775There was a green rip in the sky and 5 figures dropped from the ground in a 1-2-3 triangle formation, the lead one having spiky blond hair and a sword strapped across his back.
"I'm sorry about being late to the party, but I had to go grab some of my friends" said the man in the front of the triangle closest to Thanos' army, revealing it to be Naruto.
There was a series of gasps as people realized that Naruto had brought with him, the Winter Solider, Natasha, a pale white girl with long blonde hair in a black suit with a glowing pink outline, and Wade in a different suit, this one being a red and black full body tactical suit houses a number of pockets containing multiple types of guns, grenades, sai, and knives. The suit now had two holsters on his back to house his katanas, but also with a teleporter on his wrist.
"The Maelstrom" greeted Thanos
"The purple bitch who I've been chasing across the universe," said Naruto
"I broke your neck once, I will rip your head off this time" tsk' Thanos
"It's been a long five years, I'm not the same as I once was," replied Naruto as the world started to shake around him and he entered KCM mode, but this time instead of a yellow energy cloak, he glowed a deep orange.
That was all the armies needed for them to rush each other, Naruto zoomed off faster than anyone could track and his fist slammed into the jaw of Thanos, sending him skidding back through his own army.
Blood trickled from the corners of his mouth but violently exploded out of his mouth as Naruto appeared on top of him and slammed his foot down with every ounce of his strength on top of Thanos' chest.
Naruto reached down and grabbed Thanos by the front of his armor before tossing him up into the air and hitting him a kick to the chest that broke several ribs. Thanos' minion rush Naruto, but he weaves through their attacks easily. The endless power of Kurama making him so much above these fodder, that they might as well died before he turned his attention to them. Lightning crackles through the sky and Thor roars as he slams Stormbreaker down on the ground, killing handfuls of the army at a time.
The ships above them started raining down fire onto the battlefield as Thanos retreated from Naruto, taking a moment to regroup as he realized that Naruto might be too much for him without the stones.
Naruto raced around the battlefield, saving his allies from the fire of the spaceship and he felt the world shake with power as Thanos slipped on the gauntlet. But this was not the full power of the stones. No, Naruto had felt that when the Snap had happened, this was much weaker than the feeling he had experienced in that moment.
"We need to get rid of those ships" commented Naruto
"Agreed" said Thor as he flew past Naruto, before he stopped in the middle of the air and threw Stormbreaker at the largest ship, his mighty axe slicing right through it before looping around back to him, punching through the ship a second time ship a second time.
Naruto nodded before he charged up a duel Rasenshurikens before launching them at the remaining twin big ships. The chakra based attacked shredded them and Naruto smirked as the various Thanos minions seemed to realize the power that Naruto was capable of wielding. Not that they would be allowed to surrender to him, no everyone not on his side at the beginning of the fight would only be allowed one fate: death.
Naruto felt the wind shift as he glanced back over to where Thanos was, the Mad Titan facing Captain America and Ironman at the same time. He was there instantly, his foot buried into the stomach of Thanos. But wielding a trio of Infinity Stones including the Power Stone, the blow didn't pack the same punch as it did previously.
Thanos absorbed the blow before backhanding Naruto away, his speed doing nothing to help him avoid the blow. Thanos was much faster, a single step allowing him to keep up with the airborne Naruto.
Naruto groaned as he was blasted with a purple beam of energy and it burnt through the protective cloak that Kurama's chakra provided. Thor's Stormbreaker sliced through the ground in between them, absorbing the blast of energy and allowing Naruto to climb back to his feet. His chakra cloak slowly morphing back into his body as he struggled to keep up with the strain of using the mode.
Thanos grabbed Stormbreaker as he raced at Naruto and Naruto ducked under the wild swing, his foot finding Thanos' knee, forcing the giant man down to a knee. Naruto did a backflip to avoid a blast of energy but was unable to put any more pressure on the Titan as he unleashed a wave of destructive energy.
