Prologue:

A small mew broke the deafening silence suffocating what used to be Arcadia Bay. What was once a black cat, now more grey with age than anything, silently moved past a destroyed diner. Her vibrant green eyes scanned the debris, her tail twitching on high alert. Minerva McGonagall was in the guise of a tabby cat, bringing the Aurors and The Order back in London crucial information on the activities of a particular young woman.

Maxine Caulfield. Who was this young witch to get the great Dumbledore in such a twist? Certainly no young witch or wizard could handle the mass catastrophe of leveling an entire town in the Pacific Northwest? Especially with no knowledge or guidance of such powers. Ilvermorny surely would have stepped in and notified Hogwarts of such a risk!

Nevertheless, the 'storm,' as the non-magic folk were saying, had completely flattened the small town of Arcadia Bay, throwing fragments of houses, shops, and schools in every direction. Boats now rested on the beaches, and cars were settling in at the bottom of the ocean. The tornado had hit the boardwalk first; or so it seemed. Powerful magic and electricity could still be felt in the air. McGonagall closed her eyes as she jumped past bodies of muggle children littering the street.

If what Dumbledore said was true, this young witch was powerful, possibly even dangerous. Glancing up at the lighthouse in the distance, the wise tabby cursed Merlin. Minerva needed to find her first, before anyone with strange intentions could.
