Origami

He would fold more than a thousand flowers for her, if that is the count of days she sleeps for recovery. After the last, she would wake to more than a hundred hues of paper petals, all surfaces coloured by the scattered blossoms.

Within every flower of blue-tinted white paper would be one character of a haiku, unknown by her. The hidden words would only be seen by some chance of fate, maybe a flower would fall or be opened by another, and she would see.

She would take the flowers together into order to read the unspoken poem. And maybe she would then smile, even slightly, for at last starting to learn there is life beyond betrayal. Know, for more than all the years she knew Aizen, he has... felt...

The lieutenant of the division of despair listens to the sound of paper shredding for his fingertips. Eyes shut to be shielded from the tear in soft blue.

A gentle sigh of breath heralds Kira rising from the chair by her bedside, still holding to the petals torn apart by either misfortune or his own choice. It is the act of the soulless shinigami who wielded his sword of punishment and repentance against Hinamori.

It is the first and last origami flower, paper pale blue, which is left in two halves by the bed of the broken, suffering goddess of death. He leaves her in their world that has withered away to whiteness.

Written swiftly on inspiration, even if Bleach is beyond this time. Take Kira's feelings as friendship, one-sided or otherwise, however you wish. I imagine Kira as a melancholy romantic, hence the flowery description (partial pun fully intended). I hope you enjoyed reading.
