Please R&R!

The first things he heard when he woke were the low hum of the heater and the soft in and outs from the sleeping figure next to Jaune. Naked, he laid there, entangled with and facing the smaller figure, cloaked in the warm darkness. He craned his neck and saw a small digital clock, the glowing red numbers read '4:48 AM', so he chose to simply lay there, conscious, yet still.

He didn't move for what seemed like an eternity. Everything was a mess, a mess he had to avoid.

But, despite his efforts, his heart ached, and his mind rebelled.

This...this is wrong. I didn't want this to happen this way.

I-I shouldn't have lied.

Why did she say she loved me?

Why does she not know?

...

Why can't I...

Why can't I love her too?

Through the curtains, a soft orange light slowly seeped into the room in pale columns. The warm air that had rolled over Jaune from the heater ceased, the fans slowed down. And, not long after, she woke up, shifting slightly in his arms.

For a moment, everything stood still, both of them staring at each other, faces barely a couple inches apart.

"Jaune?"

"Yeah?"

A breath. In and out.

"...I love you."

"I love you too."

"Jaune?"

"Yeah, Ruby?"

A shaky breath. In and out.

"...You're a terrible liar."

I know.
