The sudden booming voice blasting into his head as he quickly grabs his helmet and rips it off before tossing it to the ground.
"Mason!" Jack and Arcee run up to him in concern as he holds his head. "Are you okay?" Jack asks, hesitating to place a hand on his friend, a little bit of fear hitting him and the potential that Mason may go crazy again.
"What happened?" Arcee also asks worried.
Mason groans as the headache passes real quick and his mind clears up. "Mhm, yeah… yeah I'm good. Ahhh, that was annoying. Think my audio headset went on the fritz or something." He surmises to them. Thing is, he distinctly remembers hearing a voice and a word from that yell. But he doesn't want them to worry about him.
"Well, at least your alright." Jack says with a smile. He then walks over and grabs Masons helmet before handing it back to him.
"Thank you." He thanks his friend and clips it to his belt. No reason to have it on when they are still in base, and he doesn't want to get another scream into his ear. While Jack is fine with the answer, he does notice Arcee staring at him critically. He waves her down, not wanting to make more of the situation on him when the whole planet is in danger at the moment. She shakes her head and sighs. She doesn't like it but they have others matters to focus on really.
"Optimus, have you uncovered any further sign of Unicron's emergence?" Ratchet contact Optimus to ask him over the comms.
"Unicron is power incarnate, and you, the last of the Primes, shall perish!" His answers comes in the form of Unicron himself being heard talking in his booming voice.
"I take that as a 'yes'." Ratchet almost deadpans from the obvious answer. "We are on our way." In an instant Ratchet and the others get moving to go back up their leader.
"Negative." Optimus replies the denial, making them halt. "Unicron cannot be defeated by sheer force. He wants me, Ratchet. This fight must be mine alone." The sounds of fighting can be heard right after as Optimus seems to be engaging some enemies.
Without a word, the others all look at each other and give nods to one another. While its admirable for their leaders willingness to not put the others in harms way and wishes to fight the battle that is a focus around him, frankly Optimus himself can't take on an entire planet alone. Ratchet spins up the ground bridge as they ignore what Optimus ordered for them. While 'Bee, Arcee and Bulkhead get ready to go through the portal, Arcee turns back and stares at Mason, who also stays back and lets out a sigh and nods.
She nods back and heads on through.
Mason stares as they head forward to go back up their leader, leaving the rest of them back in the base and a frustrated but sad Mason to sit back and wait. He wanted to go with them. He really did. To continue fighting alongside them and destroy this menace that looks to destroy the entire planet.
However Mason would be lying if he said he was confident he could help them. He's still feeling a mixture of worried and scared over what happened to him against the others earlier. Not to mention the voice he heard earlier. As much as he didn't want them to worry, until he figures… something out, he needs to be careful and limit his interactions with this Unicron, both for his own mental status as well as the others safety.
They can't afford for someone to stab them in the back, willing or otherwise.
"You think Optimus will be mad?" Miko asks out loud.
"Most likely. We did disobey his orders afterall." Ratchet confirms it.
"But I'd say considering the situation and everything with Unicron we can't afford to just sit back and wait." Raf adds in his own idea of the situation.
Mason decides to tune them out and go sit down on one of the steps. With everything going on and his compromised state, the best thing he can do is keep out of the way and try to help come up with an idea for fixing all this.
Unfortunately after spending several long and grueling minutes, which feel like hours to him, he can't come up with an idea. Besides the ancient tale that Ratchet and the others mentioned, their really isn't a whole lot they can think of to defeat Unicron.
Mason even tried to rack his brain intensely on a solution since he was connected to Unicron in some way… but he's stumped. He has no memories of what had happened or felt during that time.
He lets out a frustrated sigh as he leans back against a railing and stares up at the ceiling.
"You okay?"
He looks to the side at the voice, seeing Raf walk up next to him.
Mason waves him off lightly, "I'm fine I'm fine. Just can't come up with an idea for dealing with Unicron and all that." He looks over to see Ratchet coordinating with something with the others as they seem to be in combat with the being. "The others are out there fighting and I'm stuck here stumped on what to do." He sulks.
Raf nods and proceeds to sit next to him. "And why did you decide to stay here instead of going with the others?" He asks him.
