"I know June usually wins the best, so why does Jason keep taking them?" Tim asked, snickering. Jason glared, but changed the subject.
"At least he can ask her at the beach, instead of his study."
"That's true, but at least we are going to the beach tomorrow. I didn't even know." Dick said. Everyone nodded.
"Well I'm going back upstairs. Anyone want to join?" Caitlin said as she walked towards the elevator. The girls looked at each other and followed Caitlin towards the elevator. June broke off from the group when her phone rang.
"Hey Bart. How was patrol?"
"Good. Got James to take his meds. How's life with the Adam's family?" June stifled her giggles.
"Good. Bruce chickened out of the proposal."
"You'd think big bad Bat would be able to propose to a girl."
"Yeah but he's definitely doing it tomorrow." June said with a smile. She heard Bart laugh on the other end.
"I want to be there when that happens." Bart said as June giggled.
"Apparently we're going to the beach tomorrow."
"Really? I've never been there before."
"What?! That's it, you're coming." June demanded.
"Just bring swimming trunks."
"Swimming what now?" June face palmed.
"Never mind, you can borrow one of Tim's."
"Oh ok, so what time should I be there?"
"I'll ask Bruce. He will let you come, I'm sure of it." June said with a smile.
"Alright. Guess I'll see you then?"
"Alright! And we would most likely leave at noon." June said.
"Got it." She then heard Bart yawn on the other end.
"Kind of. Patrol has made me really tired lately."
"Just go eat, you'll be fine." June smiled.
"You read my mind, June. Love you."
"Love you too." They hung up. June walked over to Bruce's study.
"Hey chicken." Bruce gave June a mini glare.
"Can Bart come to the beach?" She asked, her eyes widening considerably and her bottom lip sticking out.
"Why?" He asked with a sigh.
"Because I invited him." Bruce groaned. He really just wanted to spend time with his children.
"Yes! Thanks dad!" She said. She ran over to him and hugged him. Bruce sighed and ruffled her hair.
"Just stay out of trouble." June let go and winked.
"No promises." She disappeared. Bruce groaned. He taught her way too well... He sighed once again and got up from his desk, he walked into the living room to see what his children were doing. When he walked into the living room, he saw that his kids were all surrounded by Victoria and Andrew.
"I bet five bucks on Andrew." Jason said with a grin.
"I bet five on Victoria." Stephanie said.
"Don't use my children for bets!" Caitlin snapped. Bruce sighed, again, and went to see what they were betting on now.
"What are you guys doing?" He asked.
"Since the twins can crawl, we're betting on to see who's the fastest." Tim explained, looking at Bruce.
"Ten bucks on Victoria." June said with a smirk, looking at Jason.
"Deal." Jason shook her hand.
"On your marks, get set, GO!" Jaime exclaimed. Andrew and Victoria spent a couple seconds looking at each other, as if saying 'is this really our dad?'
"Jaime knock it off!" Caitlin said as she gave him a glare.
"Why can't I have fun?"
"You can, but not betting on our kids." Caitlin said as she crossed her arms across her chest. Victoria and Andrew looked at everyone and looked at each other once again. Then they started to crawl.
"There they go!" Jaime exclaimed with a smile.
"And the winner is...Victoria!" Jaime cheered, with the girls, picking up his daughter while grinning. Caitlin gave him a look of disapproval, an picked Andrew up.
"Don't worry Andrew, you'll get her next time." She kissed his cheek.
"Pay up." June and Stephanie said at the same time, as they both held their hands out to Jason.
"Ugh fine" He said as he reached for his wallet. He pulled out a five and a ten. He handed the five to Stephanie and the ten to June.
"I thought you didn't like this idea?" Jaime said as he raised an eyebrow at his wife.
"I don't, my little boy just lost to a girl. So I have a right to let him feel like a winner either way." Caitlin explained as she started to walk out of the room. When Caitlin left, Victoria started to whimper and reached her arms out towards the direction Caitlin went.
"What? You daddy's not good enough for you?" Jaime pouted. Victoria looked at him and squealed, giggling at his expression. Caitlin came back in the room.
"Oh, Jaime, I forgot to tell you."
"My mom and Ollie want us to come over for dinner tonight, something about seeing their grandchildren." Caitlin took Victoria from Jaime's arms.
"then let's put the kids in one of their new outfits." Jaime said. Caitlin nodded, with a smile, walking towards the stairs with both of the twins and going upstairs. Jaime quickly followed. Bruce shook his head. Poor kids. Their parents were about to cuteify them.
"Anyone want to bring someone to the beach tomorrow? Might as well since Bart's coming." Jason raised his hand and opened his mouth to speak, but Bruce cut him off.
"Yes Scarlet can come."
