Chapter 24

Rory POV

The holidays were quickly approaching so Finn and I were trying to figure out our plans. We had managed to convince everyone to have one big Thanksgiving at the Gilmores. Christmas wouldn't be as big of a deal because the Gilmores would be in Europe. The Hayden's were going to Boston so we wouldn't see them until January. So that just left the Morgan's and Mom and Luke. Not to mention that Finn and I still had to finalize plans for the bachelor and bachelorette parties for Steph and Colin in January. Logan had practically moved in with us while his dad was in the hospital but shortly before Mitchum was released from the hospital we found out that Mitchum was retiring. So he was going to need to find an apartment in New York. Paris had called and told me that Doyle had proposed to her. They were now engaged. I was happy for my friends that were taking that next step their relationships but I couldn't help but think about all of the obstacles that Finn and I had overcome.

I left the office and headed to my weekly therapy session. After signing in, I waited to be called back. When I got into the back and got sat down, Liz came in and greeted me. "Hi Rory." She said sitting down in her chair.

"Hi Liz." I said.

"Something wrong?" She asked me.

"Not necessarily wrong, just had me deep in thought." I said.

"Okay, well let's talk about it." She said.

I let out a sigh. "Well my friend Paris called me the other day to tell me that now she's engaged which makes the second one of my friends to get engaged." I told her.

"So it makes you think about where your life is going?" She asked me.

I nodded. "Well yeah. I mean before Finn left for Australia we were headed towards that path, you know. Had he not gone we would've moved in together and probably started talking about our future." I said.

"Since he's been back have you guys talked about it? Your future that is."

"We talked about it a little bit when we first got back together, but we haven't like sat down and planned the rest of our lives or anything." I said.

"Do you think that you should? I mean, would you like to have a timetable or would you rather be surprised when life altering moments happen?" She asked me.

"I guess I haven't really thought about it much. I mean, I don't exactly have the best role models for successful relationships." I said and she nodded.

"Maybe you should think about where you want things to go, write them down and when you're sure… you and Finn can sit down and talk about it… make sure that you're on the same page with everything." She said.

I nodded. "Yeah, maybe." I said.

When I got home that evening, I showered and changed for my girl's night with Steph, Juliet and Rosemary. I'd decided on a new dress that I'd bought the last time Steph and I'd gone shopping. I was finishing up my hair when Finn walked in. "Hey babe. How was your day?" I asked him.

"It was okay. I managed to get the hotel booked for New Year's." He said.

"That's awesome. I talked to Mom and Luke, she's so excited." I said.

"What's this?" I heard Finn ask.

I sat the curling iron down on the bathroom sink and I walked out of the bathroom. Finn had my notebook. "It's my notebook. I had a therapy session today." I said and Finn nodded. "We were talking about how my friends were moving forward with their lives and…"

"It made you think." Finn said.

"Yeah. So my therapist suggested that I write down things that I want out of our relationship and when I was comfortable with it, that you and I should talk. I honestly didn't mean to leave it lying out." I said.

"But it's what you want?" He said never looking up from the notebook.

"Yes." I said causing him to look up at me. "I was thinking about it earlier and I honestly think that if you hadn't gone to Australia that we would've moved in together after you graduated. And I'd like to think that we'd be engaged or even married by now." I told him.

"Kids?" He asked.

"Someday." I said and he nodded.

By the time that I got to the restaurant, the girls were all waiting for me. "Sorry I'm late." I said as I sat down.

"It's all good. Juliet just got here too. She said she has news for us." Steph said.

"By all means…share." I said, joking.

"Logan and I are dating." Juliet said.

Silence fell over the table. "Umm…congratulations." I said. I mean, we all knew that Juliet had liked Logan but I guess we all thought that he was too blind to see it.

"Thanks." Juliet said.

I took a drink of my wine. "Finn got the hotel set up for New Year's." I said quickly changing the subject.

"That's good. Where are we staying?" Rosemary asked.

"The Atlantis Resort." I told them.

"It's supposed to be beautiful there." Steph said.

"Yeah." I said.

"What's wrong?" Steph asked me.

I shrugged. "I don't know. I mean, you and Paris are both engaged. I'm maid of honor for both and I'm happy for you guys I am…but part of me wonders if me and Finn…will ever get there." I said.

"You will. You know that he loves you and cares about you. I mean, if he hadn't left when he did… I'm pretty sure you guys would already be married." Steph said.

"I know. I don't know why I'm feeling like this." I said, drinking some more of my wine.

"Ror, you and Finn have been through a lot. It's understandable that you want to make sure that your relationship is solid. It's what every girl wants. Especially when you've grown up the way that we have." Steph said. "Have you talked to Finn about the way that your feeling?"

"A little." I said. The waitress came and took our order. While we waited on our food, we talked a little about Steph's bachelorette party which we'd decided needed to be a pamper weekend so we were planning on spending the weekend at a spa. Hopefully the holidays would pass with little drama and then we could start focusing on relaxation.

A/N: I know.. this was a short one but I feel it was important to show you guys kind of where Rory's head is at. Hope that you guys enjoyed it.