Mason scoffs as he glances at the kid. "What do you mean 'why'? I had to stay here. The others decided to go backup Optimus and take the fight straight to Unicron."
"Right… and again, why did you stay?"
"Why did—? Raf, you know why." He states to the kid. When Raf doesn't say anything, he simply nods his head to Mason, indicating for him to continue. Mason sighs and leans back a little to look up, "Somehow I went ballistic and started attacking you and everyone else here. All in the name of Unicron. Who I didn't even know of at the time but somehow I did!" He shouts frustratingly before letting out a groan and staring forward. "I can't take the chance of me being in close proximity to Unicron or anything of his and going devoted crazy again."
"Because you wanted to protect them."
"Exactly!" Mason shouts both happy that Raf gets it but still frustrated over the whole thing. "I wanted to protect them from me. I was hoping to use any knowledge from my spell to figure out a weakness for Unicron but I got nothing."
"Do you remember attacking us?"
"Well… no."
"Then it wasn't you you were protecting the others from. It was Unicron you were protecting them from." Raf shuffles closer to Mason and looks directly at him with a sincere look on his face. "If you being here and just trying to come up with ideas was your way of trying to protect us, then its enough."
Mason wants to argue with Raf about that… but frankly the kid does have a point. As much as Mason tries to wrap his head around his episode, theirs nothing. Whatever he did and acted against the others, it was not by his own want or means to do so. It was Unicrons influence or what have you that caused him to attack the others.
"Hm… yeah, I guess your right." Mason thanks the kid and smiles at him. "Thanks Raf. I appreciate that."
"Anytime." He pats Mason's shoulder, "Ow." A little too hard as he hits the metal of his suit.
Mason chuckles a little, happy that the kid was able to get him to feel better. "How are you doing? You alright after everything that happened?"
"I think between the both of us, you came out of it a bit worse." Mason chuckles awkwardly at Raf's words as the kid laughs a little too before getting a thoughtful look on his face. "Honestly, I was mostly knocked out the whole time so besides some pain, really the one thing I mostly felt was being really tired and weak while I still had that stuff in me." He scratches his chest a little at the reminder of everything. "You? Besides the whole attacking thing?"
Mason gets a look on his face as tries to think about everything.
"Megatron?!"
Both of them turn at the loud shout of Bulkhead through the comms. Their eyes widen as they shoot to their feet and look at the computer feeds, confirming what it is that he shouted just now.
"King 'Con is there, too?" Miko states as well in surprise.
"Is this really what we need right now?!" Mason shouts in frustration. Its bad enough they are dealing with something that's practically a deity at the moment, they don't need to deal with the Decepticons in addition to it all.
"He has aligned himself with Unicron." Ratchet surmises what's going on.
"Don't be so sure. Megatron just saved Optimus' tailpipe." Arcee informs them over the radio.
Now this gets a surprise out of everyone there.
"Did we hear that right?" Jack asks out loud, to no one in particular.
"I think we did." Mason replies. The idea of Megatron of all people saving Optimus Prime seems like a very farfetched idea that can happen for them. Though considering the world threat they are dealing with for Unicron it seems anything can happen.
"It is rather ironic, considering our last encounter." They hear Megatron speak over the comms, "If memory serves, you were desperately attempting to extinguish my spark." Megatron sneers to Optimus.
"That option remains very much in play." Optimus still seems willing to continue what he tried to do before.
"I would expect nothing less. However, I have a proposal." This gets many of the others confused as to what it is that Megatron is proposing for everyone. "Join me in defeating our shared enemy. Unicron, the chaos-bringer."
"Wait, what?" Mason mutters in confusion. "Megatron wants to fight Unicron?"
"Ha! Absurd!" Ratchet is completely sure that the Decepticon leader is lying about this. "Unicron is evil incarnate. If Megatron was to take any side, why would it be ours?"
"Because Megatron's pride would never allow anyone other than himself to rule this planet." Optimus surmises Megatron's reason.
"You know me all too well, Optimus." And he is right on the money, making Mason and the others grimace at how smug he seems to be about all this.
"You lead an army of 'Cons. Why come to us?" Bulkhead tries to figure out what the reason is for Megatron coming to them for help.
