The Hunger Games are almost over! I hope that you enjoy this chapter!
Day 8
Emalynn Coria, 13, D5 Female
Everyone was gone. Jollin, Raylie, Briar. I was the only person out of our alliance that survived yesterday. The boy from 2 hunted and killed them all. Now I needed to kill him. In the morning, I had received bread and water, so I had plenty of food in my system. I hoped that nobody had given the boy any food, but with the amount of kills he had gotten throughout this, it was likely that he had a sponsor.
I was heading towards where I knew Jollin had made his camp. We had walked out together, and he stopped at this huge building. As camps went, it wasn't great because of its size, but Jollin was confident he could stop anyone that tried to attack him with his power. Obviously that didn't happen. He probably got snuck up on.
I had a feeling that the boy from 2 had stayed there overnight. I was almost there when I heard branches crunching up ahead of me. As far as I knew, there weren't any animals left in the arena, so the only thing it could be was the boy from 2.
All of a sudden, every single plant around me went flying, leaving a giant clearing. The boy from 2 stood there, smiling. His tan wetsuit was burnt in places. It made me happy that Raylie had at least done some damage to him. I summoned the water and put my knife in it.
"What a fancy trick," he said. "Were you planning on staying back there and letting your water do all the fighting?"
Instead of answering, I just stuck my chin into the air and readied myself for the battle. One of us was going to live, and I needed to do everything I could to make sure it was me.
Ajax Romero, 18, D2 Male
The girl from 5 stood in front of me, looking smug. If she thought that she could beat me in a one on one battle, she was wrong. I had been training for this, and she hadn't. She might have gotten three days to learn stuff, but I had years.
I drew my dagger, deciding I wouldn't use my vine for this. She was just standing there, so I rushed her, hoping to catch her slightly off guard. But the second I started moving, she waved her hands, making the water come rushing at me. I dodged it, but the knife managed to nick my shoulder. The girl smiled, obviously proud she had managed to hurt me, even though it barely harmed me. I turned around, assuming that the water would be rushing at me again, and I was correct. This time, I stood my ground, and when the water was close enough, I hit the knife out of it. It went flying and the water stopped where it was, melting into the ground. I turned around to the girl pulling another knife out, this time taking careful aim, and throwing it at me. I quickly moved out of the way, the knife whizzing by me, embedding itself in a tree at the edge of the clearing.
I ran at her, my dagger in front of her. She tried to jump out of the way, but I tackled her, bring her to the ground. She tried to squirm out from under me, but there was no point. I was at least a foot taller than her and way heavier. I took out my dagger and stabbed her in the heart.
"I'm sorry," I whispered.
"You… did… what you… had to… do," she gasped out. "I just wish I could've won. See my family again."
"I know," I said. I hated that I felt sad. I was about to become the Victor! I sat next to her until she stopped breathing and the light left her eyes. I shut them.
BOOM!
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I GIVE YOU THE VICTOR OF THE 100th HUNGER GAMES, AJAX ROMERO!" a voice boomed. I forced myself to smile. I had just won, which is what I came here to do. I was lifted into a hovercraft and forced into a bed. The Capitol workers told me to lay down and close my eyes. I did so, trying to make myself be happy about winning, but I couldn't get the girl's face out of my head. When I got back to the Capitol, I would make sure to ask what her name was. That was all I could think about. She deserved it.
It was so hard to write this chapter. I didn't want to kill anyone off. But I did. Thank MonkeyPower435 for sponsoring Emalynn!
2nd: Emalynn Coria - Emalynn was amazing. From the moment I recieved her, I knew that I wanted her to go far in these Games. She was an all around great character. But sadly, I just didn't see her surviving a fight against Ajax. Thanks MonkeyPower435 For her!
1st: Ajax Romero - Ajax was a great tribute. He was a Career, but he was somewhat nice. Again, I knew that he would go far when I received him. Thank you Greywolf44 for him!
So only one more chapter in this, I think. After this, I'm going to start another story, the 101st Hunger Games. Make sure to submit tributes for it! Check out my profile for the form and the tributes available!
