Well, here we go with Chapter 7 and Lincoln will soon start changing a few things here and now. But these will be the only things he changes on purpose; he will explain why later. Also, thanks to my co-author Fox Boss for his ideas :)
(Six months later)
With this stamp, a whole year had passed since Lincoln fell into the world of One Piece and began training with Garp. He soon got better at flying, and he was doing better in training, both physical and in six powers. While Lynn was proud of how strong he was getting, alongside Ronnie Anne, the other were a bit worried that Lincoln might have a hard time fitting in with that strength. Lincoln told them only time would tell.
As for his family, not much had changed. They had all gone up a year in school, though Leni had graduated and right now was waiting for an acceptance letter to LIM College in New York. Luna's band was getting even better, writing songs for kids and adults. Luan had gotten even bigger as a comedian, even getting a job at Dairyland. Lynn was still doing what she loved with sports, just now higher up in grade. Lucy, Lana and Lola all moved up a grade as well and Lily was starting kindergarten.
As for Lisa, while she went up to 2nd grade, she also studied on the side trying to find a way to get Lincoln home sooner as well as find a cure for devil fruits. She wouldn't say which ones she found, but in the background of the basement Lincoln saw books on weather events, specifically tornados and books on construction. She also made sure to stock up on strawberries and melons, to be sure the fruit would always reincarnate there.
Rita and Lynn Sr. were glad they were still able to talk to Lincoln, but they were still worried about him being there, especially with Garp's training methods. Even Pop Pop had to question Garp's methods and he himself was a navy man...as well as the only one that didn't faint when he, Myrtle and Lenord first saw Garp training Lincoln. The Casagrandes were a bit worried about Lincoln as well, but still tried to move on with their lives while they waited for him to return, though Rosa and Carlos did still try and look for ways to help.
Carlota was able to get a job working for a fashion designer named Mariella Moss, which somehow led to a typical Loud/Casagrande adventure involving Leni, Carl and Sergio. Speaking of Carl, him, Ronnie Anne and CJ had all moved up a grade and Carlitos was starting preschool soon. Not much else had changed apart from Bobby moving out and into another apartment in the building.
There was also a whole fiasco involving a Royal Woods, being turned into a lake, but thanks to Lincoln's advice they were able to save the town, though no one, apart from Lincoln's family, his friends and the Casagrandes knew. The excuse was that the break in was so traumatizing for Lincoln, he had to be sent to a special institution to help with his treatment.
Also, the Loud Sisters did send Lincoln new One Piece Mangas whenever one came out to help Lincoln prepare as much as he could for the journey, but the instant they were sent to the portal, all the pages in the manga became blank, unless the event had already passed. As such some of the books that were sent to Lincoln were completely blank. All he had to go on were the covers, since for some reason they didn't fade, some made him nervous, alongside Garp given the people who were on the cover.
The Loud Sister did try and give Lincoln tips on what was coming, but every time they tried...
(Flashback)
"Okay Lincoln, so after the Samurai finally set..." Lori began before a pebble was thrown at her head and she said, "OW!"
"No spoilers!" shouted the voice as everyone turned and saw Luffy with an angry look on his face.
"C'mon Luffy!" said Lori desperately, "I just want to prepare Lincoln in case-"
"I believe in him!" said Luffy causing everyone to stop, "Even if he doesn't know the whole story coming, that means he will at least get somewhat surprised, and he'll be able to plan around it!"
"Oh, c'mon Luffy that is has to be..." Luan was about to pun when a pebble was thrown at her too.
"I love your puns Luan, but not when they hint at what's to come!" said Luffy sternly.
'Why did the crew think he was an idiot again?' Everyone thought.
(Flashback End)
There was some debate between Luffy and the sisters, but Luffy would only allow Lincoln to have knowledge that was shown in the books since he wanted Lincoln to have some surprise in their adventure and he didn't know if he could count on Lisa's inventions being scattered over this world to be enough of a change.
