King: And we return again. Finally got along far enough into this to be ready to post. But damn...
Knox: Yeah. But at least you're moving forward, right?
King: Yeah. That's fair in a way. Anyway, I hope you enjoy as usual. I decided to get a little creative with the set up. At least, I like to think I have.

The next world kicked up quickly.
The scene was dark with a voice in the background.
"I cannot atone for what I have done." The voice was unlike any the viewers had ever heard. Deep and echoing, like it was beyond human. "I have failed by not but my own hubris. Damn it all, should I realize this so late."
Ozpin sighed with a light nod. He knew this feeling far too well. Previous lives have felt this far too often.
"Had I known… No. If I had listened. I am sorry my Father. I failed you and your mission. I am far too late to change this fate. I am forever in the grasp of the Master of Change. But all is not lost. I have found something. Something quite interesting."
The scene showed a bright yellow and purple explosion off in the distance before shooting off like a comet.
Salem felt her eye twitch. She knew exactly what that was.
"Beyond our galaxy. Beyond the will of the Warp. A realm without the eyes of the Corrupted Gods. I shall send a shard of my self, my BETTER self, to this realm. The shard held in the Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights will make a wonderful distraction."
A red flame with blue wisps flying off flew through the void and toward the source of the comet.
"It will take a very long time. Perhaps I will already be lost by the time it arrives. Perhaps our ENTIRE GALAXY will be gone by then. It matters not. Go now by Shard of Genesis. Go and find new life and will in a world beyond our stars."
The flame flew off into the void. It slowly moved across the screen of black, the comet-like tail barely visible as the screen moved out farther and farther. The vastness of space all they could truly see. No stars. No planets. A space between galaxies. A space devoid of everything.
Nora was weaving lightly in her chair. She was having a borderline existential crisis. The idea of being so small didn't sit right with her. It made her feel… insignificant. She was jolted out of this by a hand falling onto her shoulder. She turned to find Jaune and many of the others looking at her, concerned. She had been shaking apparently. Seeing so many people care about her… She couldn't help but smile. She wasn't insignificant. There was no way she could've been.
How long?
How long had the Shard been flying through space?
Well… The distance between the Milky Way and Andromeda is 2.5 million lightyears. And this was a bit farther than that…
"What's a lightyear?" Ilia asked, having never heard the word before.
King responded, knowing none of them had, "A lightyear is the approximate distance that light can travel after one year."
"Then… two-a-half million lightyears…" Ruby fell back in her chair as it sank in.
"Is a very long distance."
The Shard jolted before it picked up speed. The camera spun around to show blasted chunks of moon. The camera turned further to show Remnant. The Shard broke the atmosphere and flew toward the nearby treeline.
Here we go! The Shard seemed to be floating around, looking for something. Just need to find a body to attach to. Ideally, I could try to attach myself onto an unborn soul and be born as a melded being. Though… it might be hard to explain why the child would be bright red. Assuming that would happen. The Shard stopped above the trees.
The scenery being shown caused Pyrrha to squint at the screen. "Isn't that…?"
A blur with a red trail flew past the screen and over the Shard. Said shard disappeared. After a moment, the sound of a spear sticking to a tree could be heard along with a faint, "Thank you!"
The moment causing Coco to laugh. "I remember hearing about that! Damn Pyrrha, you were desperate to get Jaune as your partner, huh?"
Pyrrha's face turned bright red as she stammered, "It wasn't that! I just thought he would be a good teammate and he needed help and…!" She ultimately gave up before letting out a sigh, remembering who she was talking to. Coco didn't care. It was fun for her to tease others.
Nevermind then…
Small scenes played out showing the initiation as everyone found their partners. Meanwhile, Jaune was hanging from a spear pinning his hood to the tree.
"Huh." This got Coco's attention. "I don't remember seeing a hole in your hoodie. Did you replace it?"
"No." Jaune brought his hand over his shoulder and lightly teased his finger against a small stitching. "I repaired it as best I could. My family all worked together to get this, so I couldn't just toss it."
Coco grinned with a nod, "Good to know." She could appreciate a man that understood sentimentality and, more importantly, how to make clothing repairs.
