Possibilities

Chapter 22

Sasha and Ivan were graduating today!

I was a basket case, as of next week Ivan was leaving for early entry into MIT. He'd turned his grades around after that trip with my dad and graduated in the Top 10 of his class and Sasha was in the Top 5. Ivan was brilliant with building and designing things and was majoring in Civil Engineering, Sasha was starting University of Washington, but because she was young, she'd be living at home and she wanted to become a child psychologist, because she wanted to help children who had been abused, had depression or abandoned, she'd went to one a few times in the beginning because of her time in the orphanage.

The twins are thriving! They're both in competitive soccer and excelling in school. They've had the same group of great friends for the past two years and we've had countless sleepovers and parties with this group; Demetri and I have even become friends with a few of the parents.

JC and Dashia are doing great. Dashia had a rough start, but after occupational and physical therapy the past two years, she's a happy 6-year-old in kindergarten. JC is in second grade and still in love with Regina, but he's also found the love of baseball, so we're always on the go with these kids.

My dad was finally moving closer, he and his now girlfriend Elizabeth (who was his nurse) had been together for awhile now, she accepted a job at Seattle General and they were going to live in the loft, it was perfect for them. Jessica and Mike were still Jessica and Mike, she'd gotten a little better, but she still thought I tried to out do her in everything, when I could honestly care less, and Mike was aloof as ever. James, Irina, and the kids were doing great, they had a small ceremony about a year ago in our garden and Irina was due any day with their own child, a boy. James has been running the new Vodka distribution center that Demetri opened up here and was a business natural, Demetri had James taking classes as well for business, James and Irina had bought a house a few down from us, it was nice having them close.

As for Demetri and I, Demetri worked just as hard as always, but always took time for his family and I was taking pictures again, but with limited openings. Our family was happy and healthy, and we couldn't be happier.

Despite all our ups and downs, our dreams did come true and Demetri made it possible for me to find and believe in love again.
