Chapter 14,

Paul's POV,

Falling asleep with Ness in my arms was amazing, when I first imprinted I hated the idea of being tied to someone I never even knew but now I can't imagine my life without her in it. Having Jasper around wasn't as bad as I thought it would be either, I was taught to hate vampires, but I could see he loved Ness above all.

I woke up with my arms still around Ness, I had never felt so relaxed in a long time. I just laid there for a moment holding her, I looked over her face and could see that she was dreaming. I carefully pulled my arms from her and went to the bathroom to have a piss, I was just washing my hands when I heard a bone chilling scream I rushed into the bedroom to see Jasper already awake and trying to wake Ness so I rushed over to the bed and put my hands on her face.

"Ness, sweetheart come on wake up"

"Ness."

I shock her one more time, and finally her eyes opened but you could see there was no comprehension in them, she was still deep in her nightmare.

I pulled her face up so she could meet my eyes, I then placed a soft kiss to her forehead,

"Baby come on your awake it was just a nightmare. Me and Jasper are here, and we will protect you"

With that shes looked at me with so much agony written on her face if I wasn't siting I would of fell down. She looked at me, then looked to her side to see Jasper there she reached for his hand and then mine and simply said.

"Please don't let him take me"

"Who baby girl?"

"Silas!"

"Who's Silas baby?"

"The immortal witch my father made the deal with for Sammy! He wants payment and I'm his payment, you cant let him take me please!"

With that I've pulled her into my lap and wrapped my arms around her tightly, Jasper doing the same from the side.

"Baby girl, I promise you no one is going to take you from us! No one your our mate we will protect you with everything with have!"

I felt her tense in my arms then gasp in a breath, then start sobbing again she said one thing

"Sammy"

And I knew we wouldn't get any sense out of her tonight unless we took her to see Sam, so I stood up with her in my arms I didn't even get dressed. Jasper following me, I ran out of the house and straight to Sam's crashing through the door not even giving him a chance to open the door.

He stood up once he saw us but before he could speak, we all heard one sentence that had us all on alert.

"I'm coming for your sister!" then the line went dead!

With that one sentence my whole life took on a new meaning, I became a wolf to protect my tribe from cold ones, but now me and my wolf were in agreement our priority was protecting our mate and we knew without a doubt that every member of this pack would do the same thing.

I also knew she would have Jasper, and Jasper's vamp friends even those volturi vamps that came earlier for the Cullen's, but it didn't make me worry any less. Thankfully Sam brought me out of my thoughts.

"Paul? What's going on?"

I didn't even get a chance to speak before Ness was launching herself into Sam's arms, thankfully he was quick enough to catch her in time before she fell.

"Sammy! Please you can't let him take me! I'm sorry daddy did this to you please don't let him take me!"

Sam's eyes softened and his expression became one of pure love, something I had never seen on anyone's face before let alone Sam's. He tightened his arms around her and walked over to the chair, sitting down pulling her into his lap.

"Baby girl no one is taking you from us, let alone me now that I have you back in my life. I didn't fight for you before and I have regretted it ever since. I will not let that happen again I will fight for you every step of the way and I know Jared, Paul and Jasper will do the same and so will the rest of the pack. So, you don't need to worry ok, your ours not his whoever he is"

She looked into his eyes, then looked over to Jared who nodded back in agreement. She knew without looking at us that we would fight for her every step of the way. She took a deep breath and calmed herself down.

"I think we need to contact our father Sam, he can tell us all we need to know about Silas. All I know is he is bad news; I don't know why or who he is but I do know I can call someone who knows who he is and how he get woken from his sleep."

"Dad? Are you sure? I mean how can we trust him to be truthful with us now after all these years. And who can you call?"

"Because he cant hide his secrets forever Sammy and now that we know about some of them and that Silas is coming, he will have no choice but to tell us. I have a friend who has been alive for over a thousand years so its only logical that he knows about Silas and how he got woken up"

Sam just nodded his head; I knew this would be hard for him. Being the third to phase into a wolf it brought me, Sam and Jared a lot closer than the others so I knew what Sam thought of his father and it wasn't much. I couldn't blame him either his father was an ass, even though none of us knew about Ness until a week ago it never changed our opinion on their father.

Who sends their daughter off to be adopted because their wife is a raging bitch and can't handle a child! Not only that but his father walked out on him and his mum all because he found a new family, to send off your daughter to make a woman happy then leave that very same woman is vile but to also ditch out on your son to I loathed that sort of man.