Pepper and Tony matched the beam that Thanos sent out from the gauntlet with their combined power from their suits.
"We need a plan" said Tony through their coms.
Naruto resisted the urge to give a sarcastic answer before Thanos turned the ground into quicksand in an attempt to trap all of the people surrounding him.
"Hey, Naruto can you take out those giant beasts on the west side of the field?" asked T'Challa
Naruto didn't reply but trusted Tony and the others to hold off Thanos, especially when Wanda dropped down on the battlefield in support of them. The giant mutant beings were rampaging through the field, destroying everything that they came into touch with.
But as Naruto powered up a rasengan to kill one of them, It was ripped apart by a lanky Spider-Man suit wearing man. Naruto quickly changed course to the other one and blew it's head off with a rasengan before landing on the ground.
A red and blue blur slammed into him, and Naruto found himself pulled into a tight hug with the Spider-Man that he actually knew.
"Mr. Naruto, I was going to die then Tony took a stab for me and then a different doctor strange appeared and he sent me to another universe and I met a version of me and we shared pizza and he's really cook and he's older and he's a hero like me and I brought him here and I don't know what to do" rambled Peter T Parker
Naruto just returned the hug that his young friend was trying to give him, figuring he would have the ability to get the full story from the boy later.
"I gotta save the world now bud" said Naruto as he broke the hug, "But I wanna hear all about this when I finish kicking his ass"
With Tony:
The timer that he had built into his suit was done to minutes and that felt so bad. He glanced over to see Naruto talking with a pair of Spider-man, hugging the smaller of the two. Dr. Strange glanced at him, a haunted look in his eyes.
One day you're going to have to do something for the good fight that you might not feel comfortable doing
He still remembered the unusual Dr. Strange's words before he sent him off on this mission to save the world. It seemed that moment was about to come, but Fate was never what it seemed and he knew that when he realized that none of them really packed the punch needed to kill Thanos without an infinity stone of their own.
Thanos with them was just too durable and powerful, but he already had known that. They had gotten their ass kicked by him for years. Even with Naruto and his allies from the multi-verse, it wasn't enough. Naruto had the power if he could get a clean fight without the stones, but Thanos didn't seem like the type to allow a power up free fight.
But what if I had my set of stones?
That simple question was answer as the 7 minutes left on his time dropped down to 2 minutes and he shot out several scavenger bots to search for stones that he could track through the massive amounts of radiation that they gave off.
They burrowed through the rubble while Tony tried to blast Thanos with his hand pulsers once more, but the purple skinned being just backhanded them away.
Naruto appeared back in the fight, his foot connecting with Thanos' face once more. The blood and spit that flew from the titan's mouth was enough Tony to wince.
Boss, all of the stones have been located
Friday's message in his ear made Tony think about what he could do with his own trio of Infinity stones? Thanos had the power stone, the mind stone, and what looked to be the space stone. That left Tony with the Aether, Time, and Soul stones, which was probably the least useful trio of stones to have in this situation going up against Thanos.
The bots brought them to Tony and they integrated into his armor, the power flowing through them. But the timer dropped down to 3 seconds and Tony whirled around only to see Thanos' gauntlet covered hand punch through his chest.
Tony's last vision of life was Thanos standing over him, collecting the last three stones and a giant angry red pillar exploding in the back as Naruto screamed out "THANOSSSSS!" with pure agony in his voice.
Thanos frozen in the sheer power of the stones was defenseless to the slash of red energy that left blistering claw marks all over his body. Groaning in pain, he blinked and Naruto was in front of him, a punch landing on his face with a loud smack.
Blood flowed freely as the red energy that covered Naruto's body ate through his skin with ease. Thanos went to make another snap with the gauntlet, but Naruto's hand clamped down on the wrist part of the gauntlet and he squeezed so hard that the metal cracked in half. Thanos screamed in pain as his forearm snapped in half, the gauntlet ruined and the stones sent bouncing away.
