Boromir sighed as he watched his friends laying out their bedrolls his eyes scaned each of their faces as he fixed his own bedroll. Gimli looked worn out and the son of Gondor knew he wouldn't be surprised if the dwarf fell asleep within the hour. Pippin was already lying on his bedroll as Merry tucked him in the young man knew they where frightend. Sam sat with Aragorn they where already done and both where smoking their pipes. Sam looked concerned and Aragorn seemed torn. Legolas was no where in sight after the Elf had disappered up a tree and Frodo was sitting alone with his head bowed.

Boromir made his way over to their friend and sat beside the oldest hobbit. Frodo looked up when he felt a comforting arm being placed around his back.

"Little one, how are you doing?" The son of gondor asked.

Frodo shook his head then sagged against the young man. Boromir felt the hobbit shaking underneath his arm.

"Frodo, would you like to take a walk with me?"

The hobbit agreed and Boromir after getting up helped their friend up. Frodo followed him as they walked silently out of the tent.

The night air was warm and for that Boromir was thankful. Frodo stayed silent as the son of gondor put an around around him again. Unbeknown to them Legolas was silently following them in the trees branches. The elf wanted to make sure they were both alright. Suddenly Frodo stopped and looked up at his tall friend. Boromir noticed unshed tears in the hobbit's eyes and knelt down in front of him.

"Gandalf is really gone.." Frodo whispered.

Boromir gently put his hands on the hobbit's shoulders knowing his friend was struggling with the shock that they all where dealing with.

"But he can't be...dead.." Frodo choked out protesting.

Boromir felt a lump in his throat as he rubbed his friend's shoulder.

"It can't be real.." Frodo's voice shoke with sobs.

"I'm so sorry, my friend. But..it..is true." Boromir whispered.

Frodo sank to his knees, burying his face onto the man's chest. Boromir was dumbstruck and stayed silent. Legolas could see the feelings that raced through the man as the son of gondor wrapped his arms around the hobbit. The elf went to join them as he called softly to them as not to startle them.

Why did you follow us?" Boromir whispered.

"I know we could all use a friend at this hour." Legolas whispered.

Boromir swallowed hard trying to keep his own tears back. Legolas glanced at him sadly wondering how many times the young man had to be strong. Suddenly Legolas realized his own eyes where wet and truthful knew he was trying to hold back the tears too and had to admit it wasn't helping at all.

"This being strong isn't helping any of us." He whispered.

"I just thought he'd be around forever." Boromir admitted softly. "and,"

"And now he's gone.." Legolas finished for him.

Legolas sat on the ground beside them or rather sank onto the ground in the most undigafied manner. All the shock raced through his being as he felt a soft pressure on his shoulder.

"My friend?" Boromir whispered in concern.

Frodo went to him and wrapped his arms around the elf. Legolas closed his eyes knowing it was doing no good to stay strong and yet he didn't want to scare any one.

"I'm sorry maybe I shouldn't of come.." He whispered.

Frodo looked up into his friend's face and saw a stray tear making its way down the elf's cheek. He looked over at Boromir who's eyes where shineing with moister and he felt his heart clunch in his chest.

"Its nobody fault he died." Boromir whispered.

Frodo laid his head onto the elf's chest as they all cried.
