My name is Eli Tal-gunn,when I was thirteen, the Jedi order was wiped out across the galaxy,as far as I am concerned,I am the last of the Jedi.

The earth kingdom has fallen,Neo is..gone,and we are trapped behind enemy lines, forced to hide in plain sight.

Our only hope for victory is the day of black sun, where an eclipse will take place and thus taking away the fire nation's power.

I don't know if we'll win,but one thing I do know,Xever will pay,and the avatar lives.

Star wars:the last airbender

Book three:Fire

(Que opening:Rewrite:Fullmetal Alchemist)

On a late dark night in the fire nation, the group was sitting around a campfire listening to ghost stories, and it was Sokka's turn to tell one.

"Suddenly."He said.

"They heard something down the hall in the dark,oooh...It came into the torchlight,and...they knew the blade of Wing Fung was Haunted...Ooh-ahh!"

"I think I like "The man with a sword for a hand"better."Aang said,as he and the others were unimpressed.

"I liked Eli's story about the brain worms."Toph mentioned.

"Heh,you would."Sokka said.

"He wasn't even there for that."

"No,but it did happen."Eli said, sitting on a huge root behind Sokka.

"I've got one."Katara Said.

"And it's a true southern water tribe story."

"Is this one of those "a friend of my cousin knew some guy that this happened to"stories?"Sokka asked.

"No,it happened to Mom."

This got everyone's attention.

"One winter, when Mom was a girl,a snowstorm buried the village for weeks,a month later,Mom noticed she hadn't seen her friend Nini since the storm.

"So Mom and some others went to check on Nini's family, when they got there,no one was home, just a fire flickering in the fireplace, while the men went out to search,Mom stayed in the house.

"When she was alone, she heard a voice:"I'm so cold and I can't get warm.",Mom turned and saw Nini standing by the fire, she was blue like she was frozen,Mom ran outside for help, but when everyone came back….Nini, was gone!"

"Where'd she go?"Sokka asked, hiding behind Eli and the tree root.

"No one knows,Nini's house stands empty to this day,but sometimes, people see smoke coming up from the chimney, like little Nini is still trying to get warm."

"Wait guys do you hear that?"Toph suddenly said, making Katar,Sokka, and Aang huddle around each other in fear.

"I hear people under the mountain, and they're screaming."

"Pft,nice try Toph."Sokka said,not believing her.

"I'm serious,I hear something."

"She's never been wrong before."Eli said,as he stood up and walked over to Toph.

"Where do you hear them?"

"It's just stopped."Toph said.

"Hello Children."A new voice said, making everyone huddle together.

But they saw that it was just an old lady.

"Sorry to frighten you."She said.

"My name is Hama, you children shouldn't be out in the forest by yourselves at night.

"I have an inn nearby, why don't you come back there for some spiced tea and warm beds?"

"Yes please."Sokka said sheepishly.

As everyone began to walk to where Hama was,Eli looked back to where Toph had felt the people,if what she said was true, then something was not right here.

A while later, everyone had made it to Hama's Inn and were sitting around a table drinking tea.

"Thanks for letting us stay here tonight."Katara said.

"You have a lovely inn."

"Aren't you sweet?"Hama said.

"You know you should be careful, people have been disappearing in those woods you were camping in."

"What do you mean "disappearing"?"Sokka asked, nervous.

"How else would she mean disappearing?"Eli asked.

"When the moon turns full, people walk in,and they don't come out….who wants more tea?"

Everyone just looked at her in silence, not sure how to take what she just said.

"I'll have more tea."Eli said, raising his glass.

"Don't worry, you'll all be completely safe here, why don't I show you to your rooms and you can get a good night's rest?"Hama said as she poured more tea into Eli's cup.

Later that night,Sokka was trying to go to sleep, but he just kept hearing weird noises, and even Momo started getting freaked out.

"I know Momo."He said.

"This place is creepy,I don't know if I'm gonna be able to fall asleep!"

About two seconds later,Sokka was fast asleep.