"Because this particular endeavor requires something beyond the realm of my command… The power of a Prime." Megatron explains to everyone what is needed.
"Then I guess we don't need you." Bulkhead smugly states. While it seems like a good situation for them they only need Optimus, Megatron is not the type to go at things in half measures.
"On the contrary, Optimus may be the only one who can defeat Unicron, but I remain the only one who can guide you to him. Unicron's lifeblood runs through me. Only I can hear his thoughts, anticipate his movements." While the others focus on Megatron's usefulness and why they need him, Mason starts to get really nervous at the idea of what the 'con is talking about. Raf notices the nervous state he is in, even more so when Mason anxiously wrings his hands together. The small human gently pats Masons side. This knocks Mason from his state and allows him to relax some. He gives Raf a grateful nod back as they focus back on the situation at hand. "Optimus, our past alliances… Autobot, Decepticon… no longer matter, not while Unicron lives." Mason can't almost believe what he's hearing from the leader of their mortal enemies.
"The past always matters!" The others can't believe it either, especially Ratchet as he slams onto his console with his fist.
"A truce between Autobot and Decepticon. How long do you expect us to believe that will last?" Optimus is very skeptical on the proposed alliance for their enemy.
"Only as long as it's mutually beneficial." Megatron can't help remind them of its temporary state should they actually establish and alliance.
"And when our proposed shared mission is complete? "
"I will conquer this Earth my way." And Megatron still can't help remind them how evil he is to Optimus.
"Brutal honesty from a Decepticon?" Arcee comments.
"About as honest as we can expect from them." Mason mutters under his breath.
"Aligning with the lesser of two evils is still siding with evil." Ratchet remains firm with his stance on the matter. Mason groans a little at the situation. While he doesn't like Megatron, far from it compared to a lot of things, he holds immense respect for the Autobots considering all they are doing to help humanity in general. However the situation right now with Unicron calls for some… unconventional methods if they have any hope of trying to figure out what to do.
"Do you think you've witnessed the full power of Unicron?" Megatron begins a tirade explanation of just how screwed everyone really is, "Those foot soldiers were nothing more than a taste. Unicron has yet to fully awaken. With each passing moment, the 'Bringer of chaos' evolves, mutating Earth from the inside out. What we have witnessed until now is but a prelude of the utter devastation his rising will wreak upon your world."
"Like your quest for power destroyed Cybertron?" Arcee reminds him of what happened to their planet. Cybertron is now a husk of its former self, destroyed and torn apart as it lists in space.
"Make no mistake. This time, there will be a planet left for me to rule." Megatron sneers at them.
The situation is bad, and pretty tense all things considered with how it all is. On one hand it seems they need to work with Megatron to deal with an enemy this is a monumental destructive power even stronger than both the Autobots and Decepticons combined. Of course the others option, working with Megatron, is really on the bottom of the list that everyone wants to do.
"Even if we agree, Unicron's all the way down at the center of the Earth. How are we supposed to get there? Drive?" Bulkhead comments on how they need to get where they need to go. Suffice to say theirs nowhere on earth that can come even close to making it to the center of the earth.
"There is only one way." Megatron vaguely implies on the only option they have to get them directly to where they need to go.
"Absolutely not!" It doesn't take long for them to ascertain the option. Obviously, Ratchet is pretty adamant about doing another crazy Ground-bridge jump. "Ground-bridging into space or onto moving trains is difficult enough. But plotting a blind jump inside of a sentient being?! Besides, direct exposure to that much Dark Energon will debilitate you. You haven't built up an immunity like Megatron has." He informs them of the situation and how bad things can straight up be. Mason hums to himself as he looks at him at his side. He flexes his fingers a little, watching the machinery move in tune with his own hands movements. He sighs before focusing back on the situation at hand.
"Yet another strong argument for soliciting my guidance." Megatron points out his position in all this.
"You can provide Unicron's exact coordinates?" Optimus asks of his mortal enemy.
"If you transport us to this planet's core, I can lead you directly into Unicron's spark the very heart of his darkness." Megatron confirms what he can do.
