Jack rolled over, his sleeping form twitching in the dim lighting in the room. He whimpered as sweat beaded on his brow, his hands clutching at the sheets in desperation.

Not him! You can take me, take anyone, just not Him!

Ianto, stay with me! Ianto stay with me,stay with me please!

I love you...

Don't.

A thousand years time, you won't remember me...

Ianto? Ianto wake up? Ianto please!

Jack shot up in his bed, sweat pouring down his face, his chest sticking to the sheets.

The pale Captain ran his hands down his face, his chest heaving in shaky breaths.

Ianto was his life, even Torchwood could not replace him. And now he was gone.

Once upon a time I was falling in love...

They were happy, they went on dates, he met the family, and they played naked hide and seek.

They laughed, smiled, joked, and kissed. They made love, and they were in love.

Now I'm only falling apart...

But then it went to hell. The 456 invaded, and it all went by so fast. He never had time to really talk to Ianto.

Nothing I can do, a total eclipse o the heart...

Once upon a time there was light in my life...

Now there's only love in the dark...

Nothing I can say, total eclipse of the heart...

He was gone. And he wasn't coming back.

He had nothing left.

His sobbing increased, and he didn't notice that someone had entered the room, until their arms had wrapped around him.

"Shhhh lad, it's ok Captain... It's ok... I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."

Jack turned his face into the Doctor's chest and sobbed into his shirt, while the Time Lord ran his hands through the older mans hair. Jack sobbed his heart out until he fell asleep, and the time lord laid his friend down onto his bed and tucked him in.

Jack was wrong, the Time Lord thought as he stared at his longest friend.

He had his friends left, and together, they would heal the Captain, and make sure he remembered.