Jaune sighed as he looked down toward the ground. "What am I doing?" He looked over to the spear that likely saved his life before his gaze fell downward again. "I just wanted to be a hero. I didn't think they'd literally throw us off a cliff!" He struggled slightly, but froze hearing a light tearing sound. Probably not a good idea to thrash around too much until he got his footing.
He glanced at the spear again. He recognized it as belonging to the girl from this morning. Pyrrha, if his memory served. He remembered her, of course, but it was a 'I couldn't spell her name if you asked' kind of recognition. He wondered if this was her retaliation for not recognizing her despite her being so famous.
"Actually, I found it rather refreshing." Pyrrha confirmed. "I'm so used to people knowing who I am and judging how they think I am rather than getting to know me. So I hope you never thought I'd be mad at you for not knowing me." She gave Jaune a light smile.
Jaune scratched his cheek slightly, "I don't think I ever thought that."
Jaune wondered if there was a way down that didn't include breaking a bone. The camera showed him from his left side. The normally sapphire blue began to pale and turn brighter in hue. Slowly, it became a bright yellow, as though peering into the sun itself.
"Does that have to do with that shard thing?" Nora asked the god-duo.
King and Knox were both quiet, as per usual, but it confirmed the suspicion for the audience in its own way.
Sparkling effects began to appear in his yellow eye before he suddenly felt… off. Jaune looked around, not sure what was going on. He jolted when his shoulder bumped into the spear, thinking it somehow started to go loose. But he didn't feel like he was falling. He glanced to the side to notice the spear still in the tree, but he was higher up. Looking down, there was nothing under his feet. "What the heck?" He tried to figure out what was different, but was cut off when someone approached from the brush.
Weiss Schnee cut through the brush, annoyed by her situation. She REFUSED to be stuck with that… that… child! She deserved a better partner than that!
Ruby grumbled a bit.
But she was cut off by Weiss, "You were able to prove me wrong in the weeks after. If nothing else, once you actually applied yourself, you've proven to be a good leader and partner."
Ruby beamed and rushed to her friend, giving her a big hug, which the heiress struggled to free herself from, "Aww! Thanks, Weiss!"
Weiss grumbled as she looked around, hoping to find a better partner.
"Excuse me!" Jaune called down to her.
Causing Weiss to see his state, clearly not impressed.
"Uh… Can you help?"
Weiss felt her eye twitch. Once, she could play it off as a fluke. Like she hadn't actually looked Ruby in the eye and so they weren't partners by technicality. Twice? No chance. That gets way too close to a pattern and the teachers would absolutely call her out on it. She had a choice to make. That dolt that blew her up? Or the bumbling oaf that atrociously tried to hit on her?
She was standing there long enough that Jaune had to glance to the side and back, nervous and still stuck in the tree. "Um… Please?"
"Wow," Blake grinned, enjoying a new way to tease her teammate, "Do you really have to take that long to think about that?"
Weiss just huffed in annoyance, "Say what you will, but you weren't there. Neither of them made good first impressions."
Weiss sighed. At least he hadn't caused an explosion. She used a glyph to grab the spear and pulled it from the tree. When he hit the ground with a groan, she was seriously reconsidering her choice.
"Ow. Ow…" Jaune slowly started to rise back up to his feet, "Thanks."
And it was here, on the ground, she looked him over quickly, her eyes moving along his frame in confusion. "You're… that guy from the locker rooms, right?"
"Uh… yeah. Why?" Now it was Jaune's turn to blink.
The camera pulled away to show Weiss and Jaune standing next to each other, face to face. Weiss was standing at 5'3" in her heels. Jaune, meanwhile, was the one a bit off. He was taller than her, sure. Based on her guess, he was likely around six foot tall.
…
NOT SEVEN FOOT FOUR!
"Woah!" Nora was watching on with an amazed expression, "That's so crazy! Talk about a growth spurt!"
"No kidding." Coco had to remove her sunglasses to look over the scene properly, "That's taller than Yatsuhashi."
Jaune stammered a bit, "W-what the…? What's going on?"