"Don't you want to bring Cassie, Tim?" June teased.
"Yeah, I did but she has some family thing going on tomorrow." Time said with a pout. Bruce gave his son a small smile. Just then Caitlin and Jaime came back down stairs with the twins. Victoria was wearing a pink dress with a pink flower headband wrapped around her head, while Andrew had on a blue polo shirt with jean leggings.
"Don't they look adorable?" Caitlin asked with a smile.
"Yes, they do!" June said as she rushed over to the twins, with a big smile.
"Hey, save the cooing for Mom and Ollie. They reserved it." Caitlin held her daughter tighter. June pouted, but gave her niece and nephew each a kiss on the cheek.
"They're too cute."
"Well June, they are my children." Jaime grinned. June looked at the twins.
"Wanna see me beat up your daddy?" She asked in a baby voice. The twins squealed and clapped their hands.
"Knock it off, both of you. Jaime we need to get going. I told them we were arriving by Zeta Tube." Caitlin said. Jaime nodded and ran behind his wife. Caitlin rolled her eyes and headed towards the batcave. Jaime then quickly followed Caitlin.
"What now?" Jason asked, looking at everyone. A grin appeared on June's face, she turned to her father.
"Daddy? Can we go see Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters?" She begged.
"I wanted to see that movie too!" Dick said cheerfully.
"You would, Dickhead." Jason muttered. Bruce groaned.
"Language master Jason." Alfred said, walking into the living room with a mug for Bruce.
"Here is some hot chocolate master Bruce." He said as he handed Bruce the mug.
"Thanks Alfred. And no June, I just want to sit down and relax." He said as he sat down in his chair with the mug. June began to pout.
"Alfred, are you coming with us to the beach tomorrow?" Stephanie asked.
"Only if I get to watch my grandchildren." Alfred said with a small smile.
"Of course." Bruce chuckled. June continued to pout and tugged on Dick's shirt sleeve.
"Can we go see the movie?" Dick laughed, and ruffled her hair.
"Sure, shortie." She glared at him.
"What did I say about calling me shortie?!" Dick quickly put his hands up in a surrender formation.
"Sorry, sorry." He said. Him and June made their way to the front door as Dick grabbed his keys.
"We'll be back later Bruce!" Dick said as he walked out the door with June.
"Drive safe Dick!" Bruce called out just as Dick closed the front door. Him and June climbed into the family car and headed to the city's theatre.
"So Dickie..." June smirked at her eldest brother.
"I heard you and Zee got back together."
"Yeah, we did. Why do you bring it up?" He asked as he drove towards the theater, glancing at her for a couple seconds till his eyes went back to the road in front of him.
"Well I was thinking that maybe you should invite her to the beach tomorrow." June said with a smile.
"I already invited her June" He said with a smile.
"I like Zee. She's better than your other girlfriends." June said.
"I mean, Raqueal is nice, and Bette is a good friend. But I think she fits you better." June explained, looking at him. Dick raised an eyebrow.
"What about Barbra, June?"
"She's like a sister. It was weird when you two were dating. Kori was just weird, and Rose was plain rude."
"That's because they're an alien and an assassin. What did you expect?"
"I expected Rose to be nicer since she knew Cay." June said. Dick smiled. He started to pull up in the theater parking lot. When he parked, Dick and June got out of the car and went into the theater. Dick bought the tickets and got some popcorn.
"It's close to the time that the movie starts." June said. Dick nodded and they headed towards the theater their movie was being played in.
"Still, how did you think Rose would treat you? You and Artemis were both lucky enough to escape turning into your dads. Rose probably hates you for that." Dick said as June cringed.
"Yeah...but I was friends with both her brothers."
"...nothing." Dick gave her a look. He clearly wasn't going to be dropping this anytime soon.
"Let's just head to our seats." Dick said as he started to walk towards a couple seats. June followed him and they sat down. The lights started to darken and the theater screen began to expand. Once the screen was expanded, the movie began to start.
~With Caitlin and Jaime~
"Aww, my grandchildren!" Dinah exclaimed, taking Victoria out of Jaime's arms and began tickling her. The baby girl began giggling.
"Hey Andrew!" Ollie took his grandson from his step-daughter. Andrew stuck his tongue out and blew a raspberry.
"I can see the mother-son resemblance now." Ollie said, looking at Caitlin pointedly.
"Gee thanks Ollie." Caitlin said. Oliver smiled.
"So have you two decided on a house yet?" Dinah asked as she sat down on the couch with Victoria on her lap.
"What do you mean?" Caitlin asked.
"You know, are you two moving out of Bruce's house soon?" Oliver asked.
"We've honestly been so worked up with taking care of the twins, we haven't given much thought to it yet." Caitlin admitted.