Over in Eli's room,he was sitting on his bed meditating, images kept flashing into his mind, his fight with the elite guards women, his lightsaber getting destroyed, his talk with Toph, and finally Neo being killed, which finally broke his focus as his eyes shot wide open, and he began breathing hard,he got out of bed and walked over to the window in his room,as he looked out it,h thought he saw someone walking around the village, but he couldn't get a clear view of who it was, however,he could have sworn that it looked like Hama, with nothing better to do,he decided to go back to bed.

The next morning, everyone was out in the market, picking up food for everyone,Sokka looked liked he had had a hard time sleeping.

"That Mister Yao seems to have a thing for you."Katara said to Hama after they had left a vendor.

"Maybe we should go back and see if he'll give us some free komodo sausages?"

"You want me to use my feminine charms to take advantage of that poor man?"Hama asked seriously, but then turned amused.

"I think you and me,are gonna get along just fine."

As they continued on,Aang,Sokka,Eli,and Toph noticed two men talking about the full moon.

"You won't have any ash bananas till next week?"The customer asked.

"Well,I have to send the boy to Hing wa island to get them."The vendor replied.

"And it's a two day trip."

"Oh right,tomorrow's the full moon."

"Exactly, and I can't lose another delivery boy in the woods."

"People disappearing in the woods, weird stuff happening during full moons, this just reeks of spirit world shenanigans."Sokka said.

"You think Hei bei is acting up again?"Eli asked.

"No,he's the spirit of another forest."Aang replied.

"He wouldn't care what happens here,I bet if we take a walk around town,we'll find out what these people did to the environment to make the spirits mad."

"And then you can sew up this little mystery lickety-split avatar style."

"Helping people..that's what I do."

"That's great guys, but you think you might wanna not use the "A" word in fire nation territory?"Eli pointed out.

The three eventually caught up with the three ladies.

"Why don't you take all those things back to the inn?"Hama suggested.

"I just have to run a couple more errands."

"Do you need any help?"Eli asked.

"No no,I'll be back in a little while."

"This is a mysterious town you got here."Sokka said

"Mysterious town,for mysterious children."Hama said,before walking away.

The group had eventually returned to the inn where they started putting the supplies away.

"That Hama seems a little strange."Sokka said.

"Like she knows something,or she's hiding something."

"That's ridiculous."Katara defended.

"She's a nice woman who took us in and gave us a place to stay, she kind of reminds me of Gran-gran."

"But what did she mean by that comment "mysterious children"?"

"Oh,I don't know, maybe because she found five strange kids camping in the woods at night, isn't that a little mysterious?"

"Kids camping in the woods?"Eli said.

"No,that's normal,an old lady just so happens to come across our camping spot, just as Toph thinks she hears people's voices in the mountain, yes."

"What are you saying, that an old can somehow make people disappear into thin air?"

"I'm just saying that Sokka's right."

This got weird looks from everyone, even from Sokka.

"Yeah I never thought I'd say it either, but this isn't the first time we've met someone who we thought was a friend and it turned out they were trouble, remember when we first met Jet,we thought he was a good guy,but it turned out he was just as dangerous as the fire nation."

"But that's different,Jet was a fighter,Hama is just an old lady."

"Even old ladies have secrets."

"I'm gonna take a look around."Sokka said,as he walked up the stairs.

"Sokka,Sokka what are you doing?"

Eli soon followed after Sokka, with Katara,Aang, and Toph not far behind.

"You can't just snoop around someone's house."

"Have you not met this group?"Eli asked.

"It'll be fine."Sokka said.

"She could be home any minute."Aang cautioned.

Sokka noticed a cupboard and began trying to tug it open.

"Sokka, you're gonna get us all in trouble, and this is just plain rude."Katara said.

"I'm not finished yet,come on!"

Suddenly, the cupboard doors swung open and a bunch of puppets came out, scaring everyone and causing Sokka to pull out his sword.

"Careful,I think they can smell fear."Eli said as he walked past everyone.

