I picked up the kids and dropped them off with Tess without a hitch. Before I knew it I was storming through the hospitals ER. The kids were quiet and I could see in their eyes that they knew something was wrong. They didn't ask about why I was in a hurry though. Not even why I left after hugging and kissing them with tears in my eyes and rushed out the door again. I was scared and worried all at once and had no idea how to explain what was going through my mind.
"Clarissa Fairchild?" I asked as calm as I could to the nurse at the desk. She immediately ran her name and looked at me sadly.
"I'm sorry. She's still in surgery. I'll page the surgeon for an update."
i nodded my thanks and took a seat watching the family across from me sobbing silently. I sat there holding back my stress and tears and closed my eyes. I'm not sure how much time went by before I heard her speak.
"I am so sorry for the delay, but I'm happy to inform you that your father has pulled through surgery and we are expecting a full recovery within the week. My head snapped up, there she was, in the beautiful purple blouse that she had on this morning when she left to take the kids to school, unharmed and standing as tall as she could in her short height.
"Clary?" I croaked.
"jace?" she said as she turned to look up at me. "I am so sorry. I would have called but my phone fell into a sewer as I got out the car. There was an acc-"
i cut her off with a hug and passionate kiss. My clary, my love. My life. She was fine. She was okay. And I was so greatfull to the universe to be able to hold her. "I was terrified. I thought the worse when I got the call...I thought we lost you. "
"Oh jace, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for the scare. I'm so sorry. There was an awful accident. I was the only medical help immediately on scene. I am so sorry to worry you like this. I'm okay. I'm right here, I'm perfectly fine."

I had no idea what was happening. One second I'm yieldiNg at a red light and then the car in front of me was smashed into by a garbage truck. The man driving the car was cut up so badly and as I got out of the car to go help I dropped my phone. I notified the staff as I was taken into ER putting pressure on the mans sever wound to call my family and inform them I was here. Doctor patient privilege kept them from divulging any info to them of course so they obviously assumed the worse.
"I was so scared," have said as he sobbed into my shoulder.
"Shh, it's okay. I'm here and won't ever leave you."
"can I please take you home now?" He asked, his voice shaking.
"Of course."
A/N sorry for the short chapter. I know it's not like me. But I wanted to get off the cliff hanger and give my readers some lovin! Xo