"That's my question here!"
"Excuse me?" They both turned to see Pyrrha standing there, seeming a little disappointed, but also a little relieved. "Can I have my spear back?"
"HEY!" Ruby suddenly burst through the treeline, panting slightly. "W-wait up!"
Weiss felt her eye twitch. She had to weigh her options again. While she would have liked nothing more than to be partnered with Pyrrha, two people could speak up against it. Again, Weiss can escape one on a technicality, but not both. But in the end, her choice was made before she could make it herself.
Jaune handed the spear back to Pyrrha, who was now awestruck at the sudden change in height, "Here you go. Thanks for saving back there. I must have looked like an idiot."
Pyrrha smiled as she took the spear, "No, it's fine. You were surprised and no one can be steady all the time."
"I still stand by the point that you coming to Beacon with NO aura or training was a poor choice." Weiss scoffed. "You could have died!"
Jaune shrunk a bit in his seat. He knew Pyrrha was about to say something. He turned to her, confirmed this, and shook his head. Weiss was right in a lot of ways. It was reckless beyond reason, and he was lucky he didn't end up getting seriously hurt, or worse. Looking back, it was a dumb idea. But, he wouldn't do anything differently. Okay, maybe the hitting on Weiss bit. Looking back, he came across more than a little annoying.
Jaune nervously chuckled. Yeah, he was nowhere on anyone's level here. His less than graceful landing proved that. "So… I guess this makes us partners, right?"
"What?" This confused Pyrrha for a moment.
Even Weiss was confused. How could he… Her eyes went wide as she noticed his left eye was now bright yellow. A light glow emanated from his iris before it all faded out and his eye was blue again.
Pyrrha hadn't noticed this, however, still a little stunned by the sudden height shift. "I thought you two were partners." She pointed between Jaune and Weiss.
"No." Jaune didn't seem to understand why she thought that. "They're partners." He pointed between Ruby and Weiss. "They saw each other first."
Weiss recoiled, "How would…"
Nora, gasped. "He's psychic! He can see the future!"
"But that already happened." Ren pointed.
"Well, duh. The teachers were obviously watching us, so she couldn't have gotten away with that anyway. They'd still end up partners whether she wanted to or not." Nora explained, as if it was obvious in her own Nora way.
But… no one could refute her.
Ozpin just took a sip from his mug. She's not wrong.
Ruby just ran up to Jaune, "Thank you!" She exclaimed exasperated, "She just left me back there. Also, why are you so tall now? Is it your Semblance?"
"My what?" Jaune asked, confused.
"You know, your Semblance."
"Please tell me you know what a Semblance is." Weiss was starting to feel like she dodged a bullet by her plan failing.
Then, they all noticed it. His eye turned yellow for a moment as he seemed to think. After a moment, his eye returned to normal and he replied, "It's a power linked to each person's soul. A kind of representation of who they are and manifesting in physical form."
"Wait, how did he do that?" Now Nora was confused. "Can he read minds too?!" Until she thought up an answer.
"Wouldn't be the weirdest combo." Qrow mentioned. "There's plenty of crazy Semblances out there. Like Telekinesis and using that to create a localized storm. Somehow."
Glynda rolled her eyes.
After the moment of quiet, Jaune nervously attempted to ask, "Right?"
"That's… not inaccurate." Weiss was more confused now. "I was starting to think you were completely hopeless. At least you know that much. But maybe you should turn back to normal. I'm sure this can be useful, but it would be easier to move through the forest without being so tall.
Ruby turned to Coco, "Did Yatsuhashi have trouble?"
Coco waved it off, however, "Nah. He's got this way about him when he's moving through forests. It's old buildings that give him trouble since he has to duck more often and make sure he's respectful. Worse comes to worse, he can barrel through a branch, but not someone's door frame."
"That's fair."
Jaune just blinked, seemingly confused. He looked over himself before trying to focus on returning to his normal height. The camera hung on his eye again as it turned yellow again. He seemed to slowly return to his normal height of 6'1". Once he was back to normal, his eye returned to normal again.
"So, the yellow eye is important." Yang observed. "Probably something to do with that shard thing."
