4th January 1981. Bill – 9, Charlie - 7, Percy – 4, Twins – 2, Ron and Harry - infants

Ron was crying again. Molly picked him up and rocked him in her arms. She was at her wits end trying to cope with six of her own children, who were trouble just by themselves, and Harry Potter who Molly had stupidly agreed to look after whilst his parents helped the Order. Fred and George were at the terrible twos and were a nightmare. Percy was trying to help his mother, but only succeeded in helping his younger siblings cause chaos. Bill and Charlie were upset as it was raining so they couldn't play Quidditch. Harry, on the other hand, was staring wide eyed at what was going on. It was possible he had never seen this many people before.

"Mummy, Fred and George got your wand again!" Percy wailed as a loud crash could be heard from the other room. She sighed and Ron put down, feeling in her apron pocket for her wand. It wasn't there. Groaning, she got up and went to reprimand the twins for the fourth time today. Those two were going to make her go grey before she was forty!

When she entered the dining room, the mess was worse than she expected. Pots, pans and plates littered the floor. George had her wand clutched in his tiny toddler fist and Fred was laughing at the multi-coloured sparks coming from the tip of her wand. Molly put her hands on her hips and glared at them sternly. The twins sensed her gaze and dropped her wand behind them, looking up at her with cute, innocent faces, which seemed to say 'Who? Us?'.

"What have you two got to say for yourselves?" She thundered furiously, not caring that they were too young to properly answer back. Both of them looked really sheepish and pointed immediately at the other.

"It was him mummy!" They both said with their expressions and pointing fingers. Molly was about to send them up to their room before realising that they would cause less damage apart. She locked Fred in the twins' room, making sure that all sharp or dangerous objects had been removed before hand and locked George in the room that would soon be Ron's. Finally, she might be able to get some peace and quiet.

A while later, Molly had just finished a batch of cookies and had picked up her knitting when Lilly and James Potter came through the door.

"How was Harry?" Lilly asked as she picked up her son, looking at Molly's worn out expression

"Oh no, he was fine. It was my children that were nightmares. Harry and Ron got on very well together. Fred and George stole my wand and caused chaos in the kitchen." Molly sighed and realised that she would have to let them out for dinner soon.

"Yes, I'm sure they will grow into right pranksters when they are older." James commented, earning a glare from both Molly and his wife. He raised his hands in the air in defeat. Arthur came home and Lilly, James and Harry left. Molly let Arthur deal with the children after dinner, she locked herself in a darkened room with a cool cloth on her forehead.

A few weeks later, whilst attending an Order of the Phoenix meeting, Molly discovered that the Potters had been forced to go into hiding from You-Know-Who. No one was told where, for the Potters own safety. It was the last Molly ever saw of James and Lilly Potter.