Speaking of changes, Lincoln knew the year was approaching when he could change at least three things and regrettably only those three things. Garp had already set sail and, per Lincoln's instructions, was going to prevent two tragedies that would occur that year. Lincoln would handle the third on his own as best he could. Right now, he was packing up in his backpack.
"So, you're really taking off?" asked Ace as Luffy looked sad.
"If I am to save the mother of our navigator, yes," said Lincoln.
"You'll be okay though, right?" asked Luffy.
"I'll try," said Lincoln.
"Try?" asked Ace.
"Yeah, all I can do is hope that the guy who kills our navigator's mom currently cares about money in that situation," said Lincoln.
"Don't die!" said Luffy started to tear up.
Lincoln hugs Luffy and said, "I can't promise I won't die, but I guarantee that if I do, I'll go down fighting!"
Luffy looked unsure as Lincoln let him go. Lincoln then started walking and took one last look back at Luffy and Ace. He then looked to the sky and turned into his eagle-human hybrid form and took off into the sky, as Luffy and Ace waved goodbye.
Lincoln soared above the forest and looked down at everything below. He flew over Luffy's hometown as Makino and the mayor looked up as they saw Lincoln fly towards the docks. The mayor looked on with a sad face, while Makino and a melancholy smile.
"Well, looks it's time to he helps the navigator," said Makino sadly.
"Let's just hope he succeeds," said the mayor, "And Garp does his part as well."
Lincoln landed at the docks, ducked behind a warehouse and quickly changed back to normal. He looked around to make sure he wasn't being watched then reached into his backpack and pulled out a briefcase. He opened it and inside was a whole bunch of berris.
"Thanks for the briefcase, Lisa," said Lincoln to himself, "And for letting me keep the backpack for a bit."
(Flashback)
"You want to keep the backpack?" asked Lisa.
"Only until I help Nami and her mom," said Lincoln.
"Lincoln, you know what changing the past can do," said Lisa, "Even if this is a world based off a comic book."
"I know," said Lincoln sadly, "Which is why I will only make sure her mom lives, plus Luffy wants me to try and mix things up as much as possible."
"But still why do you need the backpack?" asked Lisa.
"To stash the briefcase full of berris in it," said Lincoln.
"Berries?" asked Lisa.
"Yeah," said Lincoln, "That's what they call money here."
"Oh, but why?" asked Lisa, "What is your plan?"
"Well..." Lincoln started.
(Flashback end)
Lincoln stuffed the briefcase into his backpack and walked up to the ticket booth and said, "One ticket to Commi island please."
"Sure kid," said the ticket guy.
The man gave Lincoln his ticket, told him which dock to go to, and Lincoln walked off. As Lincoln left another man walked up the ticket booth and said, "One ticket for Commi islands."
(On the ship)
Lincoln was sitting on one of the benches, relaxing as the ship set sail. He had hoped he had given Garp enough info to help the people he recommended and felt he could only help at this point without causing too much trouble.
'Okay,' thought Lincoln to himself, 'Grandpa Garp is doing his part, now I have to do mine.'
Lincoln was relaxing when he heard some say, "Excuse me, may I sit here as well?"
Lincoln looked up and saw an old man. The old man had a large, thick unibrow that jutted to the sides of his face, a ponytail over a tuft of gray, white hair, a beard framing his jawline and a scar on his left temple. He was also wearing a green kimono decorated with purple flower patterns and sandals.
"Sure, take a seat sir," said Lincoln.
The old man raised his eyebrow but shrugged and took a seat next to Lincoln, then asked, "So, why are you going to the Commi islands?"
"For tangerines," said Lincoln plainly.
"Tangerines?" asked the old man.
"Yep," said Lincoln, "Cocoyashi village on the Commi islands are supposed to have some of the best."
"Must be delicious then," said the old man.
"That's what I've heard," said Lincoln, "So, sir what's your name?"
The old man raised his eyebrow and then said, "Kozaburo."
"Nice to meet you, Kozaburo," said Lincoln shaking his hand, "My name is Lincoln."
Kozaburo just smiles and returns the shake, "Likewise, kid."