A backhand sent him stumbling back and Naruto raced forward and used his chest as a springboard to launch himself into the air before screaming down a massive shockwave that crushed Thanos, sending the Titan to his backside on the ground and then crushing him into the ground with enough force to leave a foot deep imprint.
Naruto landed feet first onto Thanos chest, pushing him further into the ground. Stepping off of him, Naruto reached down with his right hand and pulled Thanos out of the ground as his left hand charged up a Rasengan that he slammed into Thanos' stomach, blasting him away.
Naruto was a red blur as he tore through the army as he made his way, chasing after Thanos' flying body. Thanos landed and Naruto blurred in and kicked him in the mouth, causing teeth to fly out of the Titan's mouth.
"You stupid Maelstrom" growled Thanos as he opened his hand to reveal the power stone revealed in it. Naruto was taken back when he swallowed the power stone in a gulp and his purple skin took on an extra purple glow to it.
Thanos climbed back to his feet, his muscles rippling and growing as he let out a massive roar of power.
The roar quickly turned into another groan as Naruto buried his fist into Thanos' stomach, the skin denting but not tearing from the force of the punch.
"You left yourself open" said Naruto, before he back handed him with enough force to sent Thanos spinning to the ground.
With the Titan Tony:
It was a weird thing to be turned to dust in the middle of dying, but then again his entire life had been weird for the last decade plus of his life.
His head was pounding and his chest was still in more pain than he could ever remember experiencing.
"Ah, you're back" said a familiar voice, Dr Strange from his left. The mystic arts user was floating above the ground, his eyes locked onto the form of Tony.
"What happened?" asked Tony
"A lot" admitted Strange, "Too much to explain right now, but things are going as planned. Naruto is currently kicking Thanos' purple ass up and down the battlefield. But we still need a final blow to really end the battle"
Tony hissed in pain before Strange opened his hand and revealed the time stone, undoing the damage to Tony's chest and healing him.
"Wow, you really are a doctor" commented Tony with a cheeky smile
Strange rolled his eyes, "Let's get work, we just need Thanos to vomit and the time is coming sooner than you might think"
Tony made a face, "Okay, you don't have to explain everything to me, how about just that line?"
"Thanos swallowed the power stone" answered Strange as he opened a portal to the battleground and the two of them stepped through it, returning to the ruins of the former Avengers' compound.
"Not the weirdest thing I've heard in my life" replied Tony as Strange led him to the remaining stones and the cracked gauntlet.
With Naruto:
Naruto hissed in pain as Thanos caught his kick and snapped his leg in half, right at the knee. The limb spasmed in pain but a quick clone thrusting a rasengan, forced Thanos into releasing Naruto whose leg mended back together within seconds.
"Fuck, I'm not as strong anymore" commented Naruto as the red cloak of Kurama chakra around his body flickered.
"No, that is not the case Naruto" said Thor as he landed next to Naruto, "He is simply drawing more and more power from the stone. With every second that his body grows accustomed to the foreign power source, the stronger he grows"
"Ok, what do you suggest?" asked Naruto
"An age strategy, hit him really hard and force him to puke up the stone" answered Thor as he presented Stormbreaker to Naruto.
Naruto grasped the wooden handle of the axe and he felt all of Kurama's chakra in his body dissipate as a new energy source flowed into his body. This felt so similar to the sensation of Sage Mode and Naruto felt his body renew with energy as Thor stumbled backwards, his source of energy being removed.
"End this brother" said Thor as he collapsed on the ground.
Naruto nodded as he allowed the new power to flow throw his body and he walked forward with confidence that he could finish Thanos off.
The axe urged him forward and Naruto gave into the feeling and was ripped off his feet as he flew through the air and used the flying attack to slash the axe at Thanos as he approached. Thanos caught the blade between both of his hands and Naruto used the momentum from the move to swing around and hit Thanos in the stomach with both of his feet.
