The Potter twins had not believed it at first, but the DMLE would not budge in their intentions. They did not realize that they had been fortunate that their status as minors allowed for their sentence to be reduced to 1 year in the infamous Azkaban prison. In addition, the Wizengamot decided that they were not to be confined in the depths of the dreary prison, but were to be housed near the top floor, even if it was in a shared cell.
As a second concession, their wands would not be snapped since the Wizengamot had been convinced that they had successfully been manipulated and compelled since entering Hogwarts by Albus Dumbledore. This testimony had been given by a Mind Healer and a Potions Master of St. Mungo's, and was confirmed by the DMLE.
If the twins behaved themselves during their incarceration, and after their release swore an oath on behalf of the Wizengamot, they would be allowed to marry their betrothed without further legal repercussions.
However, the next punishment dealt to the twins had been quite unexpected. Because of their crimes, they had been deemed unworthy to ever gain the Peverell or Potter lordships. Only their descendants would have the ability to gain the title. And that would only happen after they had proven themselves to be worthy. And since a Potter had been married to a Peverell, House Potter would now be considered a minor vassal house of the new Lord Peverell-Slytherin-Gaunt.
As far as everyone was concerned, the twins had been caught, justice had been served and they were now serving their time. However, unbeknownst to those in charge, somebody had switched the twins' guards with Grindelwald supporters, who had received explicit orders to switch the twins with lifelike golems and transport the young men to a private location. Gellert wanted to break the young men and mould them into his perfect little soldiers — ensuring that neither of them would ever be able to escape his machinations, before letting them go out into the world wreaking havoc at his behest.
But before the switch was made, Gellert decided that they would first need to stay a whole month in Azkaban. Their new guards had been given permission to do whatever they wanted to do with them so long as they did not leave any permanent marks. Gellert felt that this would help break their rebellious spirits.
They started easy — compared to what a true evil wizard would do — limiting their senses, increasing their fears, increasing harsh lectures more and more, until both brothers were shivering, snivelling wrecks, ripe for the picking. The guards had them promising to do anything and everything, just to stop the torment. The twins even went so far as to lick and to kiss the boots of the guards, whenever they entered the cell. The guards often demanded favours, before placing the prison food…a weak, tasteless and watery gruel, into two bowls on the floor.
The night for the switch had finally arrived and both young men were already kneeling on the stone floor…eyes focused on the ground, while one of their main tormentors entered the dark cell and demanded their usual greeting - licking and kissing his muddy boots. The penalty for non-compliance was the guard threatening that he would summon the Dementors to torment them before beginning their correction again.
The twins didn't stand a chance. The were stunned and switched with the golems. They were then put under strong disillusionment spells and transported to their new prison. Gellert's second in command had been expecting them and demanded that they were brought to the interrogation room immediately, where the first of many rituals would take place. The purpose of the rituals was to ensure that they would be turned into good little slaves without anyone the wiser.
Over the course of the year, nobody would realise that they had been duped, and that the twins were not under the control of Azkaban. Even though the prisoners seemed severely apathetic during the few visits by members of the Wizengamot and the DMLE, their behaviour was not seen as unusual since it was a known side effect of spending extended time in the presence of Dementors.
Gellert's second in command had a lot of fun turning the young Potters into sleeper agents who would respond quickly and correctly to the command of their new harsh taskmaster. Further solidifying the nefarious plans of their captors was the compulsion charm - for obedience and dependence to their master - that had been spelled onto a shimmering pearl and was magically implanted above their prostate. The placement of the pearl would ensure that nobody would be able to find it, as in addition to the location of its placement, a strong notice-me-not spell had been woven into the pearl as well. Dependency on their master would increase anytime somebody would only lightly brush over their prostate.
Gellert had enjoyed playing with this little accessory during the first war. The Germans had been so gullible, and he had been amused at how easy it had been to influence them. After camouflaging his unique eyes, it had not been hard to win their trust. Even before his transformation into a true Dark Lord, he had already looked like the perfect role model for the Aryan race.