Jaune smiled seeing he was back to normal. "There we go."
"Alright!" Ruby cheered, "Let's get moving north!"
The camera moved upward to show the sun move further along the sky. Once it returned, they were walking up to the ruins with the chess pieces. And, for good measure, Yang and Blake were already there. The duo had already selected the knight piece before the others approached. Yang and Ruby started to talk to each other over everything that happened as Weiss and Pyrrha moved to collect pieces. Jaune, meanwhile, was looking over the treeline. His eye turned yellow again as he seemed to be searching for something. Something felt off.
"Well, duh!" Nora cheered out, "Ren and I aren't there yet!"
Even as a ginger haired girl riding an Ursa broke the trees with a small explosion, followed by her exhausted partner, he kept his eyes up on the trees.
"Oh. Then what's wrong then?" Nora didn't flinch over being wrong.
Off in the distance, the camera showed a figure moving within a tree's canopy. He was dressed in a White Fang uniform and sat himself on a large branch with his sniper rifle held ready. I found you, traitor.
Blake jolted. "Oh."
The camera showed the point of view through the sniper's scope. The reticle hovered close to Blake. The White Fang will not tolerate traitors. Accept judgment.
The room was tense as the sniper adjusted his aim. Ruby watched and could recognize he knew what he was doing. If he got to pull the trigger, he'd likely hit Blake. If it was a sufficient caliber, it might kill her as well.
Before he could pull the trigger, a sudden chill ran up his spine. On instinct, he snapped back, ready to attack whatever was behind him, only to find the canopy of leaves around him. A bit confused, he decided it wasn't worth it and turned back to the task at hand. However, when he looked through the scope, he found himself face to face with the blond guy, his left eye a bright yellow and seeming to be peering directly through the scope into the would-be assassin's eye.
"Freaky." Coco commented, "How weird would that be? Looking through a scope just to feel like you're the one being watched."
Velvet felt a chill run up her spine, "Please don't explain it like that."
The sniper shook his head to clear his head. Only for that chill to come back. This time he chose to ignore it. The camera hung on his head as an ornate barrel appeared behind his skull. The camera snapped back to the main crew with the sound of an explosive shot causing the nearby birds to fly off from the trees.
Weiss let out a sigh of relief that Blake wasn't getting shot, but she was also confused. "Who was that, anyway?"
"Good question." Yang tapped her armrest in thought. "What do you think, Ruby?" When the girl didn't answer, Yang turned to her sister. "Ruby?"
Ruby was wide eyed and leaned forward slightly. Based on the size and snap of the gunshot… "That… that was a .75 caliber."
"Woah, what?" Coco had a moment of shock. Even her minigun was only chambered in 5.56mm rounds, the same rounds you'd find in a standard combat rifle. Any larger, and the mechanisms would be too heavy to carry. Ruby's sniper was .50 caliber. She didn't know anyone close to .75 in size that wasn't a grenade.
Back with the group, Jaune's yellow eye turned blue again as he turned back in time for Pyrrha to walk up next to him with a white rook piece. "What do you think that was?" Pyrrha asked.
Jaune wasn't sure how to answer, "Good question. Maybe one of the other students."
"Considering we heard it from here, that must be a powerful weapon."
"It had a weird ring though." Nora suddenly popped in between them with her rook piece perfectly balanced on her head as she seemed to scrutinize Jaune.
This caught Jaune off guard, causing him to jolt back a moment. He was quick to regain his composure, but not without a small hiccup. His eye was now visibly yellow and Nora was looking directly into it. She got into his face, seemingly peering into his very soul through his yellow eye. He leaned backward to maintain a semblance of personal space, "Uh… Is something on my face?"
Ciel raised an eyebrow, before pointing toward Nora, "A warning. Never do that to me. Understand?"
Penny chose to explain, "Friend-Ciel puts quite a bit of importance in personal space."
Nora gave a thumbs up, "No worries."
"Was your eye always yellow?"
Jaune took a step back so he could stand up straight again, "Not really. It's tied to my Semblance… I think."
