Author's Note: Hello all you wonderful fanfiction authors and readers. I've been quite bad at updating stories but I will be doing better. I started this story a long time ago but by posting it, I will have to be accountable to all of you. Please give me your honest opinions and look out for an update every two weeks! R&R. Thanks TBG
Prologue
I'm like a song.
That's what my mama told me. I used to cry a song when I was younger. Though I do not know how a wailing baby could make music pleasing to one's ear, I accept the compliment. Maybe I was a special baby. Who knew?
I knew and I still do. Humans are made up of flesh and blood, complicated networks and tissues, organs and skeletons. I had none. Did that make me a freak or special? I say, special. Freak is such an…elementary term.
Anyway so, I bet you're wondering why I'm speaking to you. Even though I'm an unknown character and you'll only hear me speaking here, a little during the story, and at the end, I'm speaking now because, being the special person that I am, I have a story that needs to be told. A story that I played a major role in, even though my part only lasted a few minutes. Even though throughout the story, I sometimes wanna yell, 'Ugh, stupid!' at the characters, I always have to remind myself, 'Calm down, Melody. Untwist those undies of yours.' Ok, so I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me start from the beginning of this story so you understand all my expletives.
A story about a typical girl who lived with her mother. Having divorced parents ruins the lives of many young folks, but Bella learned to live with it. She was a very intelligent, quiet girl who didn't have a lot of friends at her high school.
Extraordinary events rarely happened to Isabella Swan before she moved to Forks. By the way I love her name. Just had to put that in there, back to the story now.
But all that was about to change the minute she met Edward Cullen.
Edward. Handsome, smart, kind, a gentleman - a desirable man all around. But, of course, the perfect man wasn't even human. He lusted after Bella's blood, longed for it. Lust can make people(or vampires in this case) do crazy things and Edward began to stalk this lamb. Stalk, but unlike a true lion, he never actually killed the object of his thirsty eye. Instead, he found love in her wide, brown eyes, her floral smell, her mystery. I personally feel that it was the wackiest way in history to fall in love, but what do I know, I'm not human or a vampire.
Anyway the feeling was mutual. Bella and Edward had a whirlwind love affair which ended up with Bella meeting James, a corrupted, sadistic vampire who, unlike Edward, always finished what he started. But luckily for them, our handsome vampire and his stubborn human love triumphed in the end and returned to their complicated relationship, neither wanting to realize the blaring truth.
But an incident with Edward's brother Jasper ruined it all. Bella and her love were torn apart. Bella's bad luck coupled with the absence of her guardian angel(who is slacking by the way) made that inevitable. Despite the pleas of many, Edward's mind was set on a resolution: He and Bella could never be together. Nature wouldn't allow it and once you went against nature, you perished.
So, in one of the ugliest ways to break it off with someone in my opinion, Edward broke up with Bella in a forest, the same place that he had disliked Bella venturing into because of the dangers lurking there.
After Edward left Forks with his family, Bella fell into a deep and dark depression that rocked her for four months. When she finally resurfaced, she was not the same Bella. She couldn't be the same Bella. Imagine the love of your life uttering words that clawed at your soul forever, ripped out your heart and broke it into a thousand pieces in front of you? And then all that was left of you was a gaping hole. You go over your memories of them and wonder, those moments felt so true, had any of it been real at all?
Your mind begins to aim for the first option that comes to it, the simplest and most plausible one that best answers your questions: Those memories were all lies.
As Bella tried to repair herself, Jacob, the resident's friendly werewolf(and yes I did say werewolf), shined his rays of warmth over her cold, torn soul. The sun can heal all things and Bella's wounds welcomed the warmth.
As she soaked in some Vitamin C, she began to fall in love with Jacob Black. He was handsome, funny, cocky, sweet when he wanted to be, and reliable. Bella was almost herself again, but no one can fully heal after such a devastating loss.
This fresh and intricate love affair put Bella in an equally difficult place with a very hard decision on her hands. She had to choose whether to love Jacob with all she had left or to keep him as a friend in a healthy relationship.
Unfortunately, that isn't my story to tell. I gave you the basics. The others will tell the story, which does not end the way you know it. Bella's life becomes much more complicated, changes occur, emotions are spilled. The tangent of fate that Bella was once on skewed at this one crucial moment, therefore the ending is not the same as the one you may know. So it may just surprise you.
