Chapter 7

Harry looked surprised and then grinned.

"Ah, that makes sense. The 'coma' you were in for a 'few years' was really being stuck in ice for seventy years, and the reason you didn't know what Flappy Bird was, is because you don't know a lot about technology nowadays. Totally understandable. Makes a lot of sense. Well, since we're confessing all of our secrets today, I'm actually kind of a part of the Avengers. Part-time, at least. I only made the deal with Fury this morning, actually, but I'll be helping you guys out on missions that need a fighter with my certain expertise. Otherwise, you're on your own." The elevator pinged and opened to show Tony waiting with a big grin.

"Harry! Good, you made it alive. I was worried when JARVIS told me that you were riding up with ol' Spangles here. He might've bored you to death, or something equally bland." Harry just smiled and stepped forward, letting Tony kiss him. Steve made a slight cough and tried to move past them, but Harry pulled away from Tony and turned to him.

"Who is it that we were talking about before we got to the building?" he asked, a bright smile on his face. Steve blushed and shook his head.

"No one. No one at all. Please don't mention it to Tony." Harry smirked and turned expectantly to Tony.

"You gossip. Who is in love with Steve in this tower?" he inquired loud enough for Steve to hear. Steve groaned and glared at him. Tony laughed loudly and wrapped his arm around Harry's shoulder.

"Clint, or Hawkeye, depending on which name you know. He and Steve got in this huge argument last night where Clint is completely jealous of some guy that Spangles ate dinner with—" Harry interrupted him.

"That would've been me that Clint was jealous of. Me and Steve met at a diner last night and got to talking, and apparently this Clint was spying on him, or me, now that I think about it." Tony lost his happy look and turned to glare at Steve.

"You had dinner with my boyfriend? I'm going to kill you," Tony said, taking a threatening step toward Steve. Harry rolled his eyes.

"Really, Tony? Really. Wow. I can't believe you just said that." Harry shook his head in disbelief. "Anyway, go on with your side of the story."

Tony pouted but went on anyway, glaring at Steve who had a faint blush on his face but a smirk all the same. "Well, Clint was jealous of my wonderful Harry, and started snapping at Capsicle when he came home, and started saying how Steve shouldn't fall in love with you—which is so true, because if he does, I'll kill him for sure—and so then Spangles snaps back and then leaves in a huff, and Clint is left looking like an abandoned puppy," Steve winced at that, "and I tried to help Clint feel better, but we all know that no one listens to me, so then I went and called you and talked for a bit, while Clint probably curled up in his nest somewhere, sulking and feeling sorry for himself." Harry nodded, a smile on his face.

"Well, I do love a good bout of matchmaking," he announced, and Tony grinned.

Steve decided to ignore this entire conversation, and get some answers about Harry at the same time. "So, you joined the Avengers this morning? Is it because of your computer skills?" Harry snorted loudly.

"Definitely not. If they needed good computer skills, Tony here is the god of computers." Tony smirked and pulled Harry closer. Harry rolled his eyes and continued, "No, I have certain abilities that make me desirable for fighting off monsters. But I'm really very part-time. I'm no warrior, and I don't want to fight, so Fury has agreed to a deal where I get to choose which missions I go on, and if he sends me in on a mission that doesn't need me, then I don't have to work for him anymore and he won't harass me again. So hopefully you won't see me fight ever if possible." Tony and Steve exchanged a glance that told Harry right away that there was something he should know.

"Well, you see," Tony started, and Steve finished, "Fury doesn't believe in doing things halfway, and if you're as strong as Fury thinks you are, you won't stay part-time for long."

Harry smiled without humor, surprising both men. "I was in a war from the time I was eleven to when I ended it at seventeen. So don't worry about me not being strong-willed enough. Fury can't do anything to me." Tony turned to Harry with curiosity in his eyes about the war, but Steve beat him to it.

"You were in a war? And you ended it? At only seventeen? Why were you fighting so young? That's illegal." Harry smiled that same smile that had no feeling.

"I was born into a secret society, though I didn't live in until I was eleven, and when I rejoined that community, I was instantly sucked into their war, and because of one stupid prophesy, I was the center of it all. I learned how to survive early on, and I was the one to finally kill the enemy leader." Tony wrapped his arms around Harry and tried to send comforting feelings toward his love, and Harry smiled up at him.

"Anyways, I want to see where you live, Tony!" Harry said, a cheery grin on his face now. Tony exchanged another sideways glance with Steve that Harry didn't miss, but ignored anyway.

"Of course, my lovely, British counterpart! I am merely a slave to your whim! What shall you like to see first?" Harry grinned and thought for a moment.

"How about your floor first, the one you live in, and then go on from there. I don't know what all there is to see." Tony smirked.

