Chapter Six

Role I

1 Year Later

.

'You are coming to the end of the first chapter, you are beginning to see.

I no longer cling to the simplistic ideals of right and wrong or good and evil. Dark and light are intertwined in strange and complex ways. And power is power.

Young one you will learn. Perception is everything. Humans are such fragile creatures, easily swayed and tempted. You must see underneath the underneath, focus on things unseeable and understand everything. The force will guide you, but you must be present and aware.

The nature of the Sith is deception and betrayal.

The nature of the Jedi is arrogance and complacency.

Learn to see, see everything.'

Revan.

Jedi Temple: Meditation Room

"Troubled you are young man." Said Yoda. "Your thoughts dwell on Dooku." He hummed with his eyes closed.

Both Naruto and the Grandmaster sat together, cross-legged in a meditation room. The blinds were slightly drawn, allowing the afternoon sun to come through in small beams of light. The pair rested on some raised seats with red padding and no backing. The air in the room was tense, still and heavy.

The blonde's bangs now reached the lower half of his cheeks. He wore a light and dark brown Jedi robes. The robe came down into an apron in front of his thighs.

"Nonsense." Replied Naruto sharply.

"Beg to differ I do." Retorted the old Jedi.

"You can differ all you'd like." Naruto blinked looking toward the ground. "Why did he leave?" Asked the blonde.

"Reasons Dooku has, hold a grudge you must not." Spoke Yoda in a solemn tone.

"What reasons are those?" Asked Naruto.

"A good man, he is, do not resent him." Yoda sighed.

Naruto continued to stare into the old Master's eyes.

"A political idealist your old friend is. Changing things are, for the better I am uncertain." Naruto shook his head.

"Change is good though." Countered the young Knight.

"Our ways are not their ways, bound we are not to the same set of rules and ideals. Over this, we must look, guide them in the right way" Said Yoda.

"How can others put faith in something they know nothing about? Faith without action is meaningless." Yoda nodded.

"Agreed on that much, we do. Tell me, what is your role as a Jedi? Are we not the vehicle?" Asked the Grand Master.

"To protect and serve the people as a peacekeeper, not a politician." Answered Naruto.

"Does democracy not encourage peace?" Responded Yoda.

"Only if the people's views are truly represented by the selected few chosen to lead them." Naruto shook his head. "That's why Dooku left, he was critical of the current order of things?" Asked Naruto.

"Correct." Said Yoda in a soft voice.

"Are pacifism and cowardice the same? No? But perhaps we have forgotten. Why not address the corruption in the senate?!" Exclaimed Naruto. "Maybe if we weren't subservient and used our power-

"That. Is not our way, young one." Naruto's words died in his throat. Never had Yoda spoken to him with such authority. "Enforcing our will upon others, dominating the will of the force, cultivating our power – truly dark that path is." Warned Yoda.

"Do you agree with Dooku?" Asked Naruto.

"Understand I do, agree I do not." Said Yoda honestly.

"Things are happening." Naruto let out a loud sigh.

"Soldiers, we are not. Warriors, we are not. These things, feel threatened you should not. Clear your mind, sense your restlessness I do." Naruto closed his eyes.

"Master Syfo-Dias?" Asked Naruto in a hush tone.

"Correct you are. I suspect that the disappearance of Master Syfo-Dias and Dooku's defection are linked." Suggested Yoda.

"You would never tell me the full story." Naruto grunted scratching the side of his cheek.

Naruto gripped his pant legs.

"We will look into his disappearance, concern yourself with these matters you will not." Yoda shuffled in his chair. "Above your station, they are." Yoda smiled.

Naruto's red eyes opened and shifted to the beams of light coming through the blinds. He had an unshakable feeling – something was happening that made him uneasy.

"Discuss this later we will, meditate on these thoughts you must, rest from your mission." Said Yoda sighing softly.

Jedi Temple: Entrance

Kakashi walked up the stairs to the Jedi Temple, dressed in his usual robes, he rubbed the back of his neck. The weather was mildly warm, and a cool breeze blew through his spikey white hair. The Jedi Master sighed as he reached the top of the stairs, passing several Knights and Padawans. He calmly past Mace Windu with his arms crossed, an intense scowl adjourning his face. Kakashi ignored him, letting out a loud yawn. Windu continued to look forward.

After a few moments he broke his gaze and sighed. He turned heel and followed him.

"Oh Mace, I didn't see you there." Mocked Kakashi as Mace kept pace with him. "You're looking particularly cheerful today." He chuckled to himself.