"You think? Is it or isn't it?" Nora asked, confused. "It's your eye. You'd think you'd know. Did it do that before?"
"No."
"Did it start when you unlocked your Aura?"
"My…" Jaune blinked as his yellow eye glowed again. His face turned pale slightly before he seemed to become a bit embarrassed. "No."
"So it must be a Semblance! Unless you can put on contacts super, duper fast."
While Nora hadn't noticed it, someone else did. Blake raised an eyebrow, "Do you not have your Aura unlocked?"
"Straight to the point, huh?" Yang egged her partner on.
Blake rolled her eyes.
Weiss suddenly felt much better about her choice. That said, "We saw his Semblance in action. He must have it unlocked. Right?"
Blake shook her head, "It's extremely rare, but it is possible to have your Semblance before your Aura is unlocked. They're usually physical Semblances like enhanced strength, but not always. And if he had his Semblance, it's possible no one thought to unlock his Aura."
Jaune shrugged, "I guess that's what happened."
Pyrrha moved next to her partner, "Well, no reason not to fix that, right?" She motioned for Jaune to approach before placing a hand on his chest. She took a breath as her Aura began to form around her. "For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all. Infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, protect thee." A chant to focus her own soul, to help him to spark his Aura to life.
"So, that wasn't a thing?" Jaune asked, "As in the chant. That wasn't a chant that everyone did?"
"No." Pyrrha shook her head, "Technically, you don't have to say anything. It usually helps to focus your Aura on the person, like a glimpse between the souls to draw out the other. That's just how I feel, so that was the chant I used."
Jaune nodded, content in the knowledge. He wasn't sure if he should look deeper into the words or not. For now, he'd let it go. But if Pyrrha tried to throw herself at something she couldn't handle… he'd be keeping an eye out.
The screen went black in an instant. The bright red fireball appeared again, slowly turning white as words appeared on the screen.
[By Knowledge are we made great. A Soul born by the will of Mankind. Taken by Ruination of Change. Reborn in Grace and Fortitude. Stand, young Knight. My Power is yours and my Sons at your call. By the name Magnus the Red, I shall disappear into your soul. Go now, young man. Become the Hero I could not. Prove this soul has the makings of something more than His puppet.]
The fire fully turned white with tips of red. No sign of any blue to be found. Then, it exploded out and the screen turned white.
"Gah!" Ruby rubbed her eyes at the suddenness of the change in color. "It's like a flashbang."
Blake groaned as she let her eyes readjust. "Even when you see it coming…"
The scene returned to the forest as Jaune opened his eyes again. His yellow eye felt… more permanent. Then there was the new change in perspective. He'd returned to his 7 foot 4 inch height, leaning down so Pyrrha didn't change her position.
Yang let out a whistle, "Guessing that's his Semblance then? Weird seeing him just get taller like that."
Jaune stood up straight again, feeling more comfortable at this height now. He stretched his back a bit as he let his Aura surge over his body. It was an odd feeling. Like he was more aware, safer, and more… significant. Like he'd just been given the keys to a kingdom. "Wow. This feels crazy."
"Don't go thinking you're suddenly invincible." Weiss warned as she walked past him, "Aura can only do so much."
"Best to keep this in mind," Glynda pointed out. Her gaze particularly fell to Jaune, "No matter how much Aura you have, it has limits. You aren't invincible or immortal."
Jaune knew he was pointing that at him, so he nodded. He knew he couldn't do anything. Heck, sometimes he wasn't sure he could do anything helpful other than like an old RPG tank. He knew he'd have to figure out a better way to use his Aura and skills along with being the team leader.
Jaune flexed his fingers before looking over the horizon. He could feel the area around him. Like he could pick out lives and beings around the forest. Two things stood out though. There were two signatures that didn't match the other people around him. He looked toward them, hiding in the treeline. Was that what I felt before? No. They feel different. More… familiar.
Nora hopped around Jaune a bit, "You okay?"
They were all caught off guard with the sound of a horrendous roar. It reminded them that staying still might not be such a good idea.
"That didn't sound like the Deathstalker or the Nevermore." Ruby observed.
Arlsan's eyes narrowed, "A Basilisk. And by the sound, a big one."
