I blink heavily as my eyes adjust to the light. The room is a perfect white, perhaps 'room' isn't quite fitting for this giant expanse.

"Zack!" Lucy. Dead again. I turn around to see her naked body approach.

"Lucy. What an unexpected and not entirely welcome surprise." I smile as she stops walking, placing her hands on her hips with a smirk.

"And how is my second favourite being in existence?"

"Oh, you know – Dead." I wave my hand to our surroundings, or lack thereof.

"Yeah, It was all going so well. Until you jumped in front of that killing curse, of course."

"What can I say?" I shrug. "The world needs Albus Dumbledore to live past the age of 50. Whereas I'm more ..."

"Expendable?" She offers.

"Exactly." I grin. "And I find myself in such good company each time."

"Awh, I'm flattered." She says sarcastically. "I think you did quite well this time." She motions for me to follow her through a newly appeared door. "You wasted a bit of time, but overall it was nice work."

"I'm glad you enjoyed it." She opens the door and we cross through into the dingy pub that would one day become the Hog's Head. This is before Aberforth owned it.

"You managed to instil a life long dream of opening a pub in Abe."

"I think I just introduced him to the concepts of brewing." We watch as Aberforth continues to converse merrily with my past self. "Gellert always preferred a bitter, Whereas Albus' choices were sweeter."

"And anything with lemon." Lucy snorts.

"Where does this start then?" I ask. "Did he want to open a pub because of me, or did I make him want to open a pub because I knew he would in the future? Where does the loop begin?"

"Don't think so hard. It's just a paradox." Lucy shrugs.

"That's why I'm thinking about it." I cross my arms.

"You're thinking too straight. In reality, it's all twisted. You wouldn't understand." She waves her hand dismissively causing me to roll my eyes.

"So, What have you got cooked up for me this time?" I ask carefully. She turns to me, grinning evilly.

"Oh, you'll love this one." She throws an arm around my shoulders. I almost dread to hear the answer. "Have you ever heard of King Arthur?"

A/N: One year ago, i published the first chapters of 'Nobody Told Me the Rules'. Along the way i've had tons of support and i want to thank everyone that's read it and this little thing too. It really means a lot that people take the time to read my stories.

This is a tiny glimpse at what Zack goes through after he dies. Lucy has something else lined up for him.

Here's hoping the next year will be just as fun. Enjoy!