"Kakashi, I hope the ambassadors of Ryloth were hospitable. How did it go?" Asked Mace.

"Oh, you know. This and that, no need to use a lightsabre." He paused for a second. "To what do I owe this pleasure?" Asked Kakashi with a yawn.

"I need you to investigate something." Kakashi shook his head.

"You don't seem to busy this afternoon. If you're asking me, it can wait." Said the silver haired Jedi.

"Actually. I think this situation demands your attention immediately." Said Mace in a solemn tone.

"Do tell." Kakashi stopped.

He and Mace moved out of the direct sunlight and into the side of the pillars leading toward the temple's entrance.

"We have reason to suspect that someone has been trying access the vault." Mace spoke in a hushed tone.

"Only high council members have the code to that vault." Responded Kakashi.

"I'm not talking about sections of the vault that stores holocrons. I'm talking about the forbidden sections of the vault, sections deep into the mountain. I've tried to keep the situation quiet as to not cause a panic. But not even I know what's down there." Said Mace in a solemn tone.

"You think it's a Jedi." Said Kakashi humming.

"There are only 3 Jedi in this era that have been down there." Kakashi shook his head. Mace continued. "I'm on my way to inform Master Yoda. You must stop whomever it is from entering such a place and stealing whatever horrific things from the old Republic are down there." Without waiting for a response he turned heel and left.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes, taking off in the opposite direction to begin his investigation.

Jedi Temple: Training Ground

The Next Day

Anakin had grown considerably during the past year. He had grown taller, now sporting Jedi robes and a Padawan braid. He practiced his sabre techniques; his form was improving. Obi-Wan looked on, opting to sit nearby underneath the shade of a tree. He observed the young Jedi, watching as he went through footwork drills with his newly crafted lightsabre gripped with both hands. The air at this altitude on Courscant was cleaner than down in the smoggy streets. He sat down next to Obi-Wan taking a sip of his drink, not saying anything.

Obi-Wan had grown as well, opting to grow his hair longer and becoming a few inches taller. He poured himself a cup of tea with his portable kettle, organising his cutlery in front of him. He reached to his side, grabbing a second cup and laying it next to him, filling it with liquid.

"I made up a new blend. Tell me what you think Naruto." He said continuing to watch Anakin.

"I haven't seen you in a few weeks. Did Master Yoda send you to a nicer spot this time?" Enquired Obi-Wan. "Can't have been worse than that time we had with Gundarks." Joke the Knight.

Naruto raised an eyebrow, taking another drink.

"Decidedly not." The blonde watched Anakin practice his sabre form. He turned his nose up as he observed, showing a displeased look.

Obi-Wan let out a small chuckle.

"Even Master Yoda was a beginner at some point in time, don't look so displeased." Said Obi-Wan waving him off. "He's a slow learner." Said Kenobi.

"Form 3 doesn't suit him." Said Naruto observing him.

Obi-Wan chuckled at the blonde's summation.

"That's precisely why he's learning it." Obi-Wan hummed.

"It's no wonder you don't have a Padawan of your own with all these helpful suggestions." Mocked Obi-Wan with a chuckle.

Naruto remained silent for a few moments.

"I've not considered it." He said solemnly.

"You know it's a requirement to become a Jedi Master, you're going to have to take one eventually." Said Obi-Wan with a sigh. "It's a great responsibility and honour. Just think, another you." Obi-Wan shuffled in his place.

"Perhaps it's not meant to be then." Said Naruto taking a small drink.

"You know I heard about Master Dooku. I'm sorry." Said Obi-Wan changing the subject.

Naruto took a moment.

"He has his reasons." Naruto shrugged. "I've already spoken to Yoda about the situation." Obi-Wan sighed.

"Did you consider following him? I know you and Dooku have been very close, since you were a boy." Obi-Wan turned to him with a serious look.

"I considered it." He said earning a head shake from his counterpart.

"You considered leaving the order, why?" Asked Obi-Wan.

"I think from what I understand his line of questioning led to dissatisfaction." Naruto took another drink from his tea. He shifted in his position.

"I suppose I've never thought about it that way." Admitted Obi-Wan. "How can one question your way of life?" Asked Naruto.

"How can you not?" Responded the blonde.

Obi-Wan stared at his own reflection in the tea, revealing his troubled look.

Jedi Temple: Training Room

That Night

Naruto breathed out loudly, clearing his mind. He tied a black cloth around his eyes.