Thanos gasped from the force of the blow and Naruto ripped Stormbreaker from his grasp and used the hammer side to bash Thanos in the chest. He could feel the caving of Thanos' ribs under the abuse he had just laid out. But the power stone did it's best to heal Thanos as his body took on more and more damage.
Naruto kicked Thanos under the chin, sending him up in to the air before hammering with Stormbreaker in the stomach once more, this time with enough force to physically punch through his chest and out the back end. Blood, bones, and a tiny purple stone exploded out of his back as it gave way to the hammer side of Stormbreaker.
The purple stone was zipped off by Dr. Strange's magic by the feel of it and Naruto stood over Thanos.
"This is it, you've lost" said Naruto as he raised Stormbreaker
"I will raise more Maelstrom, Death is not something that can defeat me" spat Thanos as his body slowly knit itself back together before Naruto's eyes, "My quest is not one that can be stopped. Many such as yourself have tried to stop me, but they always fail"
Naruto shook his head, "You've never fought anyone like me"
"Perhaps you are slightly more unique than most of the run of the mill fodder that I have come across in my travels of the Universe, but you are not that special brat" dismissed Thanos, "Even if you strike me down here, my will … my essence will continue on forward until someone completes my mission. I am inevitable"
There was a wet coughing sound before Naruto and he turned to see Tony standing there, his chest wound healed by magic it seemed.
"And I am Ironman" said Tony before he put the power stone into the nanotech suit that he was wearing, his body tensing as it was overrun by power.
"Tony, don't do this" said Naruto as he realized what Tony was about to do and he took a step towards his friend, only for Tony to power through the pain and make the snap.
Naruto was so close to Tony that he was blasted off his feet from the massive shockwave that the snap gave off.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself in an endless orange void that was filled with mid-calf deep water.
He climbed to his feet and walked over to the burnt body of Tony Stark, the man's right right side was badly burnt, covered in blisters and the suit he was wearing was melted to his body from the sheer heat the snap had given off. But, somehow he was alive in this world and that meant that Naruto had a chance to save his friend.
"He's alive because of my affection for you" said a chilly female voice
Naruto turned around to see her, Death standing before him. Her cloaks hugging her feminine form, her long raven locks flooding out of the edges of her hoodie, Her face was still hidden from him, but Naruto could tell it was her.
"Thank you" said Naruto politely, she had given him so much guidance that led him to this point. She had also let him say good bye to Natasha that time she had died.
"You were supposed to make the snap, but Eternality was determined to get his hands on Tony Stark for creating time travel in some other branch of the timeline" said Death
"So now what?"
"That is an excellent question love" purred Death, "What do you want to do?"
Naruto suddenly realized that his body was much heavier than he ever realized, he had been fighting all of his life, "I think I want to rest"
"That is a respectable choice love, but what if you need to fight once more?" questioned Death
"Then I will pick up my sword and do whatever I need to do to make sure the world … the universe is safe again" committed Naruto
"You have taken Natasha from my grasps, you have taken Bucky Barnes, Magik, and your failed clone Wade from me as well. You take and take and take Naruto Uzumaki, but your time will come" tsk Death
"What does that mean?" asked Naruto
"Worry not about my words at this moment, it is not of your concern now. Still, do not forget, Death claims everyone, sooner or later" said Death
"Like you or your title?" asked Naruto
"Yes" answered Death
She waved her hand and said "Heal your friend before I rescind such a kindness"
Naruto nodded, his hand flooded with the golden controlled Chakra of Kurama and he pushed it into Tony, healing him. It was right before he finished, he heard her say "I may not have you to myself Naruto, but your clone Wade Wilson has been a much desired companion. I think I shall keep him for myself"
Naruto turned to look at where she had been, but it was just the two of them and the orange realm faded away and they were in the real world once more.
Naruto kneeling over Tony who looked surprised to still be alive, but smiled up at Naruto anyway.
"We did it" exclaimed Tony and Naruto pulled him up into a sitting position as Thanos, his followers, and anyone who might have tried to follow his path slowly turned into dust as the snap took hold.