"Ok,that's pretty creepy."Aang said,as he hid behind Katara.

"So she's got a hobby."Katara said.

"There's nothing weird about that."

The group made their way up the stairs to the attic.

"Sokka, you've looked enough,Hama will be back soon."

Just an ordinary puppet-loving innkeeper huh?"Sokka asked.

"Well then why does she have a locked door up here?"

"Probably to keep people like you and Eli from snooping through her stuff."

"We'll see."

The two siblings turned around and saw that Eli had used the force to unlock the door and walked into the room.

"Eli,Eli!"Katara said,as she and the rest of the group followed him inside.

"It's empty."Said Eli.

"Except for this little chest."

Eli then picked it up and examined it.

"Maybe it's treasure."Toph exclaimed.

Sokka's eyes then brightened up as he snatched it from Eli's hands and began looking at it.

"We shouldn't be doing this."Aang said.

"Maybe there's a key somewhere."Sokka said.

"Oh,hand it over."Toph said,as she pulled out the meteorite and bent it into a key.

She then started to try and unlock it.

"Come on,come on!"

"This isn't as easy as it looks."

"Guys,I don't know about this."Aang said.

"This is crazy."Katara declared.

"I'm leaving.

"Suit yourself."Eli said.

"Do it Toph."

As soon as she had gotten it open, everyone was huddled around her trying to see what was inside, when they heard a voice behind them.

"I'll tell you what's in the box."Hama said,surprising everyone.

Sokka then respectfully handed the box over to Hama, who then pulled out an old blue comb.

"An old comb?"Sokka asked.

"Not just any old comb."Eli said,as he walked over to Hama, and gently took the comb and examined it.

"A water tribe comb."

This got Katara and Sokka's attention.

"It's my greatest treasure."Hama explained.

"It's the last thing I own from growing up in the southern water tribe."

"You're from the Southern water tribe?"Katara asked in excitement.

"Just like you."

"How did you know?"

"I heard you talking around your campfire."

This got Eli's attention,if what Hama said was true, then there was a three minute window between Katara telling the story of her mother and Hama revealing herself, now he really wanted to know what she was doing in the woods.

"But why didn't you tell us?"Sokka asked.

"I wanted to surprise you,I bought all this food today so I could fix you a big water tribe dinner.

"Of course,I can't get all the ingredients I need here, but ocean kumquats are a lot like sea prunes if you stew them long enough."

"Great."Aang said, remembering that time with Bato.

"I knew I felt a bond with you right away."Katara said.

"And I knew you were keeping a secret,so I guess we're both right."Sokka added, though he got an annoyed look from Katara.

"But I'm sorry we were sneaking around."

"Apology accepted,now,let's get cooking."

Later that night, after Aang fed Momo,Appa, and Balto, everyone was sitting at the table.

"I'd steer clear of the sea prunes."Aang whispered to Toph.

"I thought they were ocean kumquats?"Toph asked.

"Close enough."Eli added.

"Just hold your nose and hope it doesn't come back up."

"Who wants five flavored soup?"Hama asked.

Everyone raised their hands, she then waterbent the soup into everyone's bowls.

"You're a waterbender!"Katara said delighted.

"I've never met another waterbender from our tribe!"

"That's because the fire nation wiped them all out,I was the last one."

"So how'd you end up in this place?"Eli said, becoming more and more suspicious of Hama by the second.

"I was stolen from my home."Hama began.

"It was over sixty years ago, when the raids began, they came again and again, each time rounding up more of our waterbenders and taking them captive.

"We did our best to hold them off,but our numbers dwindled as the raids continued, finally,I too was captured.

"I was led away in chains, the last waterbender of the southern water tribe."

Katara walked over and comforted Hama,as a grandchild comforts her grandmother,as everyone just sat there and listened to her story,Eli on the other hand, was just curious about one thing.

"How'd you get away?"He asked.

"I'm sorry,it's too painful to talk about anymore."Hama said.

"I'm sure it is,excuse me."