"Don't be like that Naruto. When will you come visit, spread your special brand of happiness?" Said Padmé.

Naruto stood with his eyes closed in the middle of a training room located in the Jedi Temple.

The lightsabres on his right hip moved about as he stamped his foot on the ground, inhaling deeply. With an audible 'click' four blasters appeared around him, with another 'click' they all began to fire on him rapidly. He moved within the blasts calmly each of them passing harmlessly passed him. Suddenly, he disappeared in a burst of speed. Blaster bolts rained down on the ground where he jumped from.

"If a mission comes up, maybe." Responded Naruto.

Using a Force Grip on the oncoming bolts in mid-flight. He sent them back in their respective blasters, dismantling them all. He untied the cloth around his eyes, letting it fall to the floor.

"I'll request you next time there's trouble; you'll cheer me up." Padmé giggled elbowing him playfully in the ribs.

"Master Kakashi." He opened his red eyes.

The older Jedi Master's lazy expression came into view. He threw Revan's diary on the marble floor in front of him, it slid to a halt a few paces in front of him.

"Have I caught you at a bad time?" The older Jedi spoke in a neutral tone.

"Where did you get that?" Asked the blonde.

"I read it when I was younger, thought I had hidden it well enough, only told one person its whereabouts." Kakashi hummed and rested his hands behind his back.

"A friend gave me it." Said Naruto.

"Funny, I think we might have the same friend." Kakashi shifted in his position slightly.

"Now what?" He asked. "You've-

Before Naruto could open his mouth to answer he felt himself on the receiving end of a force push. He tried to counter, activating his blades, stabbing them into the floor. He slid across the marble despite his resistance, shattering the glass behind him flying outside, dangling over the city skyline. He grunted as the roaring wind hurt his ears, his vision clouded as his eyes became dry. His hands firmly clasped together above him, like he was bound. He looked down to the city below, his balance askew and he became disorientated. Kakashi walked lazily up to the edge of the window seal, his hands firmly in his pockets. Naruto's dual blades hovering next to him. He sighed as the blonde glared at him. The wind blew into the room with heavy force. Naruto grunted as the wind hurt his ears.

"How's it hanging?" The Master Jedi joked with a small chuckle.

"What is wrong with you?!" Naruto exclaimed struggling against his grip.

"Can you hear me? It's a little windy tonight." Kakashi taunted lazily.

The old Master placed the book in the large pouch on his belt. Naruto yelled at the top of his lungs.

"Both you, and your friend are going to be expelled from the Jedi order." Said Kakashi.

Naruto had a mixed reaction, unable to process the information.

"You can't do that, you have to put it to a vote." Kakashi shook his head.

"So, as long as you're just hanging around, let me give you some advice about respecting your elders." Kakashi tightened his grip.

"And what's that?" Naruto gritted his teeth.

The silver-haired man shrugged, pulling two silver bells attached to strings from his left pocket.

"Bells?!" Yelled the blonde. "What kind of half-baked lesson is this?" Naruto balled his fists cracking his knuckles.

"If you can take a bell from me in under 10 minutes I won't say a word to anyone. You and Obi-Wan will be free to roam down there as much as you'd like." He said smiling behind his mask. "If you can't take a bell in that, you and Obi-Wan will be expelled from the Jedi order." Naruto's lip quirked upward.

"Some deal." Naruto shook his head.

"You only need to surrender, only you will be expelled and Obi-Wan will remain here where he belongs." Kakashi pulled a small monitor from the pocket on his belt.

He activated the small device and a hologram of Naruto appeared along with a list of mission archives from the past 6 months.

"Your mission log has been quite successful as of late, 4 C-Rank missions, 5 B-Rank missions, 1 A and 2 SS. Much too busy for a Jedi Knight and not 1 mission failed, you must fancy your chances. Why, with all the advice that book has been giving you, you're well advanced beyond your years." Kakashi surmised.

Naruto gave him an angry look. Kakashi put the device back in his pocket. Clicking the option for the stopwatch.

"Why not just turn me in?" asked Naruto.

Kakashi sent the blonde's lightsabres toward him, whilst attaching the bells to his belt. A few tense moments past.

"Compassion and mercy are key traits of a Jedi." Said Kakashi.

"Funny way of showing it." Naruto bit back.

"Are you sure?" Asked Kakashi.

Naruto didn't respond, finally stopping his struggle. Breath an angry sigh, he narrowed his red eyes.

"Fine." He growled.

"Begin." Said Kakashi without warning.

