Never shall I forget you.
Never shall I forget the darkness.
Never shall I forget the confined space
below the church floorboards.
Never shall I forget how the gas gradually poured in
like a slithering snake.
Never shall I forget my strain to access the limited air
coming from outside the hole.
Never shall I forget the blinding light
when the crevice was opened.
Never shall I forget those blue eyes
like oceans
that I could swim in for eternity
and never find the bottom.
Never shall I forget your outstretched arms
reaching for me.
Never shall I forget my strangled cry
as I reached out for you.
Never shall I forget your soothing words.
Never shall I forget that cerulean hair,
that ferocious
yet kind smile,
and those bright eyes that showed you cared.
Never shall I forget how you threw away everything you knew
just for me.
Never shall I forget the warm hugs
and the tender touches.
Never shall I forget how my feelings grew,
how my heart would flutter in your presence.
Never shall I forget the moment I realized I loved you,
that reality shattering moment.
Never shall I forget the longing to tell you how I felt,
and still feel.
Never shall I forget that night,
that night we were under the stars,
the night I admitted how I thought about you.
Never shall I forget my rapidly beating heart
anxiously waiting for you to respond.
Never shall I forget the soft brush of lips
and the delighted shock that came from your answer.
Never shall I forget the look in your eyes that night,
those blue eyes
like oceans.
Never shall I forget how breathed out those words,
those four beautiful words, "I love you too".
Never shall I forget that day,
that horrific day,
that day that He found us.
Never shall I forget my terrified scream
as I saw them cut you down in cold blood.
Never shall I forget how you looked as they carried me away,
laying motionless on the ground,
surrounded by your own blood.
Never shall I forget the fear that you had died that night.
Never shall I forget the hope that you had survived.
Never shall I forget the sleepless nights
gazing out the window of my prison,
hoping I'll see you again.
Never shall I forget the day I did,
that glorious day.
Never shall I forget the night that followed,
how you showed me your love,
showed me that you'd protect me.
Never shall I forget how you promised to end this war.
Never shall I forget the night we snuck into his palace,
together, to end this.
Never shall I forget the exhilaration of fighting with you.
Never shall I forget the moment we were face to face with Him.
Never shall I forget how his sword came for me.
Never shall I forget the blue that filled my vision at that moment,
how you finished him in that moment.
Never shall I forget how you collapsed,
how you felt in my arms.
Never shall I forget the loving smile you gave me.
Never shall I forget how you caressed my face with your bloodied hand.
Never shall I forget how you said "I love you" one last time.
Never shall I forget how those blue eyes
like oceans
darkened and were drained of their crystal waters.
Never shall I forget how even in your last moments
you still only cared about my well being
and cast yours aside for me.

but everyone.

Hey guys! I was bored and decided to write a poem based on a concept I was working on for a story. In case you don't know yet, it's going to be GrimmIchi.