As Eli left the room,Katara continued to comfort Hama.

"We lost our mother in a raid."Katara said.

"Oh you poor things."

"I can't tell you what it means to meet you,it's an honor, you're a hero."

"I never thought I'd meet another southern waterbender,I'd like to teach you what I know so you can carry on the southern tradition when I'm gone."

"Yes,yes of course,to learn about my heritage,it would mean everything to me."

Later that night,as everyone was going to bed,Katara confronted Eli as he went into his room.

"So,are you convinced now?"Katara said smugly.

"No."Said Eli.

"Now I'm more convinced than ever that she knows something."

"Didn't you hear what she said, the fire nation took her from her home and held her in captivity."

"Uh huh and how did she escape?"

"I don't know, but she clearly doesn't like talking about it."

"Trust me Katara,I don't know how,but she's connected somehow."

"I don't think Neo would approve of you accusing someone without proof,he'd be ashamed of what you've become."

"And what have I become Katara, hmm, please tell me."
"You've become reckless, distant, you've closed yourself off from the rest of us,you don't make jokes,I haven't even seen you laugh once, you've even stopped flirting with Toph, you've changed."

"Well sorry,I guess I just have a harder time letting go of the closest thing I had to a brother,we can't all move on as fast as Katara, tell me,did you move on this fast when your mother died."

"What did you…"

"Ok that's enough, both of you."Sokka said, cutting in between the two.

"Let's go to bed."

Katara then walked away to her room,as Eli was about to walk into his,Sokka stopped him.

"That was low Eli."He said.

"Believe me,we all miss Neo,but bringing up our mother that way, that's not cool man."

Sokka then went to bed,as Eli walked into his room.

The next day,Katara and Hama were walking outside the village,as Hama began to teach her everything she knew about waterbending.

"Growing up in the south pole, waterbenders are totally at home surrounded by snow and ice and seas."Hama explained.

"But as you probably noticed on your travels, that isn't the case wherever you go."

"I know."Katara said.

"When we were stranded in the desert,I felt like there was almost nothing I could do."

"That's why you have to control water wherever it exists."

"I've even used my own sweat for waterbending."
"That's very resourceful Katara, you're thinking like a true master, but did you know you could even pull water out of thin air."

With a quick wave of her hand,Hama managed to form water from the air, impressing Katara in the process.

"You've got to have an open mind Katara."Hama said,as the water turned to ice on her fingertips.

"There's water in places you never think about."

She then flung the ice picks into a nearby tree.

Meanwhile, the others were conducting their investigation into the possible spirit that's been taking people, the only problem...they couldn't find anything.

"This has got to be the nicest natural setting in the fire nation."Aang said.

"I don't see anything that would make a spirit mad around here."

"Maybe the moon spirits just turned mean."Toph added, which got a heavy reaction from Sokka.

"The moon spirit is a gentle loving lady!"He exclaimed.

"She rules the sky with compassion and..lunar goodness!"

Now that the awkwardness was over,Aang noticed a young man with a sack returning to the village.

"Excuse me sir."He said.

"Can you tell us anything about the spirit that's been stealing people?"

"Only one man can."The villager said.

"And that's old man Ding."

"Where can we find him?"Eli asked.

Back with Katara and Hama, they were now standing in the middle of a flower field.

"They're called fire lilies."Hama explained.

"They only bloom a few weeks of the year, but they're one of my favorite things about living here, and like all plants and all living things, they're filled with water."

"I met a waterbender who lived in a swamp and could control the vines by bending the water inside."Katara said, remembering Yu.

"You can take it further."

Hama then did a twirl as she brought water out from the lilies, causing them to die,she then sent the water into a rock, cutting it into several pieces.

"That was incredible."Katara said, but then gotta look at the dead lilies.

"It's a shame about these lilies though."

"They're just flowers, when you're a waterbender in a strange land, you do what you must to survive.

"Tonight,I'll teach you the ultimate technique of waterbending,it can only be done, when the moon is full and your bending is at its peak."

