Beast Boy watched as Raven turned into her demon self, watched as she lost all her control. He had his mouth open in a silent scream, fear taking over his heart. He watched as she used her demon abilities to try and kill Captain Skull, the villain they had been fighting.

She only stopped herself when Robin called her name. She gasped out of her trance, her eyes wide with fear. "I-I'm … I'm so sorry," she whispered.

With that, she closed her eyes and she disappeared.

Garfield knew where she went, and he wanted, more than anything, to find her and help her. He saw the pain she had been in.

"Robin!" he called out to his leader. "I wanna find her! She needs help! Please!"

Robin was quick to nod. "Go!" he exclaimed.

The titan smiled in gratitude, and then morphed into a hawk, taking flight and starting his way back to Titans Tower. The minute he got in, he looked through every part of the tower until he finally found her … on the roof of the building.

"Raven?" he asked cautiously.

When the woman turned around, he saw that she was crying. "Garfield?

"Come here," he said softly, spreading his arms out.

Raven was quick to obey, charging at him and lunging into his embrace. She buried her face in his shoulder as she cried. "How can you still like me?" she wondered aloud. "I'm a monster."

Garfield shook his head. "You are not a monster, Rae," he quickly said. "You just lost control, that's all. Everyone loses control sometimes."

His girlfriend looked up, the tears never leaving her eyes. "But what if I had hurt one of you? I would have never forgiven myself for that, let alone the team."

"We would have forgiven you, Rae. We would have still loved you."

A sudden anger took over her heart. She felt herself turn back into her demon self, and a blast of guilt hit her when Beast Boy stepped back.

"Raven…," he began.

"Look at me, Beast Boy!" she said, cutting him off. "Who would ever love this?!" The tears were now burning through her skin, falling steadily down her face.

Garfield only stared at her for a few seconds, his face wearing a shocked expression, when he suddenly pulled her back into a hug.

Raven gasped, unsure of what to do. She let out a heavy sob instead.

"I do," the changeling said.

She froze then, everything around her seemingly stopping. She felt him hug her tighter, and realization hit her.

She realized just how much he cared.

The two of them sank to the ground, holding onto each other tightly.

As Raven sobbed, she slowly transformed into her human self, and she curled up against her Garfield, covering her face with her hands. "I'm so sorry, Gar," she cried. "I'm sorry for being the monster that I am."

"You are not a monster, Raven," Garfield said. "You're just you. You may be different … but so is everyone else. Doesn't make you a monster. And even if you were a monster, I would've still loved you."

Raven gasped. "You would?" she questioned, looking up at him.

"Of course I would."

The woman leaned forward to kiss him then, unable to resist the urge. When the two of them pulled away, she said, "Thank you, Gar. You have no idea how much this means to me."
