Chapter 7
Percy POV
Alden continued, "The only problem is, I'm not sure what to do with you. If the Council finds out you are here. We are going to have problems but you aren't techni-"
"Wait, what? No, you have to tell us what happened when elves and demigods worked together! You can't just stop in the middle of a cliffhanger!" Keefe cried.
Alden looked confused, but Percy agreed with Keefe. He wanted to hear this story.
"Yeah, how did you guys plot against the gods?" Percy asked.
"Oh, well we never went through with it. The Council deemed it too dangerous to even try. We planned to storm Mtn. Olympus and trap the gods. There were too many faults with that plan. Honestly, it was just talk between some of the Emissaries. The Council shut it down pretty quickly. That's another reason why they sunk Atlantis. The gods didn't sign the treaty in the first place. But since they kept mostly to themselves and their people, they weren't considered much of a threat."
"But why are we just now hearing about this?" Sophie asked, pointedly.
"The public wasn't supposed to know for fear they would see the gods as a higher power as the Greeks did. A higher power than the Council, I suppose. They didn't want anyone to think that they weren't in control," Alden said, "I've always thought there was another reason, but if there is, I don't know about it."
Nico pips up, "Um excuse sir, this is a great story and all. But why are we here? I didn't know about this place, so how could I shadow travel here? And how did you know our names?"
"Ah yes. To be honest, I'm not sure how you are here. Though I would love to ask you some questions about this shadow-traveling ability that you have. It sounds much like Sophie's teleporting, but I would like to learn about it. I'm sure Mr. Forkle would like to also."
"Does he know about them?" Sophie asked.
"No, he doesn't. The only reason that I know is that I was assigned to watch over the activity of the gods and demigods. I've been carefully watching some of the recent activity when it spiked about a year ago. The gods went into mayhem. I'm still not quite sure how it happened, but after a while, it seemed to stop. I believe that has to do with you three. You and some others were always around the areas of activity when they occurred. That is how I know your names because I began to watch and make sure you took care of the problem."
"Oh yeah, that was us." Percy scratched the back of his head, sheepishly, "Not just us, we had more help. The gods got confused because their Roman parts were conflicting a lot with their Greek. They couldn't distinguish between the two and it was just a whole mess. But we somehow fixed it, so yeah."
"So that's what you meant when you said you had saved the world a couple of times before," Fitz commented.
"Yeah. Fighting and fixing things for the gods is pretty much our day and night job." Percy said.
"That's super cool." Keefe put his arm around Sophie, "Not as cool as Foster saving the world cool, but still cool."
Sophie rolled her eyes, smiling.
