(A/N: Hello! This is a single story. This is a new perspective on the classic "Jack and the Beanstalk" fairytale, except I decided to reverse the expected. I hope you enjoy this little story. Happy reading!)
Giants exist, but they're terrified of humans, just like humans are terrified by the small spiders in sidewalk cracks. They cower in the corners of the clouds, frightened of the noises beneath them. Each booming step in the sky is a frantic gesture. The baby giants run to their mothers when they hear the laughs and echoes of school children playing in the open fields.
Giants see the shadows created from the child with the bent ax. Chop down their beanstalk, Jack, but only if you wish to see fear come alive. You planted those seeds; now you must deal with the consequences. Remember that it was your hand that the seeds sifted through like ash and smoke.
Chop down their beanstalk, Jack. Giants fall in love with predictability. They knew they would one day fall head first from the sky from your force. They have been waiting for you, but they're scared to see your face.
Are you surprised to see that the male giant has the face of your own future self, wrinkled and aged? Rotten teeth peak from trembling lips.
Sorry to disappoint you, Jack.
A/N: With this story, I wanted to accomplish adding a new perspective to the original fairytale by showing that the giants are scared. Thanks for reading!
As always,
Fiddlegirl
