Hello everyone, a few people have been asking for updates with this story and when I looked at it, I realized I had only posted two chapters on this site! I had posted more on Nancyfan, luckily, because I don't think I saved the original docs. So here's chapter 3 and I'll try to post more this weekend.
Funny, I started off really liking Sonny, to only liking him with Carly and the kids, to just liking him with his kids, to tolerating him, to not liking him at all! Lol. But I'll go with my original plan for this story and try to make him likeable. Enjoy!
Chapter 3
"That's right, she's gone! Has she contacted you at all?" Sam's father spoke through the phone.
"No, and she better not. I don't want to ever see that brat again Cody! It's enough having Daniel in my basement."
"I need to find her. She's useful."
"I don't see what's so useful about her. But I'll let you know if she contacts me. I don't want her back in my life."
"Alexis? Alexis?" Alexis opened her eyes and saw Diane standing over her putting a wash cloth on her forehead.
"Diane? When did you get here?"
Diane sat on the chair across from her. "I went to the hospital, Sonny said he sent you home to get some rest. When I arrived I heard you yelling and the door was unlocked. So I walked in and it appeared you were having a nightmare. You're sweating, so I got you this cloth."
"Have you heard if there's any changes with Kristina?"
Diane shook her head. "She's the same. Sonny and Michael are with her."
"Michael is so good with her."
"Yeah he is."
Sam stepped up to the plate and all the boys but Dante were booing her. "Girls can't play baseball!" The pitcher pitched the ball to Sam and she swung as hard as she could, and the ball went over the fence. All the boys stood there in shock as Sam ran around all the bases and as she stepped on home plate Dante picked her up and their whole team cheered for her. "You won us the game!" Sam smiled at Dante and he set her down. The rest of the boys spread out and went separate ways.
"Where do you live?"
Sam looked at him and didn't say anything.
"Do you have to get home or do you wanna go to the carnival with me?"
Sam shrugged.
"Come on, it'll be fun." He took her hand and led the way. As they walked by the bench Sam grabbed her back pack and he took her to the fairgrounds. They saw clowns, animals, carnies, rides etc. Sam had never been to a carnival before and she stood there in amazement. "You okay?"
Sam nodded and smiled.
"Where do you wanna go first?"
Sam shrugged.
"How about the bumper cars?"
"Look Krissy, I made you a card." Michael handed her a card he drew for her. She smiled and he kissed her cheek. Sonny stood in the doorway watching his kids together.
"Sonny?"
He turned around and saw Dr Webber.
"Can I talk to you and Alexis?"
"Alexis went home for a bit. Did you find a match?"
He nodded. "Yes."
"Well who is it?"
"It's Alexis."
Sonny breathed a sigh of relief.
"But Sonny..."
"What?"
"Pregnant women cannot donate bone marrow."
"Then who else is a match?"
"We haven't found any. Do you or Alexis have anymore living blood relatives?"
Diane looked out at the storm outside the window then walked back over and sat across from Alexis. "Once Kristina is better and after you have that baby, we're going on a date to Jake's."
Alexis laughed as she situated herself in her seat. "We haven't had a 'date' in ages."
"Nope. And Sonny has been working Max a lot lately." Diane rolled her eyes. "I still don't see why he can't make more time for me. Women have needs you know... Alexis... Honey are you okay?"
Alexis held her stomach as water covered her seat. "I think... I think my water just broke."
Diane's eyes grew wide. "Are you joking? Are you sure you weren't just excited to see me?"
Alexis threw her purse at Diane. "You're really gonna throw jokes at me right now? You have to drive me to the hospital!"
"Well can't you tell the baby to wait? Like seriously, why do you have to go into labour when I'm here."
Alexis started breathing heavily. "Diane... please... help me up..."
"You're serious aren't you?" Diane got up and helped her up. "But seriously, why now?"
Alexis just answered with a stern look.
"Okay okay... come on.." She led her to the door and grabbed an umbrella.
Dante got Sam to laugh on the bumper cars, and he was happy to see Sam smile. She looked so sad when he met her. Then he led her over to the ferris wheel. He helped her on first then climbed in beside her and it started to go. "So how old are you?"
She spoke just above a whisper. "Thirteen... today..."
"Today? You mean today is your birthday? Well happy birthday!"
She blushed. "Noone has wished me a happy birthday before... well other than my brother."
"Are you from Bensenhurst?"
Sam shook her head.
