Disclaimer: I do not own the Harry Potter series. AND CANOVA WAS A RANDOM NAME I THOUGHT OF. I DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS AN ACTUAL RESTURANT, AND IF IT IS I DO NOT OWN IT

A/C: SUMMER MUGGLE AU WITH JILY. Also different PoVs, the first being…

Third Person (Following Lily)

Running through the streets and bumping into people was not how Lily Evans expected her first day of summer to begin, but she was late (in her defense, who had thought it a good idea to force them to wake up at these ungodly hours of the morning?). Petunia would bloody murder her if she messed this up. There was also the fact that her family really needed her to get this job, specifically mom. Especially after…

"LILY!"

A mess of blond curls and limbs tackled her, and began dragging Lily along towards a large building. Pushing her roughly through the door, the blond girl began to speak.

"You have any idea how much I missed you? Jeremy and Faith are torture!" Marlene was as dramatic as always. Lily let out a chuckle at her antics, which made Marlene send a glare her way.

"Marlene, you really ought to be nicer to them. Soon, Jeremy will have to go to college and poor Faith will be lonely. And Faith really is a nice girl."

"Yes, but that doesn't mean they have to snog every other-

"MARLENE! LILY!"

As Lily turned her head towards the interruption, she felt a pair of arms wrap around Lily and her friend.

"Hey, Mary."

Last Lily has seen, Mary had beautiful, waist-length, brown, straight hair, but now…

"You cut your hair!" Marlene's hazel eyes looked enviously at the brunette's shoulder-length hair, which was tucked in a messy braid.

"Yes, I did. Good investigation skills, Sherlock."

Marlene let out a loud, exaggerated gasp.

"Now you're turning into Lily!"

The two rolled their eyes at Marlene, which only caused her to burst into a fit of laughs. That made Mary begin to laugh along with her. Lily looked at her watch, the last thing her father had given her. Soon, memories began rushing back to her. She quickly forced them away.

It was 6:39 am when the brunette and blond had stopped laughing and followed their redhead friend walk through the second door. The trio entered the main waiting area of the restaurant and sat next to some of the other soon-to-be-employees, waiting for the employer.

Mary and Marlene began catching up with each other, while Lily sat lost in thought about everything that had happened this year and what had happened on September 22nd. After waiting a couple minutes, a slim lady who looked to be in her fifties entered.

"Hello everyone." There were murmurings as a response back to her.

"My name is Euphemia Potter, and it is a pleasure to all have you here. I am the owner of Canova. Canova has a couple other locations in the England. It is a restaurant that sells British, Italian, and American food, along with other delicacies. You lot are here to be waiters and waitresses, yeah?"

There was a collective nod, but some people left the room, leaving about 50 of us left.

"Please sign out if you leave! Ok. I see that there are 48 of you left, so each of you will have 3 tables. There are 6 sections, with 8 people needed in each. Got it?"

They nodded.

"Good. Now, you will have a partner to work with, so if something goes wrong, you switch. I will pair you up, but first, I must take into account those who have left. I suggest that you get to know the people here. You will be working with them, after all."

With that, Euphemia Potter took the sheet those who left signed, and left the 48 of us alone.