"But,isn't that dangerous?"Katara asked.

"I thought people have been disappearing around here during the full moon."

"Oh Katara, two waterbending masters under a full moon,I don't think we have anything to worry about."

That night, the group had arrived at the home of old man Ding, who was trying to board up his house.

"Old man Ding?"Aang said,as they came up to him.

"Huh?"Old man Ding went,as he accidently hammered his thumb.

"Ow,dang blame it,what can't you see I'm busy,I'm not that old."

He then attempted to pick up the wood he dropped, but to no avail.

"Well,I'm young at heart."

Aang then proceeded to help Ding pick the wood up,as Sokka picked up his hammer.

"Did you get a good look at the spirit that took you?"Aang asked.

"Didn't see no spirit, just felt something come over me,like I was possessed.

"Forced me to start walking towards the mountain,I tried to fight it,but I couldn't control my own limbs,it just about had me in a cave up there, and I looked up at the moon for what I thought would be my last glimpse of light."

"How'd you escape?"Eli asked.

"The sun started to rise and I got control of myself again,I just hightailed it away from that mountain as quick as I could!"

"Why would a spirit take people to a mountain?"Sokka asked,a little freaked at Ding's story.

"Oh no!"Toph exclaimed.

"I did hear people screaming under the mountain, the missing villagers must still be there!"

"You guys go on ahead,I'll catch up."Eli said, the three then took off running for the mountain.

"Old man Ding, what can you tell about the Innkeeper Hama?"

Sometime later,Toph,Aang, and Sokka had arrived at the campsite that they had stayed at before,as Toph touched the ground.

"I can hear them."She said.

"They're this way!"

They eventually arrived at a cave.

"This is the place."Toph said.

"I don't see anything."Sokka added.

"That's why you have me."
Taking both Aang and Sokka's hands,Toph lead them into the cave, they kept walking till they came upon a metal door where there were two torches on either side, using Earthbending,Toph pushed the door open,as she and the boys(who were now carrying the torches)ran in and found all the kidnapped villagers.

"We're saved!"One prisoner said,as Toph went to work on freeing them.

"I didn't know spirits could make prisons like this."Aang said.

"It was no spirit."Another prisoner said.

"It was a witch!"A third prisoner exclaimed.

"A witch?"Sokka asked.

"What do you mean?"

"She seems like a normal old lady, but she controls people like some dark puppetmaster!"

Realization then hit Sokka.

"Hama."He said gritting his teeth.

"Yes,the innkeeper."The first prisoner confirmed.

"I knew there was something crazy about her."

"Eli did too."Toph added.

"We have to stop Hama!"Aang said.

"I'll get these people out,you boys go."

After Sokka handed a torch to a prisoner,he and Aang ran to find Hama and Katara.

In a secluded part of the woods,Hama and Katara had gathered under the full moon.

"Can you feel the power the full moon brings?"Hama said.

"For generations it has blessed waterbenders with it's glow, allowing us to do incredible things,I've never felt more alive."

Veins then started popping up on her arms,Katara listened from a distance.

"What I'm about to show you,I discovered in that wretched fire nation prison…

"The guards were always very careful to keep water away from us,they piped in dry air and had us suspended away from the ground.

"Before giving us any water, they would bind our hands and feet so we couldn't bend, any sign of trouble was met with cruel retribution, and yet each month,I felt the full moon enriching me with its energy, there had to be something I could do to escape.

"Then I realized, where there is life, this is water.

"The rats that scurried across the floor of my cage were nothing more than skins filled with liquid and I passed years developing the skill that would lead to my escape...bloodbending.

"Controlling the water in another body, enforcing your own will over theirs.

"Once I had mastered the rats,I was ready for the men,and during the next full moon,I walked free for the first time in decades,my cell unlocked by the very guards assigned to keep me in.

"Once you perfect this technique, you can control anything or anyone."

"But..to reach inside someone and control them?"Katara said, not sure if she liked what she was hearing.

"I don't know if I want that kind of power."

