This is for a writing challenge for flightclan so it will likely not be a story.

but if I get enough reviews then I might continue it.

it is long after the last book.

It was very peaceful in Thunderclan

WolfStar stretched then jumped onto highrock. all cats old enough gather beneath the highrock" she yowled. Cats of every shape and size leaked out of the dens and the surrounding areas until there was a mob of color under the highrock. just as the leader was about to speak a tired and wounded cat burst in then fell over. Cries of Medicine cat echoed, but no one replied. the med cat wasn't there. finally the cat talked. her face was disfigured beyond recognition,

it was only when she talked they realized who it was, Mountainheart, the deputy. "I was on a patrol.." she started "when cats.. they looked like all the clan cats, burst out of the bushes. they showed no mercy.. no trace of the warrior code and attacked viscously. Lillypelt (the med cat) heard the cries but when she came to help she was killed too." the words were tumbling out of her mouth, a fast paced rabble that was only just understandable. The clan cats were shocked, apart from WolfStar. But she was the leader and knew that if she showed her emotions the whole clan would burst into chaos.

"Continue" she meowed, so Moutainheart did. "all the patrol fought bravely, but there were to many. and they are heading this way." "Why!" shouted Larkpaw, Moutainheart's apprentice. "To take over thunder..." whispered WolfStar finally the prophesy that Lillypelt had made made sense.

' Thunder must leave to the mountains with the mountain's heart leading with starry pawsteps and larks wing to guide

the path'

WolfStar didn't know that she had been speaking aloud till she noticed every cat looking at her. suddenly there was a groan from Mountainheart and she slumped, groaning to the ground. finally larkpaw said softly and sorrowfully, "she's dead". In that moment WolfStar made up her mind, they would leave, But not before she had done what she had wanted to do.

"Larkpaw" she yowled, getting the attention of the whole clan. she paused letting larkpaw scramble through the other cats till she reached the front. then she spoke again.

"I, WolfStar call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Larkpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect the clan, even at the cost of your life?

"I do" she responded, a slight trace of sadness in her voice, Mountainheart should have been there.

Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Larkpaw, from this moment on, you will be known as Larkwing. Starclan honors your warmth and diligence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Thunderclan.

"Larkwing!,Larkwing!,Larkwing!" the noise swelled inside the gorge and for a moment it amplified until it seemed to be as loud as any noise could get. Then the cats picked up the kits, helped the elders and made there way into the darkness.
