SPECIAL CROSSOVER TEASERS 1

So, here we are again with some new teasers. But unlike the last few times, these are of differing crossovers. So, without any further ado, let's begin...

FIRST TEASER

We fly over an arctic landscape, great snowbound planes near a freezing ocean. Then, we hear a vaguely-familiar voice of a young woman speak...

WOMAN (vo): Water. Earth. Fire. And Air. The four fundamental elements of my world. There are those who can manipulate these elements, known as 'Benders'.

Then, we see the Southern Water Tribe's settlement, with a Fire Nation icebreaker having broken through its pathetic defences.

WOMAN (vo): I grew up as a proud member of the Fire Nation, believing in our manifest destiny to conquer the world. But due to what I considered treachery at the time, I gained...perspective. Sent backwards in time, and across worlds, to one where Benders do not exist, only mages in hiding.

We then zoom in to see Zuko and Aang during their original encounter, Aang trying to desperately protect the Water Tribe that shunned him earlier, Zuko vicious and fixated on taking down the Avatar.

WOMAN (vo): My younger self would be disgusted with what I changed into, but I like to think of it as an evolution. I met another with a destiny almost as onerous as the Avatar. And together, we changed our destinies. Now, we will change those of others.

Suddenly, a blast of blue fire separates the two combatants, barely missing the other Fire Nation soldiers. In slow motion, we see Aang startled, even as he sees the azure flames take the form of rampaging beasts and monsters: in other words, Fiendfyre, yet of a colour this dark spell has never shown, and under someone's perfect control. Zuko's eyes are wide too, even the scarred one, but for another reason. He knows this particular hue of flames.

WOMAN (vo): The Avatar, a boy with the weight of the world on his shoulders. My brother, charged with capturing him in an impossible task by our sperm-donor. And so many others.

As the flames die away, we hear the crunching of snow, two sets of feet, heralding the advent of two people, walking towards the battlefield, well, strutting in one case. And humming. Someone is singing the Imperial March from Star Wars. A young woman, in modern clothing meant for cold weather, followed by a young man. Aang and the Water Tribe are simply staring in confusion, but Zuko and some of his soldiers are staring in confused recognition. They come to a stop, and we focus on a young man in his mid-twenties...a post-Hogwarts Harry Potter.

HARRY: ...You know they're not going to get the reference, right?

We shift from Harry's face to a close up of the woman's lips, quirked in a sardonic smile.

WOMAN (with undeniable affection): Just let me have this moment, Harry.

We then zoom out to see that it is in fact a certain princess. But she's no teenager like she should be. Rather, she's an adult about Harry's age...and yet, despite the same cruelty and cynicism being there, there's also a lot more. Compassion, kindness, and just enough other qualities to make her an anti-hero. She's wearing a set of sunglasses, which she takes off to reveal her usual amber orbs.

AZULA: Hello, Zuzu. Did you miss me?

SECOND TEASER

We see the Hogwarts Express stopped not far from Hogsmeade, on a cold and rainy night, at the beginning of Year 3. Dementors begin swarming around. Then, we hear a teenaged girl's voice speak, deep, powerful, and confident.

GIRL (vo): I know monsters. My father was a monster, who ruled and ravaged an entire country. And his treatment of me was appalling, especially after murdering a man who was brave enough to stand up to him. I sought to become more like that man, only to be shackled and left to rot and starve in a cave.

We board the Hogwarts Express, to see Dementors roaming, allegedly seeking Sirius Black, but probably looking for a good meal. We hear crying and weeping of students, and the unearthly noises of the Dementors.

GIRL (vo): Yet I was saved, by my fellow prisoners. I was given a chance to be free, even if it meant leaving the world of my birth. But one day, once I get stronger, I will go back.

As we focus on one compartment, with Harry, his friends, and Lupin beginning to get affected by an approaching Dementor, we hear...

GIRL (vo): For I am Kouzuki Oden come again.

