Foodless and Hopeless

They were lonely times.

No food,
no shelter,
no love.

He wanted love most of all
but, perhaps
it was the one thing he couldn't
forage for.

Food he found in bins
or on the floor
and if he needed to,
he stole.

Shelter were the outcrops of buildings
and in alley ways

But love, love was just a hope
to exist.
