Hello everyone. It is after some careful consideration and about four years of thinking that I've decided to officially abandon this story. When I started it, I was a naive teenager. I saw the dynamics between Melinda and Rick as sexy and funny. Now, with some foresight, I can't continue this story in good conscience.

For those who wanted to see this story through to the end, I am so sorry. Here is my plan for the ending-

Melinda discovers Julie's true mother, in a similar manner to how she does on the show. Rick helps, and plays a role in figuring out how it all goes together.

Melinda dies as she does in the TV show, and returns. While she is under, Rick realizes what she means to him. The last chapter was meant to be Rick and Melinda waking up in bed together, finally a couple. Melinda has someone who loves her for who she is, and Rick has someone who would never betray him as Kate did.

I don't want to shame anyone who still likes them together. That's not the point of this. But for those who care, I didn't want to leave you hanging. Here are my reasons, and again, maybe consider just stopping your reading here because you probably won't like this next part.

1. Rick Payne sexually harasses Melinda. This isn't up for debate. There are multiple comments he makes that are sexual harassment, plain and simple. Not to mention coming to her house, drunk. Again, I cannot shame anyone who ships them because Cat's Claw used to be my favorite episode.

2. CONTENT WARNING.I saw Jay Mohr's comedy show live. I know one should separate the actor from the character but the fact remains that what I saw disgusted me to my core. He make transphobic jokes, homophobic jokes, joked that he would try to raw dog a woman even if she had a visible STD. Understanding that comedy can be offensive, he still crossed a line. Several of them.

3. My conscience won't allow me to continue this story. Quite simply, I can't look at their relationship in the same way. I will never be able to.

To everyone who still ships them, please, go ahead. I'm not offended by the ship. I don't think it's wrong. I just cannot do it anymore. I can't look at him the same way.

I have many other Ghost Whisperer stories, featuring Jimel as a couple. I hope that you guys can enjoy them.