"Wanting to see my bedroom already? Mm, I thought we were taking this slow." Harry rolled his eyes. Tony's hands drifted to his hips, pulling him flush against him, but Harry simply smirked and pushed him away.

"You know how I feel, Tony. Now, about that floor?" Tony only pouted for a second before taking his hand and pulling him back into the elevator. Harry waved goodbye to Steve, who waved back distractedly, obviously thinking hard about something. Harry guessed he was trying to adjust to possibly being in love with another man. Captain America was from the forties, right? People back then weren't as tolerable to homosexuals as they are now.

Tony started talking about everything he could think of as they quickly ascended to his personal floor. JARVIS would add in his own comments every now and then, making Harry marvel at the personality he showed. He wished he could make something as wonderful as the AI.

Tony covered his eyes right before the elevator door opened, and said, "Don't peek, I want you to see the best part first, and then you can look at the rest of my awesome floor." Harry grinned but faithfully closed his eyes behind his boyfriend's palms and stumbled his way into the room. They walked straight to a room across from the elevator and the door automatically opened in front of them and they stepped inside. Tony counted down from three before slowly removing his hands and allowing me to see the 'best part' of his floor.

To no one's surprise, it was Tony's bedroom, and, again, Harry wasn't surprised that it was amazing. There was a gigantic bed in the center, with a long, short bedside table next to it. There was a connected door to a large bathroom with a hot tub that Harry desperately wanted to enjoy, and a walk in closet that had more space than clothes. There was a large, fluffy rug on the hard wooden floors, and it looked so soft that Harry immediately toed of his shoes and socks and wiggled his toes on it. Tony laughed at that but wiggled his own toes as well. There was a large tv on the ceiling that took up most of the space up there, and Harry imagined watching something as he lied on the giant bed. There was also a desk in one corner that had a high tech computer that Harry started salivating just from looking at it, and a laptop nearby. The best part, though, was wall across from the door that was all windows. The view was amazing, and there was a big balcony outside it with sliding glass doors. Harry was slightly terrified of going out onto it, but at the same time, excited.

"How do you like it?" Tony asked, wrapping his arms around Harry's waist, his chest pressed against Harry's back. His voice was almost normal, but there was a hint of insecurity hiding there that told Harry he wanted approval. Harry grinned and turned to face the genius, kissing him soundly.

"I love it. A lot. I almost want to move in just from seeing it. Or at least getting one of my own." Tony grinned widely and kissed Harry. He picked the smaller male up and carried him over to the bed. Harry was slightly nervous about what Tony would do, he didn't want to try and resist his boyfriend on his incredibly comfortable bed, but Tony knew better and simply sat next to him, holding his hand.

"That's what I want to hear. You should move in here with me. I wouldn't mind, and I'd control myself, and I'd give you access to the best, state of the art computers that the whole entire world has to offer, and you could wake up next to me, well, sometimes wake up to me, and we could see each other as much as we wanted, and you'd get to meet all of the Avengers, except Steve, 'cause I don't want you near him anymore, and we could have fun all the time, and you could—" Harry cut off his adorable ramblings with a sweet kiss.

"That all sounds great, and I know that someday it'll happen, but today, I'm just visiting. I'll think about it, and when I finally make up my mind, you'll be the first to know. For now, let's just calm down and relax for a while. I want to see your natural habitat. So far, it's a very awesome natural habitat." Tony looked disappointed, but quickly shook it away and pulled Harry to his feet, dragging him out of the room. To both of their surprise, a red haired woman in a dark skirt suit stood in the living room, a phone in one hand and a coffee cup in the other. She looked up when they came out, a look of surprise on her face at the sight of Harry.

"Miss Potts. What are you doing here?" Tony asked with a slightly flat tone. Harry wondered who she was to get a response like that out of his normally very happy or sarcastic boyfriend.

"Tony. I didn't expect you to have a visitor, especially not one that I don't know. Anyway, I came here with some papers for you to sign for the company. It shouldn't take long." Tony sighed loudly but nodded and grabbed the pen and papers that she offered him. He quickly scribbled his signature on the pages while Harry looked at the woman curiously.

She noticed, as she was doing the same, and held out a hand and introduced herself. "Virginia Potts, CEO of Stark Industries. You are?" She was polite, but at the same time, cold. Harry hated it when people acted like that.

"Harry Potter, owner and head software designer of Marauder's World. I make video games for a living. Why does Tony not like you so much?" Harry threw that out there to see her response, and was surprised when Tony spoke flatly.

"She's my ex-girlfriend who cheated on me. Here are your papers, Miss Potts. Please contact JARVIS the next time you need something like this done and he will send them to me. Goodbye." Tony practically shoved her out of the floor, her looking hurt and angry, but the elevator doors closed before she recovered from her shock.