"Optimus, even if we survive the jump, how are we supposed to stop Unicron?" Arcee brings up the question of how to proceed. Simply shooting at his heart, spark, whatever it is he's got can't be that simple or easy, especially their lack of firepower in comparison to the size of Unicron.
"…" There is a small moment of silence for them as they contemplate what the move is. "With the Matrix of Leadership." Optimus finally answers.
"What is that?" Agent Fowler asks, much to the others humans also curiosity on the subject as this is the first they are hearing of this.
"A vessel of pure energy, the collective wisdom of the Primes." Ratchet explains what it is.
"Do we have time for a scavenger hunt? I mean, where's Optimus supposed to find this Matrix?" Jack asks.
"Optimus does not need to find it. He carries it within him." Ratchet taps his chest as an indication of where it is.
"It was the combined power of the Primes that defeated Unicron so long ago, the very reason he now seeks to destroy you." Megatron informs them all of what happened long ago.
"It would follow that unleashing the power of the Matrix directly into Unicron's spark would return him to stasis." And Optimus finishes saying of what it is they should do to end the apocalypse going on.
"Hold on. If 'everything goes right,' Unicron's gonna stay down there?" Miko asks another question they need to figure out once all is said and done.
"Yeah. Can't we siphon him out somehow?" Jack proposes a good idea for them to do… if they could do it in the first place.
"It's not going to be that easy Jack." Mason states with disdain. As much as he would like to do what his friend said, something tells him that things are not going to be that cut and dry about it.
Jack looks at him confused before Raph speaks up, "He's not in the earth's core, Jack. He is the earth's core."
"Rafael is correct." Ratchet confirms it, "Tampering with your core could affect the magnetic poles, trigger the very cataclysmic events we are attempting to remedy. Tragically, Unicron is your planet's very seed. Always has been and always must be." The forboding words don't do much to alleviate any worries the group has on the situation, since it seems like they and all of Humanity are forced to keep with the fact that an ancient Cybertronian god-like being is now living in the center of the planet Earth, or has been and always will be.
"This just keeps getting better and better." Mason groans as he contemplates slamming his head against the wall.
"We got another one." Bulkhead calls out over the comms.
The others get tensed up and ready as alarm bells go off for them. Mason can't see what's going on exactly but it seems the situation is starting to deteriorate for them where the others are.
"Ratchet, set the ground bridge." Optimus orders for the medic to do.
Now this gets everyone tense and immensely worried on what Optimus is implying for them to do.
"Wait. We're opening up a direct path into our base with Megatron standing right there?" Arcee states a very poignant question for them.
"And seriously, he's gonna risk his own spark to save us?" Bulkhead brings up a very good question.
Megatron laughs out loud at the insinuation. "Hardly my nature!"
"Matter of opportunity. He's willing to work to get Unicron destroyed and is ready and willing to use our own manpower rather than his own in order to assault Unicrons core." Mason explains. Megatron just may very well be the only one that can reliably lead them to where they need to go with Optimus being the only one that can defeat him. Then its just a matter of who goes with them to make sure they can get the time needed defeat Unicron.
Naturally, the Autobots can't trust the Decepticons to not stab Optimus in the back once its done and Megatron is more than willing to risk the Autobots lives than his own troops.
More of Unicrons creations move in to get ready to try and take them out. "Consider my offer. I shall keep it busy." While everyone ponders what to do, Megatron takes it upon himself to hold the enemy back.
Mason can only sigh at the situation they are in.
It didn't take long for them to weigh their options as to what to do next, however to say they've come to an agreement would be a bold faced lie once everyone made it back to base.
"I know that desperate times call for desperate measures, but bringing Megatron here?" Ratchet speaks up on how much he abhors the plan with good reason.
"How can you even think about letting that monster near these children after what he did to Raf and Mason?" Jacks mom can't help but mention said reason that recently transpired for them all.
"He will be closely monitored and only allowed to linger long enough to send us on our journey. Not one moment more." Optimus proposes a simple idea for them to do. It's not much but its something at this point.
"What's gonna stop the 'Con from calling in an air strike if he knows where you live?" Agent Fowler brings up a good point for them.