Me and Sam were much the same when it came to our fathers, mine ditched out on me and my mum when I was young, so I could imagine how hard this was going to be for Sam, but I knew it would be even harder for Ness, until recently she adored her father even after it being him that sent her away to make Sam's mother happy he was still someone Ness adored. That was all about to change with all the secrets being spilled, I just hoped it would be honest with us all so we knew had to protect Ness from this Silas person.

"Ok, I know where he is, I can make the call now and hopefully get him here for the morning! But in the meantime, Ness you need to rest, you can all stay here tonight"

He helped Ness to her feet and stood up with her, but before he could move Ness was grabbing his arm and shacking her head.

"Sam, we don't have time to wait till the morning, you don't understand Silas was close when he called you that's how I had my dream vision of him. He sent it to me so I knew he was coming but he could only do that from a certain distance away, no matter how the deal was made, he would still need to be close to me to send visions to me. I need to make my call tonight and you need to get dad here now"

Sam looked at her for a moment, I think he was looking to see if he could sway her into doing what he wanted to do. But I knew once Ness made up her mind there was no changing it, and if she said we needed to do this tonight we would be there is no way I am losing anytime, we need to learn all we can and fast.

He gave up and nodded his head,

"Ok baby girl were do it all tonight"

With that he walked over to his phone, Ness standing up and looking over to me smiling so I smiled back at her. She then looked over to Jasper and I knew they were having a silent conversation with each other, even with only being with Ness and Jasper for a few short days I was getting used to their silent conversations one day hoping to be that in-tune with them both to join in. He nodded his head and fished in his pocket pulling out his cell, he held it out to her which had Ness walking over to him kissing his lips softly then grabbing the phone.

She dialled a number and waited all of five seconds before someone answered.

"What?"

Was snarled over the phone, obviously he had no idea who was calling.

"Nik" we heard a gasp of surprise on the other end,

"Hello love, missing me?"

This had both me and Jasper at the voice on the phone how dare any man call her love! This had Ness scowling at us and shushing us with her hands.

"Nik, I'm afraid this isn't a social call. I need information and you're the only one I know that's been alive long enough to give me the information I need well you or Kol, but I wasn't sure if Kol was still in his box or not, so I thought I'd call you first."

"How honoured I feel darling. What makes you think I'll give you anything you ask for?"

"Nik, I don't have time for this my life depends on any information you can give me so please for the love of all that's holy stop using your macho bullshit on me because it doesn't work, and you know it."

This had me smirking at Jasper yeah, our little mate was a hell cat alright!

"Ok love what is it I can do for you?"

"I need information on someone called Silas, I believe a witch, but I don't know how or whether his something else all I know is his name, his very old and his after me for payment for a deal my father made many years ago. So, any information you can give me would help"

We all heard him sigh and something told me Ness wasn't going to like his answer, so I walked over to her put my hands on her waist and pulled her to the chair with me, sitting down and pulling her into my lap.

"I'm sorry sweetheart I wish I could help but I can't. I have heard of Silas, but I have no idea who he is. This is where Kol would be your best bet, he has mentioned Silas's name many times always in fear telling us not to look for the cure to vampirism, but I simply did not listen, neither did the Salvatore brothers. They woke Silas to get the cure for Elena and Silas has wreaked havoc on Mystic Falls since."

"Damn it Nik! I could of told you to stop looking if you had actually damn well asked me! Why did you want the cure anyway? It wouldn't work on a hybrid like you"

"Well you see I wanted it for Elena also…

Ness cut him off before he could continue,

"Of course, you did, let me guess to make more hybrids"

"I needed to finish my army"

"Jesus, have you never learnt anything? Your family love you they always have "Always and forever" weren't just words to them."

"Hmmm"

"I know that's all I'm going to get from you so tell me is Kol alive or daggered?"

"His alive, in fact his just walked in the door hold on"

"KOL"

You could tell it was shouted away from the phone but with our supernatural hearing we could hear it as plan as day.

"Brother"

"Phone call for you"

We heard the rustling of switching hands then a new voice came onto the line.

"Who is this?"

"Hello Kol"

"Ness! Its been a while how are you darling? Where are you? I could pop by and snuggle with you like old times"

This had me tensing and Ness running her fingers through my hair.

"I'm doing well Kol, I'm back in my home town of La Push in Washington. I don't think either of my mates would like that very much"

"MATES!"

This had Ness giggling slightly,

"Yes Mates!"