Waking up, with his puppet in his arms, Gellert smirked. He knew that he would punish Albus even more and he was looking forward to it. The greedy, jealous and mediocre wizard had not only stolen magical energy from his own family for years, he had also dared to kill Credence Barebone or as he was once known Aurelius Dumbledore, so that he would be able to enslave a phoenix.
Most of the wizarding community would never have thought that Albus Dumbledore could be so evil – but he was a real devil's child. His hair was not simply coppery red, no - during his early childhood and especially anytime he did something evil, his hair would glow like hellfire. And there had been many, many times when it glowed.
It was Albus who enabled the Lestranges to switch the newborn babies and place a strong dark siphoning charm on the squib-child knowing that it would kill the babe in his crib. He didn't care at all as the stolen magical energy would strengthen his own core. In his youth, it was he who temporarily removed the magical protection on the garden where little Ariana would play with her dolls and lured some muggle boys into the yard.
He not only siphoned the magic of his baby sister, but he also fed his magical core on the aggression and rage of the muggle boys. That Ariana had not died on that day had only slightly tarnished his good mood. As Ariana started to lose control over her magic, it was much easier for Albus to place the magic leach again - hidden in her favourite paper doll, while getting high on the wild magic.
At some point, Aberforth seemed to become suspicious, but after a few well-placed strong compulsions demanded that he go and sodomise the livestock – he appeared to develop a sick fascination for goats and forgot about their sickly sister. Each time he would indulge in this behaviour, his intelligence would decrease until he was not much more than a pawn in Albus' game. A second compulsion kept him under a strong thrall. As soon as Aberforth would hear the word goat, he would be ready to do anything for his master.
At one time the Dumbledore family was famous for being beast masters and able to understand all languages and even speak and write most of them. For great loyalty and for defending Magick, a phoenix had been bound to the Dumbledore line. Each century, one of its descendants would receive the chance to win the loyalty of one of the majestic and legendary birds.
Imagine the fury of the spoiled brat, Albus, as the phoenix bound to the Obscurial and not to him. It was obvious to Albus that he had to fix this problem and, in his warped mind, killing an Obscurial was a service to keep Magick safe. He enjoyed making the last hours of Credence's life pure hell, before enslaving the phoenix.
But that had never stopped Fawkes from trying to break his bond to his enslaver. No matter how often he paid the price for his disobedience. He was still hoping to break free and find his new Master, or at least be reunited with Credence in death.
Now that the switch had been successful and the unlucky Potters had been brought to the estate for the rest of their brainwashing, Gellert could really get moving with his plans. Neither of them should be able to refuse nor protest their treatment and they would be moulded into brainless little sheeple, who would do anything to please their Masters.
This had greatly amused Gellert as through the twins, he was once more able to punish Albus as he saw fit. As soon as he had outlived his usefulness, Albus would be treated like any other of the inferior muggleborns and killed. Bones, organs, blood and anything else that could be used would be taken, before the rest of his body ended up as food for Gellert's slaves, without them any wiser.
Both teenagers had been imprisoned in a white room that would drastically change temperatures based on Gellert's current mood. At the same time, they were only given one small bucket — also in white on the far end of the room in a hidden alcove, in which to relieve themselves, and finally a white shower stall.
The Dark Lord Grindelwald did not expect that he would need to keep the twins in the room for more than two weeks before the pampered brats would promise anything and everything just to be released from the white hell, and sign any contract given to them in blood.
How he enjoyed it when his plans came together. In a few decades, only one person would rule the planet, and that would be him – Gellert Grindelwald. And should his others plans succeed, then he would have his very own unique pet, and nobody would be able to defy him ever again.
Still — the white room would have a lot of prisoners until the time was ripe to collect young Severus Prince-Peverell. But for someone who in his youth had dreamed of collecting the legendary Hallows and dominating Death, patience was essential. He would be patient.
