Percy's POV:

I was swimming in the school's pool, for which I had come to school an hour early, willingly, Annabeth would be proud. There was a lot going on, all the deal with Apollo being turned into a human and Leo returning with Calypso, it had taken all of us by surprise. We still hadn't found a way to communicate with Camp Jupiter, Jason would have been so happy to see Leo, after all those nights we spent mourning him.

I didn't realize that as I was thinking all of this, I had sunk to the bottom of the pool, and was now sitting cross-legged on the floor, there isn't anyone here, I might as well stay a little longer, I thought, it was true, most days I was the only one who came to the pool this early, or school for that matter. Annabeth had once told me I should try to visit the library too, since I come here this early, yeah and that's gonna happen. Given my dyslexia, it is an accomplishment I manage to read my school textbooks; I would never willingly read any other book.

After a long time just sitting there, I decided to move around a little bit, but I was still underwater, I wondered how the water calmed me so easily, nevertheless it was good to be able to calm down instantly, I also thought about my future, like what I wanted to do after high school, truthfully, I had never thought I would make it this far, I probably expected to die when I was like 14. It was a miracle I survived two major wars.

Just then I heard someone splash into the water, grab my arm and pull me up, it happened all too fast for me to properly register who it was. When we broke through the surface, the man still hadn't let go of my arm. It was my coach. Shit.

"How the bloody hell are you still alive?!" he said, his name was Dylan, though he was a pretty cool guy, he didn't tolerate two things, 1) lies and 2) weird shit. This definitely classified as weird shit.

"I, err, umm…" I struggled for words, how do you explain to someone you can breather underwater?

"Who's your father?" he asked. Now I was a little taken aback by this question, his tone was demanding, like he knew what he was asking.

"Why?" I asked.

"Just tell me boy, yer a sea spawn aren't you?" he said. Wow, now that one I definitely did not expect.

"What makes you think so?" I said, trying to avoid the question, just in case he turned out to be monster.

"For starters, you have been underwater for more than 20 minutes, without dying; I don't think any mortal could do that," he said, surprisingly he sounded very calm, like he dealt with shit like this on a daily basis, he probably did, I didn't question that.

"How do you know?" I asked

"I am a son of Hermes, of course I know," he said. Oh, now it made sense, coach also spoke 8 different languages; it makes sense, since Hermes is also the god of languages. "Now, who's your father or mother?" he said

"Poseidon, he's my father," I said

We then chatted for a long time about demigod problems, and problems in general, as it turns out, hes much more relatable than we thought. Though I had a lot of friends at school, it was strangely comforting to talk to him.

And that is the story of how my swim coach turned out to be a Greek demigod, and my friend.

REVIEW! That's all I ask for, pretty please…
