Well this is a long time coming I guess. To all readers of Fate/Magnus Bellum, I come with both bad and good news.
The bad news is, as most if not all of you have already thinking right now, this story is officially cancelled.
The main reason being I can't really imagine what I'm going to write next in regards to it. I've been stuck in a rut that I can't seem to get out of. I've re-read the entire story and honestly it's pretty clear to me now how much I was going through the motions in the last few chapters. Not to say the earlier chapters were great, reading through them again made me realize the amount of nonsense I put in that I just wanna take back now.
Which leads me to the good news. After thinking about it for a while and talking it over with a friend and some others, I've decided to try and rewrite the entire thing from the ground up. As it is, FMB is dead in the waters because a) I've been writing this for the fun of it and to see how far I could get with it before I eventually nuked myself (aka what's happening right now) and b) the idea of a rewrite strikes me as the more pleasant option to go with. I've even started basic plans regarding the whole thing though nothing concrete yet outside of a few stuff.
Again, I've been looking over the entire thing and there's so much I wanna fix that, by the time I'm done, FMB would probably be a same but different story altogether.
Why is that? Well the main reason being that some characters are going to be cut and/or replaced. I mostly want to dial down on the amount of Servants appearing and rework several character roles as well. The three faction war would still be a thing, though there won't be any additional servants beyond an established count that I have on hand that's (again) lesser in number than in the original FMB. Doing so allows me to better manage characters within the story and imagine fight scenes better in general. Class Cards in particular will be GONE. Zip. Nada. Adios!
The most important thing I would like to do would be giving Jeanne more focus from the beginning. In the original, I basically just made her out to be the love interest and I HATE myself for that. You guys can't tell but I'm actually imagining myself right now bashing my head on my desk just thinking about it. Ugh.
With all that said it'll probably be a while before I could put up the rewritten version of FMB. Real life is a pain as it is, with a relative living at our house complex being diagnosed with COVID-19 unfortunately (to which I pray they get better) and so I'm kinda on edge right now for both myself and my family.
Seriousness aside, I've also gone deep into playing Phantasy Star Online 2 for months now and with Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis on the way stuff I'm only bound to get in even deeper XD
Anyway, I'm leaving this version up so that people who somehow enjoyed it can still read it anytime they want. See you all in the future and have a Happy Valentines :D