"Well darling they certainly are two very lucky guys. So, if not for night company what can I do for you? I'm guessing this isn't a social call"

This had Ness sobering up quickly and sitting up straighter

"No this isn't a social call, Kol I need your help"

"What can I do for you little bird"

"Tell me all you know of Silas and leave nothing out"

"Silas? What could you possibly want with Silas?"

"It's not what I want Kol. My father made a deal with him many years ago and they payment is me. Silas is calling in on that payment as I know nothing of him or about him, I need to know everything I can so I can be prepared for when he comes here."

"I can't imagine why Silas would accept you as payment darling, his only ever wanted to awaken his mate Amara. Do you know whether it was a blood deal your father made?"

"I have no idea Kol, our father isn't here. My brother Sam is trying to get hold of him now to bring him back home so we can find out all we can regarding the deal that was made"

"What was the deal?"

"Father put a fake imprint on Sam. He got Silas to do a spell many years ago so Sam would imprint on a lady called Emily, why we don't know"

"Ah, well that kind of spell would require blood sweetheart. I can help you but its best to have this conversation in person give me until the morning and I'll be there it won't take me long to run"

With that he hung up, I looked at Ness and she looked to be in shock,

"Baby you ok?"

"Uh, I didn't think he would come but that works in our favour. So, I should probably tell you now that Kol is and Original Vampire not like Jasper. Kol and his family were the first vampire's ever made so all other traditional vampires were created from him and his family. The difference is they can't be killed with a stake to the heart, they can compel vampires and a wolfs bite can not kill them. "

Before I could say anything, Sam walked back into the room,

"Dad will be here in an hour, turns out he lives on the Makah Rez so his not that far away."

"What did you tell him?"

"Nothing really, just said he was needed told him I wouldn't of phoned if it wasn't important"

"He agreed and said he would be here soon."

"Ok good. Well Kol will be here soon also so I don't think there's much we can do now but wait."

With that shes got up off my lap, grabbed my hand and pulled me up and into the living room. Shes switched on the TV pushed me into the couch and sat on my lap. Tapping the spot next to us for Jasper to sit.

As soon as he sat down, she grabbed his hand and curled up in my lap watching some crappy chat show.

Me I just put my head to the back of the couch and closed my eyes. I had a feeling the next few days were going to be busy as hell and I didn't know what to think about that as I just wanted to be with my mate, buried deep inside her hearing her scream my name over and over. I was bought out of my thoughts by Ness wriggling on my lap and me growling at her, I saw Jasper out of the corner of my eye smirking at me, yeah that bastard felt exactly how I was feeling.

Ness continued to wriggle trying to get comfortable but every time she moved she rubbed against the bulge in my pants, so I wrapped my arms around her holding her still and whispered in her ear.

"Baby if you don't sit still, I'm going to be balls deep in that pussy of yours before you know it and I'm sure neither Jared nor Sam want to see that"

I felt her shiver in desire and let a soft moan escape her lips, she shock herself of the feelings I invoke in her and moved to the side of me so she could curl up in-between me and Jasper.

"As much as I would love that babe my brothers won't"

This had me and Jasper chuckling at her, instead we just both grabbed a hand and watched the chat show that was on. Jeremy Kyle USA! Great like I wanted to watch this shit.

Sam came into the room carrying cups of coffee which I appreciated he handed one to me and one to Ness, then Jared walked in carrying three cups, he handed one to Jasper then to Sam and then sat down on the floor drinking his.

I was hoping with the guests coming we could find a way to save Ness because there is no way in hell, I wanted to live without her now that she was here with me even sharing her with Jasper wasn't going to break my mood. I had never dreamed that I would find my mate, let alone she would already be mated to another and they were both waiting for me to complete their bond.

I have never in all my life felt so at peace as I do now having Ness with me. It's so cliché to say but she really does complete me in every sense of the word.

We were all so caught up watching the TV that we didn't hear anyone approach the house until they were knocking on the front door. We all stood up with me and Jasper pushing Ness behind us, and Sam and Jared going to answer the door now if any of us were thinking clearly we could of just sniffed and realised who was on the other side but we were all just a little highly strung right now so when Sam opened the door revealing none other then Joshua Uley standing there not one of us was prepared for Ness's reaction.

All we heard was a scream then we saw Ness launching herself at Josh screaming at him that she hated him. We were all so shocked that it took us a moment to react, in an instant Jasper sprung into action pulling Ness away from Josh and over to me he then pulled her into his arms whispering softly in her ears so softly that if I wasn't so close I wouldn't of heard him.

Sam took that moment to usher Josh into the house, he took a seat on the chair in the corner away from Ness and looking at her with nothing but pure heartbreak on his face. But I couldn't feel sorry for him though as he had hurt my mate not only by letting his so-called bitch of a wife get rid of her but also by making this deal.

