year, but now she felt like she just had to do it. Nervously, she took a bus to the prison and told the warden who she was there to see. The warden led her to Lucy's cell first.

"Well, well, look who's here," Lucy sneered.

"Oh, don't give me that crap," Rachel said.

"Where's Finn?" Lucy asked.

Rachel held up her ring finger. "He's at our apartment."

Lucy looked at Rachel's finger. "Is that what I think it is?"

"Yes," Rachel said. "It is. Finn and I got married."

"Really?" Lucy asked. "Finn deserves so much better than someone like you."

Rachel tried to hold in her anger. "Like you, perhaps?"

"Yeah," Lucy said. "Like me."

Rachel tried to resist the urge to scream. She was already in a jail and she felt uncomfortable anyway. But she knew this was something she had to do. She had to let the people who'd caused her and the people she cared about so much pain that what they'd done was not okay. "Why would Finn want to be with a woman who gave him nightmares and touched him in ways that he didn't want to be touched?"

"Well..." Lucy began. "He's so handsome."

"Well, that's where we agree," Rachel said. "Look, I didn't come here to play around with you. What you did was wrong. And I just want to let you know that even when you're out of here, you are not to go anywhere near my husband." She gave the woman who'd hurt her husband an icy glare. "Am I clear?"

When Lucy didn't say anything, Rachel decided that she'd made her point. This had been harder than she thought that it would be, but she still felt like this was something she needed to do. She'd made her pont though, so she just turned around to go to the part of the prison where she'd been told Jesse and Brody were, hoping she'd have better luck there.

Brody and Jesse were sharing a cell. "Well hello Rachel," Brody said as Rachel arrived.

"Hello Jesse," Rachel said. "Hello Brody."

"We were wondering when you'd be coming," Brody said.

Rachel decided to jump straight to it. "Why?"

"Why what?" Jesse asked.

"Why did you do that to us?" Rachel asked. "Why did you break into our apartment and steal everything we owned?"

Jesse and Brody both sat there in silence. It was clear that Rachel's question had caught them off guard.

"You can't think of an answer for me, can you?" Rachel asked.

"Well..." Jesse began. "You did reject both of us."

"That's why you broke into my apartment?" Rachel asked. "Why you stole everything we own? You could have just looked for another girl. If you break into my apartment and hurt me and people I care about, you clearly don't like me that much." All she wanted was an apology. She looked into the cell, hoping she'd get what she hadn't gotten from Lucy. "Anything you need to say to me?"

Jesse and Brody exchanged a look. "No," Brody said.

"Okay then," Rachel said. As the warden led her away, she couldn't stop thinking about how let down she felt. She'd always believed deep down that everyone had some good in them. But for none of these people to even apologize for what had happened? Rachel felt horrible.

Rachel sat down in the warden's office. "Are you okay?" the warden asked.

"Yeah, I'll be okay," Rachel said. "I just need a minute." Seeing the three people who had wronged her and her husband most of all had taken its toll on her, especially since she hadn't gotten what she came here for.

"Do you want me to call someone to get home with you?" the warden asked. "You don't look like you're in the right state of mind to get home by yourself. I can call a police car to take you home if you want."

"Yeah," Rachel said. "Could you call my husband?" She wrote Finn's number on a post-it for the warden.

"Of course." The warden called Finn, and a little while later, Finn came into the office. "Rach..."

Rachel jumped up and ran into Finn's arms. "Finn..."

"What are you doing here?" Finn asked.

"It's just..." Rachel began. "Talking with you last night about everything that happened, it made me wonder about why all of it happened, and if they feel any sense of remorse or regret. But it's clear that they don't. Finn... I just always thought that everyone was good deep down... but maybe not everyone is."

"Rachel, when I heard you were here, I was so worried," Finn said. "Jail is dangerous. You could have gotten hurt."

"I felt like I needed answers," Rachel admitted. "I was hoping that this would make them feel bad about everything and that they'd apologize..."

"My therapist told me that what's important isn't what we get from them, but what we get from ourselves," Finn said. "Isn't how far I've come more important to you? Or the fact that now we're in a much nicer apartment in a much nicer part of town?"

Rachel realized that Finn was right. Coming here had been a mistake. "Yeah, you're right."

Finn pulled Rachel closer and began rubbing her back. "I was so worried when I got a call that you were here... I was worried you'd get hurt."

"I'm sorry," Rachel said. "You were right. I shouldn't have done this. I guess I was thinking about it too much after our conversation last night."

"We shouldn't let Lucy or the burglary define our year," Finn said. "We got married, Kurt and Blaine are getting married, we're together in the best city on Earth with lots of our best friends, we've made some awesome new friends, you're a Funny Girl understudy, we've been doing well in school, I'm going to be leading a glee club, you've finally got a great relationship with your mom and sister, and we're happy. That's more important, right?"

Rachel smiled. "Yeah, that's more important."

"What do you say we go home now?" Finn asked.

"Yeah, that sounds good," Rachel said. She took Finn's hand as they walked back to the apartment. "Can you please not tell our friends about what I did today?"

"Of course," Finn said.

When Finn and Rachel arrived back at the apartment, their friends were all there, folding programs for Kurt and Blaine's wedding. "Good thing you guys are here," Blaine said. "Kurt printed so many programs for the wedding and we could use some help."

Rachel sat down. "Of course." She picked up a pile of the printed programs and began folding them. "My maid of honor speech is coming along," she revealed.

"Oh, I look forward to it," Kurt said.

"Rachel and I still need to get around to writing the thank you notes for all our wedding gifts," Finn said.

"I know," Rachel said.

"I can't believe Coach Sylvester wore white to your wedding!" Santana said.

"Hey, at least it was a white tracksuit, not a white dress," Rachel admitted.

"True," Santana admitted. "But hey, I'm sure the best gift was the one the girls and I gave you at your bachelorette party."

"She looked pretty hot in it!" Finn declared.

Rachel gave Finn a playful slap. "Finn!"

"So, I'm guessing you used our gift on the honeymoon, too?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, we took full advantage of the gifts," Finn said.

"What are you getting us for OUR honeymoon?" Blaine asked.

"You'll have to wait and see!" Finn teased.

Before anyone had a chance to say anything else, the group heard a knock on the apartment door. Mercedes went to the door and opened it, letting Puck and Quinn in.

"Hey guys!" Rachel said, looking up from folding programs.

"Hey!" Quinn said. "We came in for the day to visit Beth, so we thought we'd stop by here, too."

"So, how was the honeymoon?" Puck asked.

"Finn and Rachel got tattoos!" Santana blurted out.

"Really?" Puck asked Finn. "You got a tattoo before I did?"

"Guess so," Finn said as he and Rachel revealed their tattoos.

"Wow," Quinn said. "I didn't think you two would get tattoos."

"It was a spur of the moment thing, but I'm glad we did it," Finn said.

"Yeah, me too," Rachel agreed.

"So, getting ready for the next wedding?" Puck asked.

"Yeah, we're getting the programs ready," Kurt said. "Want to help?"

"Sure," Quinn said as she sat down.

"Your wedding is going to be the best day of your life," Rachel told Kurt. "It's just going to be so amazing."

"Yeah, I can't wait," Kurt said. "I've wanted to marry Blaine for so long and I'm so happy it's finally here."

"That's how I felt too," Rachel said. "And now that we're married... it's just amazing." Rachel realized that what Finn had said to her earlier was true. Even if the people who had hurt them wouldn't apologize, what mattered more was that Finn and Rachel were in a better place in their lives than they'd ever been. As far as Rachel was concerned, they'd won.