Naruto and his lightsabres fell, his eyes not leaving Kakashi's figure. He fell several stories, grabbing a hold of his sabres. He twisted his body, channelling force energy to his feet and launching himself through a window. Breaking through the glass he flipped backward landing on his feet. Naruto stood to his feet on the carpeted floor, dusting off his clothes. He closed his eyes reaching out to the force, calming himself.

"You're going to pay for that." He warned opening his red eyes.

Kakashi gracefully floated through the window opening. He held his lightsabre to his side, activating it, revealing its yellow colour. Naruto activated his green and blue blades, looking into Kakashi's eyes and falling into his regular stance.

Kakashi adjusted his feet slightly.

The older Jedi remained largely casual as Naruto's eyes darted back from the bells to his feet. Kakashi raised an eyebrow as Naruto disappeared in a burst of speed, thrusting his blade into at Kakashi's neck. The old Master calmly sidestepped the attack. Naruto jumped back toward Kakashi, attempted a backward stab.

"Bold of you boy." Kakashi used his momentum against him. He knocked him to the side, spinning and slashing horizontally at the blonde.

Naruto parried him. The pair viciously traded blows, reaching the end of the hallway.

Kakashi stood up straight with his chest out, holding his free hand out.

"Form 2." Naruto narrowed his eyes.

The pair engaged again, however Kakashi's form dramatically changed. His movements were different, and less power was put behind his attacks, exchanging power for fluidity. He pushed Naruto back, forcing him to retreat and jump away. The blonde threw his green lightsabre toward the Master. Kakashi stopped the blade using the force to bring it to his free hand. Without warning he threw the lightsabre back at him. A yellow stream of lightning erupted from his free hand, reflecting off the green blade, it shot out in all directions. Naruto blocked the lightning with his remaining blue blade, calling his green back to his free hand and fending off the attack with both his blades in a cross formation. The Knight struggled against the lightning, until he redirected it away from him. He squinted, struggle to see.

Naruto took a step forward, gripping his sabres tightly.

"Just say the word." Kakashi patted the bells on his hip.

Naruto sighed, closing his eyes. They remained shut as he engaged Kakashi in several series of flurries. Kakashi swept Naruto off his feet, channelling the force and holding him in place. Naruto grunted as he held both of his hand together, send a strong force push toward the wall, sending him back out the window. Kakashi held his blade in front of him, he skidded back a few paces. He smiled, taking off after the blonde.

Naruto landed in the Jedi Gardens. Various patches of grass and numerous trees, plants and shrubbery scattered amongst the stone floor. This pattern continued around the outside of the temple in square patches. The thick brush and trees grew periodically, making majority of this section green. The blonde jumped into a thick group of trees, masking his figure from sight. The Gardens at the present time was empty.

Kakashi landed softly with his sabre yellow active. He scanned the area, standing to full height he walked deeper into the gardens. The master held his blade to right side. Steeping onto the green grass his eyes slowly scanned the area and up toward the trees. Turning calmly, he swung, cutting a small pebble in half. He jumped back avoiding a swing from the blonde. Naruto's blue blade sailed past him. The Knight jumped out of the shrubbery, using a force pull he recalled the blade back. Kakashi quickly stabbed used a strong force pull to launch himself upward. Naruto caught his blade and jumped after him swiftly. He reached out, his hand grazing a bell. He winced as Kakashi gripped his wrist, pulling him closer. The old Master twisted his body, delivering a roundhouse kick to Naruto's face. The blonde flipped backward, landing roughly on the grass. He spat out a small amount of blood.

Naruto rushed forward only to be stopped as Kakashi held a hand toward him. Sensing the danger he dived to the left. The ground splintered and flew toward Naruto. He cut the bits of dirt as he back peddled. Kakashi appeared behind him, kicking his leg out from underneath him. The Knight landed on his back, Kakashi's yellow blade held closely to his throat. Naruto's blades fell to his side, deactivated.

"Now, I can turn you and Obi-Wan in and return the book." Said the Master.

The Knight paused for a few seconds, sighing angrily.

"I surrender." Said Naruto suddenly.

"Why?" Asked Kakashi. "Its only been 5 minutes." Kakashi pulled out his timer momentarily. He placed it back in his pouch quickly.

Naruto's voice simmered for several moments. The air around the gardens, suddenly returned to its usual peaceful quiet.

"Obi-Wan promised Qui-Gon he'd train Anakin." Naruto relented softly.