"By ground-bridging Megatron here, he will be unable to get a fix on our coordinates." Optimus informs everyone. While the Cybertronians do have the means to communicate with each other, it doesn't seem like any of them have the ability to come up with accurate coordinates of their positions on the fly. So due to the rock formations and shielding that the Autobot base has, it would take some effort on the Decepticon leaders part in order to figure out the Autobot bases location, let alone get a signal out that isn't approved by the Autobots themselves.
Time in which they will not give Megatron and send him out as soon as possible to deal with Unicron.
"Optimus, what's gonna happen to you when all your Matrix energy is released?" Jack can't help but ask their leader.
"The power within the Matrix has not previously been utilized in this particular manner." Optimus informs them of how 'experimental' this whole situation is.
"But you have an idea, don't you?"
A small silence comes up for them as a result of his unsureness, "Autobots, if humankind is to be saved I have no choice but to proceed." Optimus informs everyone. "But you do." He states afterwards to his fellow Autobots as he looks at them all.
"Well, I don't know about humankind, but I'm willing to do it… for Miko." Bulkhead states out loud. Lots of humanity can be annoying *cough*MECH*cough* so its good he's willing to do it for someone.
"For Jack." Arcee mutters for Jack.
"For Raf." Even Bumblebee is ready too.
To see that the others are touched by the gesture and willing to help is a big one for them. Mason can't help but smile and silently thank them for everything they are doing.
With the consensus given, Optimus radios his mortal enemy. "Megatron, we are sending transport."
"You can always be relied upon to listen to reason, Optimus." Somehow the others are not that confident in the way the Decepticon leader phrased that, or how he is in general.
Everyone gets ready for the upcoming arrival of their new… guest. Of course with such a volatile person being brought right into the center of their base, precautions are needed in order to make sure nothing goes bad even more than it has already.
"No fair! I've never seen him! Why do we have to hide?" Miko grumbles in annoyance at having to be shuffled off to the side with the others. With Agent Fowler, Raf, Miko, Jack and his mom all not having any sort of protection, it wouldn't take much for Megatron to simply step wrongly or swipe his arm too far to the side and hit one of them. If anything he could claim it was simply an 'accident' or he 'didn't know Autobots liked sleeping with pests' or some other insult for the humans.
The only reason Mason is allowed to stay out is because he can disguise himself in his armor for protection, and has several weapons he can use to defend himself. That's why he has both his modified Lahti and grenade launcher strapped to him ready for use.
"Because I said so!" Ratchet loudly states.
With the non-protected humans moving out of harms way, everyone gets ready as the gather around the ground-bridge as it opens up, bathing the room in its green glow.
Mason stays up top next to the railing as he holds his Lahti in hand. "Are you sure about this Mason?" Arcee asks him. Mason glances at her for a second before looking down and back up with a firm look on his face.
"I'm sure. Whatever happens, we're going to need all hands-on deck with this. Despite what… happened… we can't afford to go about this underpowered." Mason tightens his grip on his weapon. It took some convincing but Mason was able to get Optimus to let him fight and go on the trip. Whatever concerns he has, or anyone for that matter, won't matter at all when the fate of the entire world they are on is hanging in the balance. "I'm ready to get this done. We need to get this done… no matter what." He rolls his shoulder and looks back at her. "Besides, if I go crazy again, I know you can stop me."
"Right… just place don't make me." She replies sincerely, knowing what the possibility is but really hoping that it doesn't come down to it.
Before he can say sorry for putting her in that position, it's time for the 'con of the hour to arrive. Mason looks to see the humans off in the main hall area to be out of sight. Almost instantly the atmosphere becomes tense as those inside gets ready for what is most likely going to be their most dangerous guest to date.
Everyone becomes on edge as he moves forward and strolls into their base. Mason tightens the grip on his weapon as he narrows his eyes at the Decepticon while everyone else holds up their blasters ready to use if necessary. He makes sure to polarize his helmet so the 'con doesn't have a fit at Mason's real self.
Megatron gazes around the base as he faux admires it, "So, this is where the magic happens. Quaint." He doesn't even seem to notice Mason's presence.
The armor clad human almost growls at the temporary ally as he fingers the trigger on his gun carefully.
"Raf!"
"Rafael, no!"
