"Ronald, go and take a bath, will you?" Hermione said.

"Sure thing" her husband replied.

He went up to the first floor bathroom, opened the door and switched on the light. Then he saw it.

It was standing on the edge of the tub with all eight of its thin and hairy legs. Ron let out a very scared and piercing scream.

"Dad, are you okay in there?" thirteen year old Rose asked from the other side of the bathroom door.

"Get your mum" was all he could say in his fear.

He heard her feet going downstairs and distant voices. Soon he heard footsteps coming closer and then a slightly annoyed "What is it, Ron?" from Hermione.

" 'Mione, spider" was all he could muster.

"Hang on; you called me just because you saw a spider? Honestly Ron, show some Gryffindor courage will you? It's just a spider"

"Oh that's easy for you to say. You aren't…"

"And if you really find it that disturbing, you could just come out of the bathroom you know" Hermione cut him off and said.

Ron at once opened the bathroom door and stepped out with a relieved expression on his face.

"Now, why didn't I think of that?" Ronald said when he stepped out.

"Fear muddles the mind, Ron" Hermione said as she stepped in to get rid of the spider.