The blonde called his blade hilts to his right hand, hanging them both on the right side of his belt. He dusted himself off, crossing his arms. Making eye-contact with Kakashi who deactivated his yellow blade, securing it to his belt.

Kakashi took a few seconds, composing himself. He called Naruto's lightsabres to his hand. Naruto didn't react.

"Qui-Gon was my friend. A good one." Said Kakashi solemnly.

Naruto took a few moments, digesting the sincere statement. The wind in the grassy area began to pick up and leaves began to blow. Kakashi tapped him on the forehead with his index and middle fingers.

"You're going to need to be more adept at other forms other than your Jar'Kai variant if you don't want to make a liar out of Qui-Gon Jinn." Said Kakashi.

Naruto gave him a questioning look.

"Come now, picking up that progressive sensory ability isn't nearly enough. Qui-Gon told me about the Sith you encountered, and it's clear that preparations must be made." Naruto narrowed his eyes. "You fought the apprentice not the Master, Naruto. You're not going to be ready at this rate." Kakashi moved his hands behind his back.

"That's rather vague, ready for what?" Kakashi pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Come, Obi-Wan should be waiting for us." Placing his hand on the young Knight's shoulder he ushered him away.

"Obi-Wan?" Asked Naruto.

"You know, he had faith that you'd pass my test, honestly, I sure didn't." Kakashi shrugged.

Jedi Temple: Inner Sanctum, Holocron Vault.

The Holocron Vault was found along the outer edges of the Jedi Archives, shielded by a pair of dilating security doors. A circular hallway between the two contained security lasers which could detect movement, which activated a senses dulling alarm. Official access to the Vault was only allowed to the twelve Jedi Masters with seats on the high council, who could activate the lock using the Force. The holocrons lit the circular chamber of Vault with a faint blue glow and a pillar held these artefacts of knowledge.

Obi-Wan stood in the corner of this room, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Naruto and Kakashi stepped through the Vault doors. Obi-Wan gave Naruto a coy smile, causing the blonde to shake his head. The pair exchanged looks as Kakashi rested his hands on their shoulders respectively. He paused for a second, taking a deep breath.

"A generation which ignores history has no past and no future." He stepped between the two pressing his right hand against the wall.

A light blue pattern appeared on the wall, creating a door shape. The wall disappeared in a burst of blue lights, revealing a large staircase. Two streams of blue lights appeared in a downward pattern on either side of the staircase, revealing the old stone and the depth of the mountain.

"It feels….." Obi-Wan trailed off.

"Different." Finished Kakashi. The Jedi Master stepped into the passageway first, followed by the two Knights. With each step the air became thicker, making it harder for their lungs to use oxygen efficiently.

"Be mindful of your breathing, the gravity increases every step." Explained Kakashi.

The trio's footsteps echoed downward.

"Gravity?" Asked Obi-Wan. "Qui-Gon never told me about this place." His voice bounced off the wall.

"Well, gradually as you consume the knowledge upstairs eventually you'd have come across it." Explained Kakashi. "The old Masters built this place to protect Jedi from the temptation of abusing its power, eventually its been all but forgotten about." He ran his

"Why did you bring us here?" Asked Naruto in a solemn tone.

"I suppose we have a long walk. There's a lot Qui-Gon didn't tell you, that man." Kakashi chuckled. "Syfo-Dias, Qui-Gon, Dooku and myself all belonged to a group of Jedi scholars, just like our Masters before us, Scholaris." Obi-Wan hummed.

"Scholar." Explained the young Knight.

"I suppose now with Syfo-Dias and Qui-Gon dead, Dooku is gone so I suppose it's just me." Naruto shook his head.

"I understand Obi-Wan, but me? My Master was never in this group." Said Naruto.

"Actually, I asked to train you. However, Dooku convinced me to let it go." Kakashi sighed. "He felt like Jedi who had a narrow view of the order could never fully embrace membership in Scholaris. So, we opted to encourage Kit to take you as his pupil." Naruto mumbled to himself softly.

"Dooku was the one that found me, why didn't he take me as his Padawan?" Asked Naruto.

"That question is something you'll need to ask him, if you ever see him again." Naruto pursed his lips.

"So what do you do? What is Scholaris' purpose?" Asked Obi-Wan in a curious tone.

"We as a group believe that knowledge and power shouldn't be feared but shared. We believe that the Jedi should be more active in their role as peacekeepers. Involved in democracy, economics, welfare, humanitarianism and philanthropy." The Master explained.

"Talk is cheap." Joked Obi-Wan.

"Surely you have a more profound response than that." Naruto scoffed.