Sounds of concern can be heard and Mason looks to the side. To his surprise and slight horror, Raf comes out of cover and moves forward to confront Megatron with the other humans behind him.
"You! Ah!" Raf loudly and angrily shouts at the large figure. Megatron finally sees him and almost smirks at him.
"You're looking much better than the last time we met, little one. Humans resilient." He comments to him, making everyones blood and energon boil at his dismissive tone.
"Come on, Raf. He isn't worth it." Jack tries to tell Raf and gently pulls him away.
Seeing Jack, Megatron gets annoyed and slightly angry at seeing him. "And you. I never forget a face… even that of a human."
Jack almost growls at him before smirking slightly as he glances to the side for a second at the 'con. "Oh yeah? Did you forget him?"
*Cha-Chk*
Before he can inquire, Megatron hers the sound of a weapon cocking and looks to the side. He looks to see a weapon aimed at his face, with it being Mason in his armor ready to attack Megatron at a moment's notice. "You…!" He growls out in anger at seeing the disguised human.
"How's the scar?" Mason states with a smirk. "Guess its fair due you tried to kill me, huh? Except you failed. Funny that." He tries to get some form of goading in for the 'con.
Miko wants to yell at Megatron, to shout at him and make sure he knows nothing will stop her from ending him if he betrays them… but seeing Mason, a human aiming a large gun right at his head gives her some satisfaction and comfort as she walks away with the others, making sure Raf is okay and out of harms way.
"Do not take me lightly you insolent gnat." Megatron threatens him but Mason doesn't back down, his anger and refusal to bend the knee or show any weakness to him evident.
"Give me a reason." Mason replies as he tightens the grip on his rifle.
"Enough!" Optimus shouts, breaking the tension between the two as he gets between them. "Stay your hand from each other. Focus on our real target: Unicron." He reminds them of the real threat and the reason they are together at the moment in the same location. They begrudgingly ease off each other as Megatron walks away to the ground bridge and Mason lowers his weapon. With the situation diffused at the moment, Optimus looks towards Ratchet, "Ratchet, obtain the destination coordinates from our guest."
Ratchet nods as he goes to get the coordinates. Mason jumps off the second floor area and walks over to the other humans. "You guys okay?"
"We're fine." Miko begrudgingly states as she glares at Megatrons back. "Sooner he's out of here, the better."
They can only nod in agreement at her statement as the humans all begin making their way to the back of the base while Mason and Jack stay where they are.
"Jack." Optimus walks up to them, getting Jack's attention. "Will you keep something for me?"
"Sure." Without hesitation Jack agrees to it. Optimus hands Jack some sort of glowing key-like object. It starts off big but compresses and transforms itself into a smaller version of it. It's slightly longer and bigger than his hand and is glowing light blue with some patterns etched into it. "What is it?"
"It is the key to the ground bridge power supply." Optimus informs them.
"Okay, but shouldn't Ratchet have this?" Jack asks, a little confused on why he's given it.
"Perhaps. But I've been impressed by how much you have matured since we first met. As such, I feel you have earned the responsibility of safeguarding this important device until I return." Optimus explains to him why.
"I won't let you down." Jack feels a sense of pride at being given the responsibility and trust by their leader to keep such an important piece.
"I know you won't." Optimus nods at him before turning to Mason. "And I trust Mason, once all this is done, that you will stay close to Jack and make sure both he and the key are safeguarded?"
This gets both humans confused at what he means before they look at each other before looking back at their leader. "What do you mean? Once we're done with Unicron we're heading right back here right?" Mason asks in slight concern. The way how Optimus was phrasing this things might not be so simple.
"That is the plan, but we must be careful as once the Unicron threat has been settled, Megatron's allegiance with us will be finished."
"And him getting his hands on our Ground-Bridge key essentially takes us out of any future fights." Mason finishes the thought of what Optimus is implying. Having the key anywhere near Megatron is a big situation that they need keep from happening. Making sure he has no idea where it is at all will ensure any sort of rush tactical moves or plans he will come up with will fail from the beginning. "I understand sir. I'll make sure nothing comes to harm for Jack or the key." He makes his oath firm and sure for their leader.
"Thank you Mason. Despite everything that has happened, I am honored to have you fight by our side." Optimus nods to him.