"You did it, Tony. You saved the world" chuckled Naruto, "You stupid son of a bitch, you did it"
"This group project" muttered Tony as Pepper landed next to them and she looked down at both of them.
"I probably have a bleeding ulcer due to all the stress you gave me, Tony" cried Pepper as she launched herself at him, pulling him into a hug.
Naruto backed up slowly, before he dropped to the ground in exhaustion. His mind wasn't ready for sleep, but he was physically tired and his legs were more than ready to take a break. He looked up at the darkening sky, his view blocked after a moment by Nat.
"Hey blond man, do you know where I can find the Avengers?" she asked innocently, "I heard their leader is hot"
"Tony is a sexy beast" admitted Naruto before he chuckled as Nat dropped to the ground beside him, pulling his head into her lap.
"I was actually told this Naruto guy was the leader of the Avengers" she whispered before she leaned down and gave him a soft kiss on the lips.
It tasted like sweat, ash, and grime. A hint of gunpowder, cherry chapstick, and salty laker water was in there as well.
But it was the most important kiss of Naruto and Natasha's life, it was the start of their happily ever after.
1 week later: Stark Tower in Manhattan
The Avengers and all of their friends had cleared out the damaged field, removing all the reminders of their battle with Thanos.
The main core was together with some extras, namely the next generation of young heros and Peter A with Gwen by his side.
"So, Steve, what's next for you?" asked Naruto
"Well, this version of Bucky isn't a complete ass, so I plan on doing a cross country road trip with him as we both get adjusted to being free," said Steve
"Attaboy, if you need anything, you know how to reach me" said Naruto, "And language"
"Of course," said Steve with a big smile on his face
"You can visit us any time Steve and if Bucky agrees not to hurt anyone, he can come too" said Tony with Pepper at his side
"How could I not visit my favorite niece?" said Steve rhetorically
"I will visit when I can, we have lost so many Asgardian lives in the last 5 years, I have to attend to my people," said Thor
"Understandable buddy, The Stark Foundation has already gotten so many donors lined up to help with the rebuild," said Tony
"I appreciate that brother, Loki has done his best while I have been off chasing Thanos" said Thor, "It will be nice to be home for a while"
"Nat and I will visit" said Naruto
"Thank you" said Thor as he leaned on Stormbreaker
"I am officially retired guys" said Clint with a yawn
"I would hope so, because so am I" said Tony
Steve nodded in understanding, "If anyone deserves to hang them up, it's you two"
Naruto sighed, "I'm going to fucking miss you two"
He pulled Clint and Tony into a tight hug that was joined by Thor, Steve, and Natasha as she reentered the room.
"The six of us started the Avengers and it's great that the six of us all got out of it in one piece" noted Natasha with a smile
"Like 4 of us literally died," said Tony
"Walk it off baby" chuckled Steve
"Death is just a sign that you were worth killing" added Thor
Naruto groaned, "Try not to die guys"
"So, what do we do about the new guys?" asked Tony gesturing to Shuri, Peter A, the X-men, their Peter T Parker.
"I think we hand things off to them" admitted Clint
"My road trip will be over in a couple of months, I can pick up training them after the summer is over" said Steve
There was a clearing of a throat and the Avengers turned to see Nick Fury standing there, a smirk on his face and his signature eye patch in place.
"I believe that I can take them off your hands" said Fury
"Nobody better" admitted Naruto
"I appreciate that Agent Whiskers" said Fury as everyone laughed at the fuming glare Naruto gave Fury.
They're work was done … for now.
A/N: So I had this massive multichapter ending in my mind. But between hurting my hand, moving twice, breaking a foot, starting a new job at the hospital, several 100 hour weeks doing medical research at Orlando Health, I lost a lot of my will to write all that out. But you deserved an ending, this was my first really big story and I love each and every one of you who have been along this journey with me.
I might rewrite this one day and do a better job, but this is it for right now with this particular story. I just wanted to give you guys a happy ending to bring it to a close.
