I decided to write a little one-shot today because I felt that April Fool's Day was being ignored. (I don't think people put enough effort into pranking today. I am a bit disappointed, but I guess I shouldn't have hoped for too much. It's not a very well-celebrated holiday, and it landed on a non-school day.
In Music Room #3, after club hours...
"Hey, Haruhi. Do you know what day it is?" Two little devils ask a brave brunette.
"Yeah, it's the first day of April. Why do you ask?" Haruhi answers, curious to find the reasoning behind their question.
"You don't know?" Hikaru asks with a puzzled face.
"It's April Fool's Day!" Kaoru exclaims, grinning as he throws confetti into the air.
"Huh? What's that?" Haruhi asks, brushing off the small bits of colored paper from her shoulder.
"It's a day celebrated by western countries in the form of pranking and making fools of people for the point of laid-back fun!" Hikaru informs gleefully.
"And it happens to be our most favorite holiday of the year, besides Halloween!" Kaoru says, in reminiscence of the previous year's days of pranking Tamaki.
Tamaki bursts through the door and tackles Haruhi in a firm hug. "Noooo! Haruhi! Don't fall for it!"
"Huh? What are you talking about? And I'd appreciate it if you'd let go of me, senpai." She insists, wiggling in his grasp.
"Are you okay? Those two doppelgangers didn't do anything to you, right?" He asks, holding firmly onto her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. We were just talking." Haruhi answers, in honest summary of their conversation before the host club king joined.
"About what?" Tamaki asks, eyeing the twins suspiciously.
"Nothing of your concern." She responds, wanting to get him off of her.
As expected, the fool shrank down into the corner, muttering about how his daughter was keeping secrets from him.
"Alright guys, see you later." Haruhi announces, picking up her bag.
"Where do you think you're going?" Two voices ask from behind her.
"Home. I want to leave before anyone pranks me." She replies, not turning around as she heads for the door.
"Fine, then. We won't stop you." They say, shrugging.
"Huh? That's unusual, coming from you two. This better not be a trick." Haruhi remarks, turning towards them again. Whatever. I'm not sticking around to find out what it is. She thinks, stepping out of the door.
Shutting the door shut behind her, Haruhi lifted her head up to see multiple orange arrows labeled 'Beware!', 'Not this way', 'Not that way, either', and 'Watch your step'. They each pointed in a different direction. Unsure of which pathway was safe, though doubting any were at all, she was about to choose when a stumbling idiot barged through the door and crashed into her. "No, Haruhi, not that wayyyyy!" He screamed, just moments before their collision.
They tumble down the path labeled 'Watch your step', and land in a slippery substance. Opening their eyes, they realize it is blue paint. Before they are able to catch their breath, the floor they are on begins to slope downwards like a slide. Incapable of getting up to their feet in time, they glide ungracefully down the slope, landing awkwardly.
Their eyes widen as Tamaki's lips press lightly against Haruhi's. Loud cackling can be heard from above. He removes them as soon as the laughter abruptly stops. The blushing idiot looks up to see two identical gawking faces, deceived by their own trap.
"April Fools!" He announces, recovering from the recent incident.
Hope you enjoyed! I thought it would be fun to have a little twist at the end. Please Favorite and Review!