This gets Mason to smile at the words the Autobot leader says to him. Things were tense at times between them, even when Mason had sort of forced his way or guilt tripped the others into helping him make his armor, he still has high respect for the Cybertronian leader and his efforts to help his people while also limiting as much damage and injuries to humans as possible.
"Thank you, sir. I won't let you down." He salutes the Autobot leader with firm determination. The situation is bad for everyone around and Mason is glad to have this moment with their leader.
With that done, Optimus makes his way back to the others as the Ground-Bridge comes to life.
Mason turns to Jack and depolarizes his helmet for a second. "Take of the others until we get back."
Jack smirks and nods, "Take of yourself first. With where your going, you might need it all." He taps Masons arm.
Mason smirks and walks to the Autbots and 'con as he polarizes his helmet again. "Don't we all."
"Locked and ready." Ratchet informs them all now that it's go time.
There is a moment of trepidation and a stand down as Arcee walks up and stares at Megatron, the both of them staring at one another.
"You first." She offers and not so subtly orders for the enemy leader to do.
"As you wish." Megatron goes in without a fuss surprisingly. Soon enough the rest of the combatants for the Autobots move after to get the missions underway. One after another, Arcee then Optimus look back one more time to the humans of their group before going through. Before he steps through, Mason looks back one last time to the others, seeing nods of encouragement coming from his fellow humans. He nods back before stepping through, knowing this is going to be quite the undertaking for him, both physically and mentally.
Everyone finds themselves coming out of the portal in a truly massive cavern with pores of dark energon around. It's then that Maon notices that they are standing on a long and really high up stretch of solid mass, like a bridge of sorts. "Whoa." Mason mutters under his breath at the size of the place.
"So, how long before Unicron knows we're here?" Arcee asks.
Without turning around, Megatron answers, "Make no mistake, he already does." With that cryptic answer, he walks forward.
Already Mason feels a pressure in the whole place as he lets out a breath of air. "He's right." He lowly mutters to Arcee, making her look at him as the others go forward. "I can feel it. Like a gaze pressing down on us."
"Are you—?"
"I'm okay." He quickly reassures her as he rolls his shoulder a little. "We need to go and get this done… before Unicron permanently destroys my planet.
With no other choice really, Arcee nods as she walks forward to catch up with the others.
Mason hangs back for a second as he looks up. A giant light greenish tech form is stuck to the top of the ceiling. It is truly massive, bigger than anything he's ever seen before in his lifetime.
And it looks right at him, like a giant robotic eye.
Mason sighs as he looks forward. "I hate that its literal."
With a shake of his head, he jogs forward to catch up with them.
It's about time they take the fight to Unicron. Sorry this took a bit, my time for inspiration was kind of all over the place in terms of for my other stories so I apologize. Even so, safe to say things are going to get interesting and hectic for everyone as they take on who is pretty much the world ender known as Unicron. They are going to have to be careful as the territory they are going into is going to be quite the volatile one.
Lwwas-forever: Happy to hear that you were excited to see my story updated. Only wish I can update as often as I like but as you can relate, inspiration can be fickle to get going. Either way I'm glad you like how things are going, including the situation with Mason still having to deal with Megatron but it is how it is. I'll do what I can to try and get the next chapter out sooner than my previous time.
Anonymous: Safe to say things are going to be interesting for Mason and Arcee when they continue to work together. Lots can happen and plenty to go for them.
Chunky Mutt: Funny enough, I wasn't able to watch Transformers One, mostly due to my towns increase in COVID cases so I and my family had to stay home so I couldn't see the movie unfortunately.
I wanted to go check out Transformers One but with COVID being rampant I couldn't. I've heard some mixed reviews about the movie, both good and bad ones, with people initially stating bad but eventually liking it after some time. I'll do what I can to watch the movie when I can but I'm hoping the reception for more animated Transformers movies will appear as from what I've seen on YouTube, looks nice.
Thank you all for your continued support. I hope you all continue to enjoy my work as I continue. Go ahead and fave, follow, review, or don't, whatever you wish. Have a great time reading everyone, but most of all and importantly, have a great time each and everyone of you.
