This is my first fanfic. I wrote this back in Creative Writing class. Let me know what you think!

"Man or God?" he asked.

Just an hour ago, he walked the streets of Panem, the modern day Rome. The Districts funded a trip for him to go to the Capitol. He called for the citizens to repent.

"Repent from panem et circenses?"

The Caesar, falsely called President, had Peacekeepers bring him in for interrogation.

"Why do you ask my good people to repent?" asked the President.

"Your people jeer and jest at the slaughter of God's children, sir," claimed the well-wisher.

"I ask that you not stir up my good people," the President calmly replied.

"Shall I obey man rather than God?" asked the apostle.

The President raised an eyebrow. "God is not welcome here and neither are you. I have asked you once, and I will not ask again."

He turned to his officer and asked the officer to escort the well-wisher out.

The Peacekeeper and apostle walked down the hall. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matt 5:10), the apostle remembered the Teacher saying this. He believed that with all his heart, but was still scared.

They walked into a room. The apostle screamed and wept, and said no more. Peter's voice was forever silenced.

God wept.