"I was hoping we'd finish college before even thinking about it." Jaime added, "I'll be taking courses at University of El Paso."
"I'm going to the same college Dick went to in Bludhaven." Caitlin continued, "Buying a home is the last thing on our minds."
"Well we wouldn't mind helping you kids out." Oliver suggested.
"That's right. When you two start college, we could take care of the kids." Dinah said with a smile. Caitlin smiled as well.
"That'd be great. But you'll have to deal with Alfred."
"Why?" Oliver asked.
"He positively adores the twins." Jaime laughed.
"Yeah, it'll take quite a bit to take them away."
"I think we can manage that." Dinah said with a smile. She then handed Victoria back to Jaime and went to check on dinner.
"So when you two are able to look for a house, where would it be?" Oliver asked as he looked at his step-daughter. Both Jaime and Caitlin looked at each other.
"Well, preferably in the safer -as safe as it can get- side of Gotham. Maybe close to a Zeta Tube, and near Wayne Manor." Caitlin said.
"Three or four bedrooms, two bathrooms." Jaime added.
"Why three or four bedrooms? You want more kids?" Caitlin asked, looking at him.
"No no, I mean for guests and when the twins get old enough to have their own rooms." Jaime quickly added. Oliver then began giving Jaime a look.
"Alright, then it shouldn't be that hard to find a house." Oliver finally said.
"And it's not like June or Dick would end up spending the night for some odd reason." Caitlin added, steering the conversation back to the topic.
"Maybe the twins will want separate rooms when they get older." Jaime nodded in agreement, relieved. He did not want another kid for at least a few more years. Maybe after they got settled in.
"Sounds good. Now during the time you guys are in school, your mother and I will be looking at houses for you two to look at. Sound good?" Oliver said as he looked at Caitlin.
"Yeah, that sounds good. School doesn't start in a few weeks anyway." She said, remembering that all Gotham schools start the same week. Caitlin then took Victoria from Jaime and sat her on her leg.
"June won't be happy." Jaime chuckled, "Fourteen years old and still complaining about those school uniform skirts."
"She complained about them when she was nine and she'll complain about it when she's eighteen." Caitlin told him, a smile gracing her lips.
"Dinner's ready!" Dinah called.
"Perfect!" Oliver said as he got up. He handed Andrew to Jaime and they all walked into the dinning room. Caitlin and Jaime both held the twins as they ate. During their meal, the twins started to whine.
"I think they're starting to get hungry." Dinah said with a smile.
"I guess you could say that." Caitlin said. She reached down to the diaper bag and grabbed a blue bottle, then handed it to Jaime. She then took out a pink bottle.
"Wait, I got to feed Andrew last time..." Caitlin sighed, exasperated. She switched the bottles and picked up her son. Sometimes Jaime was so childish.
~At Wayne Manor~
"It's so nice and quiet here without Dickhead and June." Jason said as he watched TV with his siblings.
"I have to agree with Todd, father. It's nice and peaceful." Damian said as he played with his new kitten. Bruce looked at his son and sighed. They were both right. It was peaceful. Tim was reading, the girls were doing whatever girls do, Alfred was cleaning the living room, Caitlin and Jaime were still at dinner with Dinah and Oliver, while Dick and June were still at the movies. There was an extremely uncomfortable silence in the living room.
"Okay, I'm scared." Tim muttered, putting his book down. Jason nodded in agreement.
"It hasn't been this quiet since June and Cay ran off."
"It's kind of unnerving." Tim said.
"I agree with both of you." Bruce said. He had to admit it was a strange silence. It was weird, uncomfortable and too familiar.
"So what do we do?" Jason asked.
"We wait and see who will be home first." Bruce said. The boys nodded, then went back to what they were doing. About 20 minutes later, June and Dick walked through the door.
"We're back!" Dick called out.
"Oh thank god!" Tim shouted, rushing towards them, latching himself onto each of them.
"Geez, Tim, we were only gone for two hours..." June accepted the hug though.
"It was too quiet!" He exclaimed. A smirks appeared on June's face.
"Not for long!" She sang, and took out her phone. She turned the volume completely up as "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction came on.
"MY EARS! I CAN FEEL THEM BLEEDING!" Jason screamed as he fell to the floor. Bruce quickly got up from his chair and ran out of the room, with Alfred following him. Damian picked up his kitten and followed Bruce and Alfred, while Tim laid on the ground covering his ears. Dick quickly ran out of the room and into the kitchen, groaning as he could still hear the music. June grinned and start singing along at the top of her lungs.
"BABY YOU LIGHT UP MY WORLD LIKE NOBODY ELSE, THE WAY THAT YOU FLIP YOUR HAIR GETS ME OVERWHELMED-"
"Why can't you just stay whelmed?" Dick groaned from the kitchen. Stephanie, Matthew and Cass suddenly entered the room. Matthew looked confused (the poor innocent little thing...), Cass smiled ever so slightly, and Stephanie's eyes lit up as she joined June in singing.
