Patch drove me to school that morning, and when we got out of the car I heard my name being called from across the parking lot. I turned my head to look and Braylon was waving and me and walking over. Oh no.
I looked at Patch and spoke to his thoughts, No fights this time Patch, I mean it.
He looked at me and smirked, No promises there Angel, I love you too much.
Braylon caught up to Patch and I and smiled at me.
"Morning, hey I missed you at the club on Friday. What happened?" He looked at me with worry in his eyes, when I looked up at him I noticed a slight bruise on the side of his jaw. That's odd, it wasn't there the last time I saw him. Shoot! I forgot to tell Patch he invited me to the Devil's Handbag! Oh no.
"Right, sorry. I got caught up with Patch. Couldn't make it, I'm sorry." I looked up at Patch and kissed him on the mouth for a long time, hoping that Braylon would walk away. But when we broke apart, he was still there.
"Well, alright then. Well you got to come with me tonight then. Even though it's a Monday." He looked like he wasn't taking no for an answer. I sighed and looked over at Patch for help. As difficult as it was, Patch looked down at me, nodded and spoke to my thoughts.
Go Nora, we need to seriously figure this guy out. I'll be with you the whole time, he just won't notice.
If Patch says it's okay and he'll be there the whole time then I think I can go. I turn to Braylon and give him my most charming smile.
"I'd love to go tonight, I'll meet you there say around 7?"
"Great! Can't wait until then. I'll see you in class Nora." With that he turned towards the school doors and walked away.
"This guy is starting to give me the creeps, did you see that bruise on his jaw? That was not there on Friday." I looked up at Patch and wondered what he thought about it.
"Hmm, could be anything I guess Angel. We'll figure it out. You better get to class though, wouldn't want you to be late. Come over right away after school so we can talk about tonight. I have to go now, love you Angel." He leaned down and kissed me softly on the lips and started walking away. He seemed a little preoccupied with something at the moment, but I didn't want to push him.
The school day could not go any slower, and Braylon wouldn't stop talking. He was really starting to get on my nerves, but at the same time something in my head really wanted me to keep talking to him and hang out with him. At lunch Patch called me and said he might have a few leads on one of Hank's friends. He didn't say too much on the phone just in case someone might have been listening somehow.
I spent the lunch with Vee talking about how she thinks Braylon is just the hottest thing out there.
"He's just so hunky and dangerous looking. Not as good as Scott though, no one can top Scott. Man I really miss him babe." She pulled the donut off my plate and began picking at it and eating some of it.
"I know you miss Scott, I miss him too Vee. It will be okay in the end though." Somehow what I just said didn't really give us much hope.
The rest of the day seemed to go by quicker and before I knew it, I was turning into Patch's driveway. Finally I get to see him. I found his house key and unlocked the door. When I got in, I noticed he was laying on the couch sleeping. I walked over to him and sat on the floor in front of him. I shook his shoulder lightly.
"Patch, wake up, it's Nora." When he opened his eyes, he looked at me and smiled.
"Sorry about that, I guess I passed out." He sat up and motioned for me to sit beside him. As soon as I sat down, he kissed me on the lips.
"Should we figure out a plan for later tonight?" I asked.
"Right, I've been thinking about that. So basically what you do is act like nothing is going on and I'm not inside with you. You came on your own remember? If you need me, just speak to me in your thoughts, I should be able to hear you. I'll make a perimeter check just in case. I still really don't trust him." I nodded as he told me the plans. I was really hoping that there weren't any fights breaking out.
After spending a few hours on the couch just talking, I looked at my watch and read 6:25.
"I should probably start getting ready, I don't want to be late." I got up from the couch and went to Patch's room, which was all cleaned up. I found my small stash of clothes that I had brought over from my house a few weeks ago. I picked out a small black dress with a leather jacket to go on top. I found a pair of strappy heals that I borrowed from Vee a few months back. When I finished up with my hair and makeup, I walked down the hall back to the living room where Patch was watching a movie. When he looked up and saw what I was wearing his jaw dropped. He stood up and walked over to me.
"Nora, you look absolutely amazing. I'm worried that all the guys will be fighting over you." His eyes moved up and down my body and I caught a hint of desire in his smoky black eyes.
"Well I sure hope you will protect me then." I closed the distance between us and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I will never let you go Angel." He kissed me passionately on the lips. I let out a small gasp when he bit my lip.
"I love you so much Patch." He took a step back and checked the time, 6:50.
"We should get going." He smiled at me and led me out of the house.
I was nervous the entire drive to the Devil's Handbag, Patch and I rode separately just in case I needed to make a quick getaway. When I was near the entrance, Braylon noticed me and walked over.
"Wow, Nora, you look amazing." I felt a shiver as I noticed his eyes racking up and down my body.
"Thanks, you don't look too bad yourself." He put his hand on the small of my back and walked me into the club. At first I wasn't comfortable with him touching me but something in my mind told me that I wanted it to happen.
