It was not often that Black Rabbit found herself sick. A foolish decision of judging a game in the rain led to her current situation and ensured that she would be out sick for the next few days or so. As she was wallowing in her misery she reflected on the events of the past day after she'd woken up to find herself feeling ill.

She'd tried to go about her usual day but as soon as she'd gone downstairs for breakfast, Jin had seen through her false facade of wellness instantly and had dragged her back upstairs to her room. He wished her well before telling her to relax and then he was off. Throughout the day, she'd gotten many visitors wishing her well. Many of the kids had come up to make sure she would get better soon and bringing her anything she might have needed. Leticia had been by as well to see to her needs but the first of her problem children to come visit her was Asuka.

"Honestly Black Rabbit, how could you go and get yourself sick like this? I told you not to go and that this would happen!" Asuka had in fact told her that she'd get sick but Black Rabbit had done it anyway. After her lecture she slammed a bottle of medicine on her bedside table and left.

The next to visit her was Yo. "I heard you weren't feeling well Black Rabbit. Petting Calico always makes me feel better," she offered.

"Oh, thank you Yo, that's very kind of you but I don't think-"

"Pet. The. Cat."

Black Rabbit slowly ran her hand over Calico's back and as the cat purred she did begin to feel some comfort. As she looked back up towards Yo, she found the girl had already left. With a sweat drop and a grimace she continued to pet the cat.

Finally an hour into the evening, she received her final well wisher…

"Ahahahahahahaaaa! I can't believe you got sick from standing in the rain!"

"Shut up Izayoi! Black Rabbit is already feeling bad enough about it!" Protested Black Rabbit with tears in her eyes

"Yeah whatever, just remember to take your medicine. Leticia will be up soon with some soup for you," said the male problem child as he walked out of the room, off to who know where.

Black Rabbit sighed once more and once more rubbed Calico and slugged down gulp of the awful tasting medicine. Her problem children cared a lot, but did they have to have such crappy bedside manner?

Just a quick one-shot that I'd thought of after watching Mondaiji and an episode of Stargate: Atlantis in which John Sheppard tells Doctor Weir she has really bad bedside manner.

Anyways, Happy New Year everyone! Let's hope that 2018 will be better than the suck fest of 2017!