"So, what made you decide to go to the Commi islands?" asked Lincoln.
"Just a favor to my granddaughter," said Kozaburo.
"Does she like tangerines as well?" asked Lincoln.
Kozaburo was about to answer when the ships alarm went up and the transponder snail said, "Attention everyone. Please remain calm! We regrettably have to turn around, pirates have been seen the area, so sadly this trip has been cancelled."
Kozaburo heard everyone groan and turned back to Lincoln and noticed that Lincoln was gone. He looked around for Lincoln and couldn't find him, though he looked up in the sky and noticed a bald eagle with a backpack flying away from the ship.
Kozaburo smirked and said, "Looks like you're helping someone else, just like when you helped my granddaughter."
(Out at sea)
Lincoln was flying across the water looking for the pirate ship. He wasn't really worried about being seen since bald eagles could see three to four times better than a human, so Lincoln could see this ship if it was 10 miles away.
He spotted the pirate ship about three miles away from him and soared a mile closer before keeping his distance. He checked out the jolly roger and, whether or not he considered this luck or not, it was the Arlong pirates. Though to his horror, he saw it had already docked on the Commi islands!
"NO! NO!" shouted Lincoln as he picked up speed as best as he could.
He eventually made it to the Commi islands and started panicking. He dived down and looked to see the townspeople running somewhere and all heading for the same smokestack.
"Dang it!" shouted Lincoln in frustration as he turned into his hybrid form and flew as fast as could, "Please don't let me be too late!"
(Tangerine grove)
Lincoln landed in one of the tangerine's groves, quickly pulled the briefcase from the backpack, and then ran up as fast as he could after passing the mob. He looked ahead and saw a bunch of fishman standing in front of a house and staring at two people.
The first was an average-sized, dark-haired man with a thick mustache and his face had a stern expression. His outfit was a brown, short-sleeved policeman-esque uniform with sandals and on his cap was pin-wheel.
The second was a slim woman with long fuchsia hair tied in a ponytail, grey eyes, and a rather unique hairstyle that looked like a mohawk. She wore a green checkered shirt with the word "MACE" on it, indigo trousers and brown sandals.
'Genzo! Bellemere!' Lincoln thought to himself, 'Please tell me I'm not too late!'
As he got closer and saw Bellemere standing up, holding her arm with Genzo right next to her. Genzo had his eyes shadowed as Bellemere stood before several fishmen, though only four stood out to Lincoln and he knew exactly who they were.
First there was a smelt-whiting fish-man who was muscular, blue skinned, and had thick lips. he had the crew's jolly roger tattooed on his right shoulder and was wearing a necklace, a striped, blue vest, dark-brown leather pants, and sandals. This was Chew one of the officers of the crew.
The next fish-man was ray fish-man that had the appearance of a martial artist. He had a dark blue Gi and a black belt and his hair was tied into a straight ponytail. He also had a tattoo on the right side of his chest, but it was different from the crew's jolly roger, in fact it looked like a sun. This was Kuroobi, another one of the officers.
The next fish-man, and arguably Lincoln's second favorite, was an octopus fish-man with six arms, two legs and an octopus-like face. He had a muscular build and suction cups on his six arms and a tattoo shaped like the sun, like Kuroobi, only his was on his forehead. He had pink skin; grey hair styled into five spikes and was wearing a diamond-checkered outfit. This was Hatchan, though everyone back home, including Lincoln, liked to call him Hachi, he was the last officer.
The last fish-man made Lincoln's skin boil in anger at the sight before him. Before him was a large, muscular, light blue saw-shark fish-man with saw-shaped nose, thin, fierce light-blue eyes and a long, angular jaw. He had long, black hair reaching down to his shoulders and with a widow's peak haircut, also on his head was a dark grey hat. He had a fin on his nape, surrounded by his hair, and his gills were located on both sides of his neck. He had a sun tattoo on the left side of his chest, while the crew's jolly roger was on his left forearm. His clothes were a long, light green scarf hanging from his shoulders, a dark green coat, a pair of beige Bermuda shorts with a chain-like pattern on them and a green sash around his waist. This was Arlong, the Captain of the pirate crew.