Penny looked into the Grimm in question before a question appeared in her mind, "Aren't Basilisks native to the area around Mistral and some areas of Vacuo? There's no indication that they would live around Vale."
"That's the question, isn't it?"
The group all decided it was best to get moving. With relics in hand, they all moved as quickly as they could toward the cliff. They eventually reached a large ruin acting as a bridge between the forest and cliff. They were about to cross when Jaune suddenly jolted around. A massive shadowy creature leapt out from the trees, over them, and slammed itself onto the bridge. Its black, serpent-like body wrapped around the bridge twice before a pair of taloned claws fell onto the ground in front of them. Its mask resembled a bird with scale-like spikes sticking out at the top. It let out a roar toward the group, red spittle falling from its beak. They were able to dodge the strange liquid in time to see it eat away at the ground it fell against.
Arslan's eyes bugged out of her head a moment, "That's a bit bigger than they usually get."
"Must be an old one." May offered, reminding many of them she was there at all.
Jaune and Pyrrha moved forward with shields up as it tried to lash out with one of its clawed arms. The strength behind the swing caused them both to be pushed backward, but they remained on their feet. Nora swapped her hammer to launcher mode and unloaded five grenades to hit the Basilisk, causing it to recoil. Unfortunately, it simply tightened its hold on the bridge to maintain balance and right itself for a counter. A section of its mask began to slide open at the center of its head.
Jaune saw this as his eye glowed again. He was suddenly very concerned. "Get behind me!" Jaune used his power to grow to around nine feet tall and dug into the ground, ripping a section of the ground up to block himself and the others.
The Basilisk's mask ripped apart to reveal a third eye looking down toward them. It was giving off an eerie red light that fell over the scene before it. The ground Jaune ripped up had been turned to stone by the light.
"Oh… that's bad." Yang recoiled.
Arslan tapped her finger on her chair, "Normally, they need to look you in the eyes for a few seconds before it could do that. Easy to spot and avoid. But when it's that large…"
Jaune swung the stone to the side and created a wall between them and the Basilisk. "We need a way to keep it from doing that again."
"We need to get it off guard." Ruby pointed out, "and keep it that way."
"Ooh!" Nora raised her hand, "It's holding itself on the bridge right? What if we just destroy it and make it fall?"
"Then how would we get back to the cliff?" Weiss interjected.
"I'd rather be alive and late," Blake snarked.
"Then that might be the play." Jaune's eye began to glow as he reached out with his senses. What can we do? The camera tracked his focus around the creature and the bridge. Mostly granite. "Nora, how many grenades do you have left?"
"Around 10?" Nora did a quick count as she reloaded. "Six in the cylinder. Four on hand."
"Not enough to bring down the bridge and take that thing with it." The camera tracked back around behind them to the weird signatures still nearby. Hang on… The focus tracked along the figures and found a set of .75 caliber heavy rifles. With explosive rounds. His yellow eye glowed, hoping to find a way to reach them without leaving what little defense they had.
"How can he do that, though?" Velvet thought out loud. "His ability to grow larger or smaller wouldn't really work to do that."
"Maybe getting one of the others to get over to them." Coco considered, "Ruby would be fast enough to get there and back."
"Maybe…"
Jaune grit his teeth. Not knowing about Ruby's speed, he needed to figure something out with what little he knew. Then, it all seemed to click. He turned to the ginger haired girl, "Nora! Get ready to unload on the bridge!"
"You got it!"
"Weiss! Do you have any Ice Dust?"
"Of course I do." Weiss scoffed at the insinuation, "I take it you want me to freeze the bridge?"
"Hit the Grimm and try to keep it from opening its eye again."
Weiss thought for a moment, but ultimately nodded, "Fine." She swung back and temporarily left the cover before firing a set of bolts of ice toward the Basilisk. The ice snapped onto its face and sealed its eye shut for the moment. It tried to use its claws to rip at the ice.
"Nora! FIRE!" Jaune backed away from the stone and turned to the treeline. "Phosis! Thotek! Focus fire around her grenades!"