"The choice is not yours, the power exists, and it's your duty to use the gifts you've been given to win this war.

"Katara, they tried to wipe us out,our entire culture, your mother!"
"I know."

"Then you should understand what I'm talking about,we're the last two waterbenders of the southern water tribe,we have to fight these people whenever we can, wherever we are, with any means necessary!"

"It's you!"Katara suddenly realized.

"You're the one who's been making people disappear during the full moons!"

"They threw me in prison to rot, along with my brothers and sisters, they deserve the same, you must carry on my work."

"I won't,I won't use bloodbending and I won't allow you to keep terrorizing this town!"

Suddenly,Katara's body started moving on it's own,as she tried to keep her arm from moving.

"You should've learned the technique before you turned against me."Hama said,as she proceeded to bring Katara to her knees.

"It's impossible to fight your way out of my grip,I can control every muscle, every vein in your body."

"Stop, please!"Katara pleaded with tears in her eyes,as she was now on her hands and knees.

Hama began to laugh at her success, but Katara started to call upon the power of the moon,as she began to stand up surprising Hama.

"You're not the only one who draws power from the moon!"She said with determination.

"My bending is more powerful than yours Hama, your technique is useless on me!"

Katara then brought up water from the ground and sent it towards Hama, who then redirected it towards Katara, who also managed to redirect it towards Hama, who had brought water out of two trees and sent them towards Katara,as well as the the water that Katara had redirected towards her.

Katara however managed to disperse the water into one huge splash, shocking Hama with how powerful she was.

Katara then brought two things of water, and used them to flip Hama around and made her fall to the ground.

Just then,Sokka and Aang had run up to the fight.

"We know what you've been doing Hama!"Sokka exclaimed.

"Give up,You're outnumbered!"Aang added.

"No!"Hama said as she got up.

"You've outnumbered yourselves."

She then bloodbended the two boys and sent them flying towards Katara, who did a side flip to avoid them and then sent a wave towards Hama, who had brought out water from a tree and spun it into a wheel,in order to block the wave Katara had sent her way.

"Katara look out!"Sokka shouted,as he brought out his sword and started swinging it wildly.

"It's like my brain has a mind of its own, stop it arms stop it!"

Katara brought water up from the ground and then shot it into Sokka's back making him fall to the ground.

"This feels weird!"Aang said,as he was coming up to Katara, who then used the water to blast Aang into a tree.

She then used the water to freeze him to the tree.

"Sorry Aang!"Katara said.

"That's ok."

Looking behind her,she saw that Sokka was starting to swing his sword again, causing Katara to shoot water at his hand and make him stick to another tree.

"Don't hurt your friends Katara!"Hama said warningly.

"And,don't let them hurt each other!"

Hama then crossed her arms and began to bring Aang and Sokka towards each other, with Sokka holding out his sword.

"NO!"Katara shouted, and she unfortunately was about to use bloodbending, when suddenly both Sokka and Aang stopped.

Hama started having trouble breathing and she reached for her throat,as she gagged and tried to breath for air.

"What's happening to her?"Sokka asked.

Katara saw something behind Hama, and saw that it was Eli,who was using force choke on the old waterbender, she remembered when Xever had done that to her in Ba Sing Se.

Everything seemed to slow down as Hama's dead body fell to the ground.

Katara,Sokka, and Aang's jaws dropped and eyes went wide,Toph and the prisoners arrived on the scene, everyone was shocked to see Hama dead,as Eli stood there in the moonlight,in complete shock by what he had done.

"Eli."Katara said.

"What did you do?"

Eli looked up at Katara's face,he looked to Sokka and then Aang, both were still in complete shock.

He then looked behind him and saw Toph in complete shock.

"I didn't..I mean I...I wasn't…"He tried to find the words, but simply just ran past everyone into the night, leaving everyone behind.

Neo's eyes shot open,as he sat up in his cage.

"Eli."He said.

On a hill overlooking the village, the hooded woman looked on in determination.

"It's time."She said.