Lincoln watched and when Bellemere looked like he was about to say something, Lincoln came walking out with his backpack and briefcase and said, "Bellemere, what is going on?!"
Bellemere, Genzo and the Arlong's crew turn to see Lincoln walking towards them and continued, "I come here to buy tangerines from you, and I find pirates and the town raided? What is happening?"
Bellemere looked confused but decided to play along, "I'm sorry," said Bellemere, "I didn't know you were coming today."
"And who are you?" asked Arlong.
"My name is Lincoln Loud," Lincoln said introducing himself, "I've come to buy tangerines from Bellemere's orchard. And if you don't mind my asking, why is one of the great Fisher Tiger's crewmates doing all the way out in the East Blue."
"You know Fisher Tiger and that we were on his crew?" asked Hachi in surprise, "How could you know that?!
Lincoln then taps his forehead while looking at Hachi then taps the left side of his chest while looking at Arlong causing both Hachi and Arlong to look where his pointing and sees their tattoos causing Hachi to nod in understanding.
"But why call him great?" asked Arlong suspiciously.
"What else would you call someone who dared to climb the Red Line, invade the holy land of Mary Geoise and free all the slaves there, no matter their species?" asked Lincoln.
The other fishman did nod in understanding and some were even smiling at that, including Hachi, though Arlong and his other officers still looked at Lincoln with suspicion as he asked, "So, what are you guys doing here?"
"Isn't it obvious?" asked Arlong now smiling, "I'm taking over this town and making everyone pay a fine for their lives."
"And protection?" asked Lincoln.
"Protection?" asked Arlong back in confusion.
"Well yeah there are still pirates and bandits in the East blue," said Lincoln, "What happens when some invade your town? Just watch as they kill your only means to make money?"
That gave Arlong pause as Lincoln continued, "What's more shouldn't you also station guards at the ports to make sure the only boats coming and going from this place are the cargo so the locals can still pay to live?"
The actually got the Arlong pirates talking amongst themselves until Arlong composed himself and said, "I'll sort out what you said after I settle what Bellemere owes me, now what is the 100,000 berries for?"
Bellemere was about to say something when Lincoln said, "Well it's obviously for her daughter's if she only has that much."
"Kid, what are you doing?" shouted Genzo.
"What are you worried about Mr..." Lincoln asked pretending not to know.
"Genzo and why did you revel that?!" asked Genzo angrily.
"Because I've come to pay for the tangerines in Bellemere's groove," said Lincoln holding up the briefcase, "Is 11,000,000 not enough?"
"11,000,000?!" shouted everyone even the mob that showed up.
"Yeah, that is enough, right?" asked Lincoln.
"Yeah that-" Bellemere then paused and asked, "Wait, you're giving me all of it?"
"Well that actually depends," said Lincoln before turning to Arlong, "What exactly is the entrance and exit fee here?"
"Entrance and exit fee?" asked Arlong.
"Yeah, what is your fee for customer's that come to the island and pay for the tangerines themselves?" asked Lincoln.
Arlong was left confused for a moment then said, "Hachi, watch the boy while I discuss things with the crew."
"Okay captain," said Hachi.
"And Bellemere, why don't you get me the barrels for the tangerines?" asked Lincoln.
Bellemere looked like she wanted to say more but Genzo just nodded in her direction, Bellemere sighed and walked off as Lincoln went to sit at a table on Bellemere's porch. Hachi and Genzo joined him, and they sat there in awkward silence.
"So, what was it like to be sailing with Fisher tiger?" asked Lincoln.
"It was one of the greatest experiences of my life," said Hachi, "Big Brother Tiger was one of the greatest ever."
"Even though he was pirate?" asked Genzo.
Hachi looked like he was about to say something when Lincoln stepped in, "You are aware he only became a pirate because he did what we all wanted to do, right?"
