This is mt first Spy vs Spy fanfic. It probably won't be the best, but it's been in my head for a while now. So I decided to write it.

"Dammit!"

Blood was leaving stains on his suit but that was the least of his worries. That bullet was meant for him, she wasn't even supposed to be there! His mind raced as he carried her out, moving as fast as he could. How did this even happen?

No assignments or at least none he was needed for. White actually smiled, days of no work are rare. He could still be called in at any time, but after the kind of week he's had (not counting encounters with black) he could use a little break. Better take advantage of it while it lasts.

Grabbing his hat on the way out, White decided to visit a new diner that just opened a few streets away. If it's any good it might turn into a regular stop. While the weather outside was decent, there didn't seem to be too many people out. White wasn't fond of crowds, but they made it easier to disappear if it ever becomes needed.

Walking into the diner, he strolled to the counter and took a seat. Whatever was cooking in the kitchen just behind the door beyond the counter smelled pleasant enough. Picking up the menu, he started to browse the selection.

He didn't pay any attention to the sound of the diner door opening until the person who came in was next to him.

"Is this seat taken?"

White glanced at the stranger. She smiled pleasantly and looked like anyone else in the diner that day.

"All yours." He mumbled before his eyes returned to the menu.

She giggled slightly at his slight accent. She couldn't quite place it, but she liked it. Sitting down and not even looking at the menu, she just ordered a coffee. Something about her made White feel uneasy. After getting her coffee, she turned to lean against the counter and look around the diner like she was trying to find something.

Something about the situation made him put his guard up immediately. After ordering something for himself, White subtly kept his attention on this girl who shouldn't be giving any reason for suspicion. Nothing happened for a bit and he was about to chalk it up to his imagination. It happened in this job. That was until her phone rang and she wordlessly answered it. She silently listened to who was calling before she nodded,

"Understood."

She hung up and after leaving a few bills on the counter, left the diner.

Alright, something isn't right. White wasn't sure why but decided he had to follow her. He followed the girl at a distance until she turned down an alley between two large buildings. He sped up a few steps, about to turn into the alley himself. He didn't want to lose sight of this girl. He was about to turn and froze at what was the sound of a gunshot.

With that he pressed his back flat against the building and slowly looked around the corner. The girl was on her phone muttering "Target eliminated" as she stands over a body. White recognized the body, he was another agent from the embassy he took on partner jobs with many times.

That's when it his him, she's a spy. White reached into his coat for a gun he kept on him and pulled it out as he jumped around the corner.

She was gone. He didn't see her anywhere. But he knows he has to report this. So much for a day off.

"Dammit."