"I haven't had enough time to think of one." Kakashi pinched the tip of his nose and groaned.

For the next minute they walked in silence. Despite Obi-Wan's attempt to diffuse the situation with humour he did feel the weight of these statements – revelations that his Master had a design on his discipleship. That he had chosen him to lead the way.

"What is this feeling?" Asked Obi-Wan.

"Few know the origin of the Jedi Temple." Started Kakashi. "The Temple was secretly built atop a powerful vergence in the force, one that had originally been claimed by the Sith and had consequently been transformed. This signified the Sith's dominance over the force and the Courscant. This powerful change led to a war between the Jedi and the Sith. Overtime, the Sith were driven back from Coruscant, and the Jedi claimed the vergence for themselves, and established this temple signify their victory and to turn this vergence back to the light." The boys were shocked.

"Just like on Tatooine." Said Naruto.

"Yes, each vergence has a purpose. Some give powers, wisdom and many other gifts. Some appear briefly like the one Tatooine that gave you your ability." Explained Kakashi.

"What were those droids?" Asked Naruto.

"Qui-Gon believed that the vergence you felt was a gateway into the past." Said Kakashi. "Farfetched I know." The Master shrugged.

"This is all too much." Said Obi-Wan rubbing his eyes.

"He's leading us down a secret stairwell, built into a mountain that two ancient groups at war fought over due to philosophical differences, he belongs to a different secret group, apparently one that we're about to join – seems to just be a footnote at this point really." Said Naruto crossing his arms.

"Whenever you talk, something terrible always happens." Obi-Wan mumbled.

"Those droids were from the past weren't they?" Asked Naruto.

"Those droids you fought haven't been manufactured for thousands of years. They were Jedi-Killing droids, made by the Sith Empire." Kakashi breathed in the tense air.

The trio came to the end of the stairwell.

"Here we are." Announced Kakashi.

The floors, walls, and pillars of the Vault were covered in blue glyphs that appeared slightly brighter when the group stepped over them. Around the square space were 4 stone pillars that had a slight glow, two of which were dimmed, and the others were a yellow colour. The space funnelled into a narrow hallway with a large door with the Jedi symbol adjourning it.

"Four members, four items from past Masters, passed down that allow us to serve the people in a different capacity." Kakashi gestured to an empty pillar. "These items are passed down from one member to another of their choosing." Explained Kakashi.

"Artefacts." Mused Obi-Wan.

"The diary of Revan, the founder of our group. This item shows us knowledge of the force, it belongs to me." He pointed to the other empty pillar. "The Amulet of Shatele-Shan, Grandmaster of the Jedi order during the Old Republic, taken by Dooku. This item gives its owner incredible powers of intuition and presence. Shatele used this item in rebuilding the Jedi order after the war with The Sith." He then turned to the two boys gesturing to the other two glowing pillars.

"These items belonged to Syfo-Dias and Qui-Gon." Kakashi shook his head.

On farthest pillar away from the trio a ring floated above the light, it was plain silver. Naruto eyed it for a second, taking in its form. He studied it for a few moments, breathing out heavily.

"Sengoku Jidai." He mumbled below a whisper.

Kakashi continued without hearing him.

"We're not sure whom it belonged originally; Syfo-Dias' Master told him that it's supposed to give its user great power. But he felt that he was never a good enough fit to use it." Explained Kakashi.

The older Jedi walked over to the other pillar as Obi-Wan stepped toward it.

"Qui-Gon intended to give to you Obi-Wan." Obi-Wan's blue eyes locked onto the item.

Above the pillar floated a small black compass attached to a thin bracelet. The compass' needle was covered by a small glass bubble.

"This item belonged to a great deal of powerful Jedi Masters. It gives its user a magnified force power. It allows the user to see into the past and the future clearly." Explained Kakashi.

"Magnified?" Asked Obi-Wan.

"These items have the power to increase our ability to use the force and bring out new powers." Responded Kakashi.

"So strange." Obi-Wan walked over to the compass.

The young Knight put his hand the compass. Suddenly a blinding light erupted from the artifact. The trio shielded their eyes from its intensity.

Naruto's red eyes fluttered open. He found himself in a simple dwelling with one main room. His gaze eventually travelled to a middle-aged man dressed in simple Jedi robes. The older man sat on a tattered couch with a smile adjourning his face. The stranger brushed his medium-length brown hair out of his eyes, leaning back.

"Hello old friend." The older gentleman sighed and looked at him kindly.