Jasper had calmed Ness down and pulled her into his lap on the couch with me taking a seat next to them and grabbing her hand, running my thumb along her knuckles, we all looked to Sam to be the head of this meeting because I knew Ness wouldn't be able to.

"Josh…. Dad we asked you here for a reason. We know about the deal you made regarding my fake imprint with Emily Young, we want to know why you did it, what exactly the spell was, why you choose Emily and why you used Ness as payment! Because I had some dude called Silas call me tonight telling me he was coming for Ness now you better start speaking because no way in hell would I let anyone come and take Ness away now I have her back"

I knew Sam was pissed about all this, I knew from the minute he found out about the fake imprint, but he kept quiet because he wouldn't want to hurt Ness, now though with Josh being here he would let rip and Josh best beware because it was all aimed at him.

Josh looked terrified, at what I couldn't exactly pin point but I'm sure we would find out soon enough. He looked at both of his kids staying longer on Ness, he then took a deep breath.

"I know you both must be angry with me, and I understand why but you have to let me explain ok. "

Ness and Sam looked at each other for a long moment then nodded, Sam once again taking lead.

"We're listen can't promise we won't get mad though"

"Thank you. When I first made the deal with Silas it was after Billy and Quil found some parchments from the previous tribe, there was a few different ones but the one that caught my eye was a prophecy. It foretold you and Ness being born long before I was even born. It said that my first-born son if left on his path would become the most powerful wolf alive but that this would not be a good thing. The prophecy of Sam was called "Spiritus Bellator filii diaboli" It took us a while to translate it but once we did it left me reeling for your future Sam"

"What does it mean?"

Before Josh could answer him, Ness did

"Spirit warrior Devils son"

"Yes, at first I just thought it was a bunch of old men taking to much stock into the old legends of our tribe"

"But"

"Little things started popping up about you Sam, your temper towards everyone but Ness for a start. Then Ness's powers were growing, at that point she had visions but while she was sleeping sometimes, she would talk in her sleep, so I started listening in. It took a week or so of this for the one vision that made me decide, Ness foresaw you in a relationship with Leah Clearwater, and it was that relationship that would lead you down the wrong path. It was more to do with Leah and her soul being evil then yours but at the time you would do anything Leah asked of you. So, I made my decision I went and spoke to Quil who had heard about Silas and told me about him.

We summoned him to Quils cabin, and the deal was made. In return he wanted Ness at first I refused there was no way I was agreeing to that then he told me he didn't want her until she was old enough to use all her powers, he said he didn't want to hurt you that he only wanted you for your powers so I agreed, he pricked my finger over the contract and said if I try to break it then I would die. "

Before any of us could ask questions, Ness jumped up off the couch and was in his face,

"No, I don't believe you! There's more to it there must be! You wouldn't sale me to prevent the legend from happening especially if you didn't believe in it. There was more to it then you said! What your saying makes no sense even with Sam being the bloody Spirit warrior devils son, it didn't mean he would be evil! What else was said what were the elements?"

Sam jumped up and grabbed Ness around the waist,

"Calm down baby girl!"

Josh stood up and walked over to Ness and Sam, he put his hands-on Ness's cheeks and pulled her face up to look into his eyes,

"I never meant to hurt you little one, you were my little miracle my little princess. I never thought I would have any more children after Sam, you see Sam's mother had a rough time delivering him and had to have her womb taken away. So, when Kammy told me she was pregnant with you I was over the moon the prophecy said that Leah would kill you and Sam wouldn't be able to stop it! I couldn't let that happen"

"I don't understand dad; Leah is a wolf but shes not strong enough to kill me none of the wolves are"

"Now baby but before you got your powers Leah could of done anything"

Ness's POV,

"Now baby but before you got your powers Leah could of done anything"

I don't understand anything; nothing is making sense anymore. Why would Leah want to kill me? Before I could ask another question, Sam and Paul both took a step away from us shaking, I knew the phase wasn't far off and nothing could stop it at this point, so I nodded to the back door and off they went.

All we heard was a howl then nothing, I looked at my father for a long moment before walking over to Jasper and sitting in his lap his arms wrapping around me tightly, I place my head on his chest and his chin rested on my head.

"You may as well sit-down dad, Sam and Paul may be a while to calm down"

I hope they hurry because we still have so much to discuss so much, I still needed to understand but I knew no matter what I would always have Jasper and Paul by my side protecting me and keeping me close.