Suddenly, a ripple of something tears through the compartment, startling the inhabitants, Harry roused from the verge of fainting. They look as the Dementor flees, screeching, followed by more. Then, a more humanoid, if hulking, shape charges past with a roar of fury, a blur of shadow. We hear some shaking noises and screaming. Lupin, oddly enough, relaxes, settling down.

LUPIN: It seems our new Care of Magical Creatures teaching assistant is handling them.

Harry, Hermione, and Ron are not convinced, especially as, once the screeches from the Dementors die down.

HERMIONE: But what was that...force we felt just then?

LUPIN: She calls it the Will of the Supreme King...Conqueror's Haki. Apparently she's already scared off some Dementors trying to encroach on Hogwarts.

Heavy footsteps tread their way, like some giant monster coming for them. A bent over silhouette with horns is seen dimly through the window, before it slides open to reveal...a teenager. True, she's quite tall, taller than them, tall enough to need to stoop to avoid banging her head on the ceiling, she has a pair of large orange horns on her head, and she's got a muscular frame. But her features are beautiful, if currently set in concern. Orange eyes peer at them, while her hair is white changing to aqua at the ends. She has jeans, a T-Shirt with the Japanese for 'Oden' on it, and a leather jacket, vaguely looking like a delinquent. In her hand is a massive metal club with studs, a kanabo. The Drums of Liberation remix of We Are!, remixed by Samuel Kim, starts stirring (at 28 seconds in).

GIRL: Hey, are you okay in here, Professor?

LUPIN: I was about to give them some chocolate, thank you, Yamato.

HARRY: Yamato?

YAMATO (with a smile): Yeah. The name's Kouzuki Yamato! Nice to meet you!

TEASERS ANNOTATIONS:

So, there you have it. Aside from a One Piece crossover I have been mulling over for a while and have mentioned in 'Tis Not a Sin to be Born, I am potentially embarking on an Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover...eventually. Neither of them are set in stone, but they show what possible story ideas I may be doing in the future.

Though in the case of Avatar: The Last Airbender, it may not be for a long time. I only recently started watching Book 1, and Azula doesn't get her debut properly until Book 2. In addition, someone has already beaten me to the punch of using one of my standard tropes when pairing Harry with a more morally-ambiguous or even evil character: using a soulbond to influence the pairing. If you're interested, the crossover in question is Draco Smaragdi Oculi by Christopher Perkins, and is recommended by me anyway.

So, as a potential workaround, one I may change if and when I do a crossover, I decided to do something not unlike my Rising of the Shield Hero crossover Not Your Kind of People, involving time-travel as well as being isekai'd. Only, instead of happening to Raphtalia, it happens to a pre-Book 1 Azula. I'm thinking one of the Spirits got involved, possibly after intercession from a pre-amnesia Ursa or else Iroh. It's in its earliest stages, obviously, and will have to wait until I start watching Book 2 at least before I start writing it.

As for the One Piece crossover, before y'all get up in arms about Yamato being spoken of as female, hear me out. I can name a few fanfics where Yamato is shown as female (One Piece: Halfway Broken by Novus Peregrine and the My Hero Academia crossover Heroes of the New World by Zaru in particular), and nothing in canon shows her to be actually a trans-man. Yes, that is one perfectly valid interpretation of her character, and if you want to write a fic along those lines, go for it. But after flicking through some of her scenes in the Wano arc, I believe her situation is closer in some regards to Mordred from the Nasuverse, more of an extreme tomboy who identifies as a man due to circumstances rather than genuine transsexuality (Mordred growing up in Arthurian times where knights could only be male, not to mention Morgan's manipulations, and Yamato being an extreme fangirl of Kouzuki Oden). So I am well within my rights to write a version of Yamato who identifies as female, just a fairly strong tomboy. However, her taking up Oden's surname while in the Potterverse shows that her admiration for Kouzuki Oden is still going strong.

Also, the thought of Conqueror's Haki being used to deter Dementors is an intriguing one...and I have another intriguing idea for Harry for that fic. I won't spoil the surprise, though.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed these teasers, and what could be yet to come. No promises, but maybe one day, they could come into being.

No numbered annotations this time.