"Did you run away from home?" Before Sam could answer they heard thunder and it started to pour rain. The ride stopped and they climbed off. "Come on, you can dry off and have dinner with me and my Ma." They ran through the rain. "Oh and I think my Aunt Connie is coming over. What's your name by the way?"
"Sam."
"Do not tell Alexis that she is a match. She'll insist on being the donor."
"Well Sonny, even if she insists we can't allow her to."
"Oh she would find a way to do it."
"Dad! Daddy!" They turned around and saw Michael running toward them. "There's something wrong with Krissy."
"Don't drive so fast."
"Hey! No backseat driving with me, you know that."
"I want to make it to the hospital... in one.. piece... please."
"But I want to get you there quick, there is no way I'm delivering that baby."
Alexis rolled her eyes. "Just please watch the road."
"Are you breathing deep? I heard that you need to take deep breaths."
"Yes I know. I've given birth before thank you."
"I am only trying to help. Geesh. You try to help a girl and all you get is yelled at-" They heard a loud noise and the car stopped.
"What happened?"
"I don't know... I'll go out and check." Diane climbed out of the car and saw a rock underneath the front right tire which was now flat. She climbed back in and looked at Alexis. "Do you know how to change a tire? Would you mind doing it?"
"Oh yes.. I'll just lug around my huge stomach in the rain and get down on my knees.. and change the tire..."
"Oh don't make fun! I'll do it then."
"No don't... there isn't enough time..." Alexis grabbed her arm. "The baby is coming right now..."
"Wipe your feet please and take your shoes off!" Dante's mother called to him from the kitchen.
"Yeah okay Ma." Dante slipped his shoes off. "Come on Sam, it's okay."
Sam looked at Dante then walked inside and slipped her shoes off next to Dante's.
"How was your day baby?" Olivia brought him a towel and saw Sam.
"It was fine. School boring like usual."
Olivia ruffled his hair and kissed his cheek then Dante wiped his cheek. "Awe Ma..."
She reached into the closet and got a towel for Sam and handed it to her. "Hey there honey, you're the girl I saw in the parking lot the other day. You know at the grocery store."
Sam smiled.
"Well come on in and get dried off you two."
"You two met?"
"Yeah I gave her a banana yesterday." Dante ran to his room to get changed.
"Are you okay sweetheart? Come in and sit down, make yourself comfortable."
Sam wrapped the towel around herself and followed her in and sat at the dining room table. Olivia went in the kitchen for a moment and returned with a glass of milk for Sam. "What's your name sweetie?"
Sam took a sip leaving a milk mustache above her lip. "Sam..."
"She doesn't talk much, but she seems cool." Dante had changed into his pajamas and sat across the table from Sam.
"Dante, you know what I tell you about wearing your PJs when we have guests over."
"Oh Ma." Dante blushed.
Olivia stood when there was a knock on the door. "That must be Connie. Excuse me."
Dante "Aunt Connie is my Ma's cousin. I call her my aunt though."
"Is that my little Dante?"
Dante stood up and hugged her. "I'm not little no more Aunt Connie."
"No you certainly are not."
Dante sat down again. "This is my new friend Sam."
"Hello Sam." She sat down across from Olivia.
"Hi..." Sam spoke shyly."
"Are you kidding me? If you think I'm going to deliver this baby, you are mistaken."
"Diane..."
"Of all the days to go into labour you have to do it when I come over."
"Diane..."
"There is no way I'm going down there."
"DIANE GET OVER HERE NOW! YOU ARE DELIVERING THIS BABY! I AM NOT IN THE MOOD TO ARGUE RIGHT NOW!"
"Okay okay, calm down. What do you need me to do?"
"Help me... get my feet up."
Diane rolled her eyes as she lifted Alexis's feet.
"I'll wash, you dry." Dante washed a plate and handed it to Sam.
"Thank you kids for doing the dishes." Olivia ran her hand through Dante's hair then she and her cousin went into the living room to watch tv.
Dante whispered. "Why did you run away?"
"I... uh... didn't like where I lived."
"This just in. Kristina Corinthos, daughter of District Attorney Alexis Davis and mob enforcer Sonny Corinthos of Port Charles is in the hospital suffering from leukemia." Olivia and Connie looked up as soon as they heard Sonny's name on the news. "She is in critical condition and the family has had no luck finding a bone marrow match. We will be back later with details."
"Okay push Alexis... the sooner this baby comes out, the sooner I can unleash my wrath on you."
Alexis pushed as hard as she could until they heard the sound of a baby's cry. "It's a boy!"
