Beast

These fallen Heroes were apparently becoming a thing and the newest ones to join them were Ike, Lyon, Julia, and Prince Corrin. They later found King Ashnard and wasn't that an interesting conversation to have… Soren had gone so pale they had been afraid he would fall faint. The younger Ike grit his teeth and forced the tactician away, the Mad King cackling all the while. It took a moment to get the castle to calm down as it always did whenever these new heroes appeared. Eirika and Ephraim had been horrified to see Lyon in such a state while the princesses all tried to bind together to bring Julia's heart back. Legendary Ike and Titania tried to keep Fallen Ike-Fike as the Summoner dubbed him-away from Mist. And Corrin…

Corrin fled the castle almost the second they summoned him.

"I'll hurt people," he whispered once they finally found him hiding out in the forest. He was trembling, a manic gleam in his eye that sent a shiver through the Summoner. Of all the Fallen Heroes, these seemed to be the worst. Most of them at least had their wits about them and seemed to have chosen to fall, other than poor Maretta and Celica. But these ones were driven by bloodlust and stripped of whatever humanity they had.

"I trust you, Corrin. You're strong enough to overcome this. Your female counterpart came in this way too… With the dragon taking over. Why don't you come with me and talk with her? It might help to alleviate your fears." It took a lot of convincing. A LOT. In order to get him to come back to the castle with them. Little Azula helped as well and they couldn't be more proud of the small singer for reaching out to Corrin when she found him.

Corrin stuck close to their side for the most part, tail curled tightly around himself with his hand wrapped tightly in their robes.

"Being around you helps me," he panted quietly, purple flames flickering against his armor. "It calms me." Talking with his fallen counterpart seemed to help ease him a little and it was Robin that coaxed him away from their side.

"Corrin helped me when Grima first appeared to know that didn't have to be my fate, the least I can do is return the favor. I talked a bit with Robin about what she did when Princess Corrin appeared," the Shepherd tactician confided. They were happy to see Corrin shuffle after Robin with little coaxing from them and thought that perhaps all these fallen Heroes would finally find a place to fit.

Hopefully they didn't make their own tavern like the Villains did… They still couldn't find that stupid pub after the first accidental finding of it.

That hope though was dimmed when they found Corrin later in the lobby weeks after Robin had finally convinced the dragon to leave their side.

"Corrin!" The dragon flinched and spun at their greeting, claws already raised in attack. The Summoner skittered back and Corrin snapped his arm back to his side.

"I-I'm sorry… you startled me…!" He gripped his arms tightly, purple eyes hazy and unfocused. "I wanted… to go for a walk… I didn't think anyone would be out this late. I don't think you should be around me."

"It's my fault, I shouldn't have called out so loudly. It's okay though, Corrin!" The fallen prince stared a moment more before his gaze shifted away.

"I wonder what you see when you look at me," he murmured. "Am I really a beast after all…?" Their heart twisted in their chest and determination flooded them.

"Corrin. Look at me." He hesitated before finally swinging his head towards them. "You are not a beast. You're Corrin. No matter what you look like, or what you do, you're Corrin and you're my ally. I'm not afraid of you." They tentatively reached out and when he didn't shy away from their reach, framed his face between their hands. "I see you. Your kindness and your dedication to your friends and family. Even with your dragon heritage trying to take over, that never changes about you. So don't ever call yourself that again, alright?" Corrin blinked slowly before shuffling closer, his tail wrapping tightly around one of their legs. He let his head drop so it was only the Summoner's hands holding him up, eyes drifting closed.

"Okay, Summoner. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you."

"It's alright, Corrin… You remember I'm always here okay? And so are the others! Your family in Hoshido and Nohr, Robin, and a lot of other Heroes will support you!" Corrin hummed quietly, but said nothing. "Why don't… we go for a walk together? We can sit in the garden for awhile." Corrin finally moved away and shook his head as if clearing it.

"That sounds nice." His tail drifted back to circle his own leg, hand moving forward to clasp at their robes. "Y-you lead." The Summoner sighed softly and began towards the castle doors. Perhaps it had been a little too wishful thinking on their part that these Fallen Heroes would adapt so quickly to Askr…
