Reid was in his hotel room anxiously pacing, not even looking at the case files on his bed.

"I should probably just check on her.' Reid thought and ever since Elle came back to the BAU, he couldn't stop thinking about her, most certainly now given the case that they're working on.

Reid leaves his room and goes next door, to check on her.

Elle is in her room pacing trying to glance over at the case files on her bed but everytime she does, she gets a PTSD flash of getting shot so she just looks away from her bed completely.

There was a knock on Elle's door and gladly opened it to find Reid in the doorway.

"Hey, I thought you were looking over the files for this case." Elle explains and Reid could see she wasn't okay.

"I was but I wanted to check on you and see how you are, with working on this case." Reid says, his face showing worry.

"I'm fine, really. The case isn't so bad." Elle says showing a brave face even though Reid sees right through it.

"Elle, you got shot in your own house and you're really going to tell me your fine?" Reid asks proving to her she can't fool him.

Elle just steps aside and motions him to come in, giving up the 'I'm okay' facade.

"Did you want to talk about it?" Reid asks and Elle just sighs as she sits down at the table in her room.

"It's just, after he shot me, I felt I felt his hand in my wound so he could write on my wall. How does someone get through that?" Elle asks clearly anxious.

"That's the thing, no one does. Then again the question isn't 'how do I get through that' it's 'am I strong enough to not let it control me?" Reid says inspiringly.

"I don't think I am. It's just all I think about and then this case, these poor women actually getting sexually assaulted in their own homes. I mean who's lucky Reid, these women or me?" Elle ask him in near tears walking over and curling up close to the headboard of the bed.

"After we catch the monster who's doing and we will catch him, both you and these women will be lucky." Reid says but before Elle could say anything, he continues his speech as sits across from her.

"But right now you're the lucky one, your assailant is dead Elle. And you may think I'm speaking for the whole team but I'm speaking for you and me, no one's ever going to hurt you like that again. I won't let anyone ever hurt you like that again." Reid says as he grabs her hand emphasizing both ever and I.

Elle looks at him with a slight smile on her face, happy by these words.

"I want to hear you say it." Reid says so she does, for him.

"No one's ever going to hurt me like that again." Elle says and Reid looks at her in order to hear her say it again.

"No one is ever going to hurt me like that again." Elle repeats sounding more confident.

"Nothing and no one will ever get close, just keep repeating that to yourself everyday and never stop knowing that I'll always be there for you." Reid says reassuringly as he uses his other hand the grab the hand of hers he's already holding creating even more of a smile on her face as she understandingly nods at him causing him to smile as well.

"So, how about we take a break from the case and see what's on TV?" Reid asks, closing and cleaning up the files on her bed so he can sit next to her.

"Alright, can I pick?" Elle asks as she holds out her hand for the remote.

"Oh, absolutely." Reid says and hands her the remote after he sits next her.

Elle takes the remote from him so she can turn on the television and they spend the rest of their evening surfing the channels.