"BUT WHEN YOU SMILE AT THE GROUND IT AIN'T HARD TO TELL, YOU DON'T KNOW, OH OH! YOU DON'T KNOW YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL, OH OH! THAT'S WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL!"
"SHUT UP!" Jason yelled. The two girls looked at him and then at each other. They both smiled and went back to singing. Bruce groaned. He could hear them from his study. He sure wished Caitlin would get home soon. Finally, the song ended.
"At least they don't like Justin Bieber..." Jason whimpered.
"I DON'T WANT ANOTHER PRETTY FACE, I DON'T WANT JUST ANYONE TO HOLD. I DON'T WANT MY LOVE TO GO TO WASTE, I WANT YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL SOUL."
"Noooooooooo! ANYTHING BUT JESSE MCCARTNEY!" The boys yelled.
"Make it stop!" Tim pleaded.
"Where's Caitlin when you need her?!" Jason asked as he tried his best to cover his ears. Just then, as if on queue, Caitlin and Jaime walked into the living room looking confused.
"THANK YOU!" Tim yelled as he ran over to his sister and hugged her legs.
"Hey! I love this song!" Caitlin grinned. Stephanie and June high fived and cheered before continuing to sing.
"They've infected you!" Tim shrieked.
"Jaime, help us please!" Jason said as he ran over to Jaime. He gave them a confused look before he sat Andrew and Victoria down on the floor.
"Then why don't you guys just leave?" He asked.
"There's nowhere else to go!" Jaime just shook his head and brought the twins upstairs to their nursery. Jason groaned.
"June, Steph, stop bothering them." Selina appeared, smiling slightly. June and Stephanie looked at Selina, and turned the music off.
"Good now sit down and be good." Selina instructed. June and Stephanie quickly sat down on the couch. Caitlin rolled her eyes and walked upstairs after Jaime. Selina smiled at the two girls and went to Bruce's study. Dick and the others then walked back into the living room, sat down and went back to what they were doing.
"Make sure to not make so much noise!" Jason called after Selina.
"JASON!" Dick and Tim both tried to look disapproving, but the smiles threatened to take over their faces. June and Stephanie didn't even bother. They burst into a fit of giggles. Jason smirked.
"When do you ever stop?" Dick asked, looking at Jason.
"Never." Jason replied with a smirk. Dick rolled his eyes and changed the channel on the TV.
"So how was the movie?" Stephanie asked, looking at June.
"Amazing!" June chirped, eyes lighting up. The two got up from the couch and headed to the gym, talking about the movie.
"Those two..." Jason said.
"You think Bruce's gonna chicken out tomorrow again?" Dick asked. Jason and Tim shrugged.
"Maybe." Tim said, "If not, we'll ask for him."
~The Next Day~
Jason, Tim and Dick walked up to Bruce in the living room.
"So are you going to chicken out?" Jason asked.
"No I'm not Jason." Bruce said as he gave a stern look to his son. Jason smirked and walked away.
"Don't worry Bruce. You can do this." Dick said as he gave his father a smile. Bruce scowled.
"Of course I am." Tim looked at him, amused.
"Of course Bruce." He said doubtfully and followed Jason.
"Ta da!" Bart appeared out of nowhere, arms raised like the first time they saw him. June burst into laughter, unable to hide it. Dick and Tim both cracked grins. Everyone else looked confused.
"What's so funny?" Caitlin asked curiously. June ceased her giggles.
"N-nothing." She grinned, "Tim, can Bart borrow one of your swimming trunks? Thanks!" She took his hand and dragged him upstairs before Tim had a chance to reply. Tim sighed, exasperated, but expected nothing less from his sister.
"Here." June tossed her boyfriend one of Tim's swimming trunks. Bart sped into the bathroom and back out in a second wearing the trunks. June suddenly turned pink, having realized she'd never seen her boyfriend shirtless before...not that it wasn't a pleasant surprise.
"What? What's wrong?" He asked looking confused.
"N-nothing! Everything's fine!" June said quickly. Bart gave her a strange look. June tossed him his shirt and went downstairs. When her and Bart got downstairs, they noticed that Caitlin was trying to put a hat on Victoria.
"What are you doing Cay?" June asked as she walked over to her cousin.
"Trying to put Victoria's hat on but she keeps squirming." Caitlin said as she continued trying to put the pink hat on her daughter. June giggled and held Victoria stay still.
"Thanks June." Caitlin said as she got the hat on.
"They look so cute!" Stephanie said as she came over and looked at the twins.