"She always assumed that it would be me that cheated on her during our relationship. She would make little comments about my past playboy attitude and practically shove it in my face that I would be the one screwing up. It turned out that she thought that since I had such a great track record for cheating that she could do the same and still go on making me believe we were in love. I found her making out with another man, a doctor, one night when I came back from a meeting, and she told me that she had always assumed that I would make the first mistake, and that she wasn't serious about our relationship. I was just a cool boyfriend to brag about behind my back. Nothing serious." Tony rubbed his wet eyes and avoided looking at Harry as he sat down on one of the large couches. "I broke it off with her right there, and she assumed that I would fire her, but I don't believe in ruining the lives of those who got involved with me, so I let her keep her position as CEO, but we've never been the same, and honestly, I don't want to be anymore. She just used me and threw me away." Harry's heart broke for his already heartbroken boyfriend, and sat next to Tony, putting his arm around his shoulder and pulling him into a hug.

"Well, trust me when I say this, Tony Stark, I don't cheat on or betray anyone that I love, so you don't have to worry about that. And I'm already as rich as you, so no worries about me being a gold digger, and also, I have better sense than to think that you could ever cheat on me while we're in a relationship. I already know that you're loyal. You're practically a hufflepuff!" Oops. Harry hadn't meant to say that out loud. Tony looked at him, confused.

"What's a hufflepuff?" he asked, filing away the slight look of panic on his boyfriend's face for later thought.

"Uh, it's a personality type name that means you're loyal and a hard worker. It's a term we used in my high school. Sorry, I forgot you didn't know it." Harry hoped Tony would just forget it and move on. Thankfully, he did.

"Cool. Anyways, let's go down to the main floor and I'll introduce you to everyone. They'll be happy to meet you, and will want to know how you're going to contribute on the field. I want to know that as well. Obviously you fight well if you were in a war for six years, but they'll want specifics."

Harry nodded, dreading slightly how Tony would react. He didn't want him to think he was a freak for having magic.

They made their way down with the aid of the elevator and JARVIS called all of the Avengers to the main floor to meet Harry. When they got there, Steve was still there, but this time a woman with red hair, the same one who'd been harassing Harry, was sitting near him and talking quietly. Harry scowled slightly at her, but gave a quick, nervous grin towards Steve, who smiled back. Then the elevator dinged and a middle-aged man stepped out with salt and pepper hair and tired wrinkles adorning his face. He smiled nervously at Harry, who watched him curiously. He knew this was the hulk, but he didn't feel threatening. He felt calm, and tired, and sad, but not like a rampaging psycho he apparently turned into when angry. Harry wondered if the Hulk felt evil at all.

"Hi, I'm Bruce Banner. Nice to meet you. You are?" Harry grinned and grabbed the offered hand happily.

"Wotcher. I'm Harry Potter. Nice to meet you too. You're the hulk, right? I think it's pretty cool that you turn into a giant, green rage monster when you're angry. Probably sucks at times, but still. Pretty cool." Bruce looked at him like he was slightly demented, but then looked between him and Tony, and their connected hands, and 'ah'ed in realization.

"I see. So you're with Tony now. No wonder you two react so similar to me." Harry looked curiously at Tony, who just grinned.

"Yup. And now I'm a part-time Avenger, so you'll be seeing me a bit." He looked confused at the 'part-time' part, but Harry ignored it and turned to face the light haired assassin standing near him. He was scowling petulantly at Harry, and the wizard assumed that this was Hawkeye, who was also in love with Steve and thought Harry was trying to steal him away.

"Nice to meet you, Clint," Harry said, holding out a friendly hand. Clint glared at it for a minute before taking it and roughly squeezing it as hard as he could, which was pretty damn hard. Harry just grinned and gently shook his hand and pulled away.

"Now, Harry," Steve said, gaining the attention of everyone in the room. "I think you should tell us about why you were chosen to be part of the Avengers, and what your skillset is. We need to know so that we can know where to you place you when we go on missions." Harry took a deep breath and nodded. Squeezing Tony's hand a little tighter, he spoke.

"I'm a wizard, and I use battle magic, as well as healing magic. I can do just about anything with magic. There are some things that I won't do, however, but I'll tell you that stuff later."

The silence was deafening. Harry guessed—correctly—that the red head and Clint already knew this, but Steve, Bruce, and most importantly, Tony did not. Tony opened his mouth and shut it again a few times before taking a deep breath and asking, "This isn't a joke, right?"

Harry shook his head silently and waited with bated breath. Tony finally started nodding and pulled him closer. "Okay. Cool. I can take that. Just one thing, though." Harry looked relieved and expectant at his serious boyfriend. "Can you pull bunnies out of a hat?"

A/N I was planning on leaving a bit of a cliff hanger on how Tony would react to magic, but then I figured that since I'm so slow at updating regularly, that I didn't want to leave all of the readers hanging like that. Hopefully I'll update again soon.