"Who?" Both Nora's asked, though the one on screen still dumped her cylinder's worth of grenades.
However, for good measure, the camera slowed time as her grenades flew. Soon, they were joined by a series of explosive shells, all blue and gold, clumping around each grenade. All the grenades slammed into the pillars and walkways around the Basilisk with a cluster of explosions. Stone cracked and snapped away as the ruins began to crumble. The Basilisk started to scramble to try to save itself. With its dangerous eye still frozen over, everyone in the group was free onto the creature to keep it from doing so. Ruby noticed a nearby set of pillars and pointed them out to Blake and Yang. At Ruby's lead, Blake used her ribbon to stretch across the pillars and create a makeshift slingshot. Yang used her gauntlets to push herself back in the ribbon before launching herself forward with her fist reared back. She slammed fist first into the creature and knocked it back hard. Using her shotgun impact, she was able to fly backward far enough for Weiss to catch with her glyphs.
"Hell yeah!" Yang leapt up with a cheer, "Eat it you dumb snake bird thing!"
"Aw, boo!" Tyrian complained, "More violence! More death! This is boring!"
"YOU'RE BORING!" Nora shouted.
"I am not!"
"Yes you are! It's always death and blood with you! The same complaints over and over! B-O-R-I-N-G!"
They both were about to start a fight, only to lose all their energy. Where Nora was caught by Pyrrha and Jaune, Tyrian hit the chair in front of him with his chin.
With the present danger gone, Nora swung back around to Jaune, "Who were those two names you called before?"
Jaune looked to the treeline before snapping his fingers and pointing to the area in front of him. A pair of weird cloud-like things flew forward from the trees. It was as if they were vibrating too fast to see clearly. After a moment, they both slowed and revealed themselves. Before them were seven foot tall suits of ornate blue and gold armor with large headdresses. They looked a lot like a certain thing they've seen before.
And Cinder paled. "Oh shit…" She was still traumatized at being shot by one of those things in the sparring arena. She was scared, and so should anyone who's on the other end of one of those things!
Both the suits knelt before Jaune. Jaune, meanwhile, looked back over the cliffside. "Now we just need a way over the ravine."
"A Screamer may be useful." An echoing voice caught everyone off guard, turning to one of the suits. Including the suits. They both jolted as one turned to the speaker. "I…" He seemed surprised to hear his own voice.
"Phosis," Jaune turned to him, seemingly unsurprised, "What's a Screamer?"
"It's… a flight-capable daemon tamed and forced into subservience."
"Dae-mon?" Nora tilted her head, "Like… demons?"
"It's the same thing." Velvet pointed out. "It's how it's said in some old villages."
"No good." Jaune turned back to the cliff. "Daemons can't reach here. Except…" Jaune thought for a moment before looking over the stone. "I have an idea." He placed a hand on the stone, both his eyes glowing their respective colors. With a press of his hand, the stone began to morph around and mix into itself before becoming a solid metal.
This caused Ozpin to nearly choke on his own breath. "W-what on Remnant?"
The camera snapped to the Ozpin on screen as he dropped his mug. He hadn't just seen that, had he? That wasn't a Semblance. Mr. Arc seemed to have a size altering Semblance. So that had to have been…
Back with Jaune the metal twisted around and folded itself into a series of disks. "Hop on everyone." He gave each of them a disk before they were all linked by a blue chain of magic. No one was really sure what to think, but Phosis and Thotek helped to herd them onto the disks before they all took off, led by Jaune on his own disk.
"Magic Jaune!" Nora chuckled to herself, back to normal again.
The screen started to fade out as the voice from the beginning spoke up again, "Well I'll be damned. Maybe he can't fix the Rubric, but he can give them their lives back by amplifying their souls through his own?" The voice chuckled, "Take care, Jaune Arc. Of yourself, your world, and my sons. Good luck."
Like that, Magnus the Red faded away.
"So he can call on those two whenever he wants?" Nora asked.
"Kind of." King answered as the viewing ended. "The specifics don't matter right now, but from what I can tell, he has five of them he can call on, but only two can respond right now. But that's enough for now. How about we take a break and have an intermission next?"