"And what was that?" asked a voice causing Lincoln, Genzo and Hachi to turn and see two little girls standing near the table now.
The first girl had orange hair, brown eyes and a dark and light greens sundress. The second girl had light blue hair and eyes, she wore a blue shirt, turquoise overalls and a red headband with yellow hoping lines on it. These two were Nojiko and Nami, Bellemere's adopted daughters.
"NAMI?! NOJIKO?!" shouted Genzo in shock as did the watching crowd.
"Do you mind, chew?" asked Chew.
Everyone quieted down as Genzo said more quietly, "What are doing out here? We told you to hide!"
Nami and Nojiko were about to say something when Lincoln interrupted, "What are you worried about, Genzo? They are already paid for, aren't they?"
"That's beside the point!" said Genzo, "They should be hiding, not out here!"
"Would it make you feel better if I asked them to go help their mother with the barrels?" asked Lincoln, "She might be struggling since she got shot in the arm."
"She what?!" shouted Nojiko as she ran off to find her mother.
Nami was about to follow but stopped and said, "You never answered my question."
"Oh, Fisher Tiger climbed the Red line all the way to the top and not only invaded Mary Geoise, the home of the Celestial Dragons, and not only raided it but freed every slave there, no matter what species they were."
Nami seemed to gain a neutral look before Lincoln reminded, "Uh Nami...Bellemere."
Nami went wide-eyed and fled to follow after Nojiko, leaving Lincoln alone with Genzo and Hachi again and said, "So Genzo tell me I'm wrong."
Genzo chose to remain quiet at because even he had to admit, he too would have loved to get back at the Dragons for everything they did to this world. Hachi just tapped his fingers awkwardly, not sure what to say.
The three continued to converse for a while until Arlong approached them and said, "Okay we've decided. Since you're just a kid who entered here, we'll be charging you 25,000 berris to enter and the same amount to exit."
"That's reasonable," said Lincoln as opened his briefcase, reveling a bunch of berris.
Everyone watched as he counted the berris, pulled out a wad and asked, "Well, here's 25,000 berris, do you want the other half now or wait till I leave?"
"We'll take it now, human," said Kuroobi.
Lincoln just shrugged and gave him the rest. Bellemere then came back with a barrel with the help of Nami and Nojiko. Lincoln looked at them, seeing them struggle and just sighed sadly.
"How about you just tell me where the other barrels are, and I'll get them?" suggested Lincoln.
"Yeah, that's probably for the best," said Bellemere holding her injured arm.
"Oh, and here," said Lincoln giving Bellemere the briefcase, "It's sadly only 10,950,000 berris now."
"That is more than enough," said Bellemere, "The barrels are around back."
"Thank you," said Lincoln as he picked the barrel easily to everyone's shock, turned to the crowds and said, "Later."
Lincoln walked away and as soon as he was around the bend he heard, "Hey, what's this? A Map?"
He turned and saw Hachi pick up a folded piece of paper and given Bellemere's reaction and her checking her pockets, Lincoln knew exactly what it was and before he could say anything he heard Nami shout, "That's my map! I drew it! You can't have it!"
Lincoln stood in front of her and said, "Nami! Shut up!"
This got Arlong's attention, took the map and asked, "A child drew this?"
"Give it back!" Nami shouted as Lincoln covered her mouth as Bellemere and Nojiko tried to get in front but Lincoln held out his other hand to hold them back
"Very good," said Arlong as he looked at Nami, "She could be useful bring her with us."
"I won't let you take her away!" shouted Bellemere who tried to run forward.
"Bellemere, no!" shouted Lincoln as he let go of Nami.
"Kuro," said Arlong as Kuroobi rushed forward and headed for Bellemere raising his sword and preparing to strike.
"BELLEMERE!" everyone cried.
Bellemere looked up in horror but then something shoved out of the way and a cry of pain followed. Bellemere turned and her, Nami, Nojiko, Genzo and the other villagers looked on in horror as Lincoln held his eye in pain as blood dripped from it.
"You shouldn't have gotten in the way," said Kuroobi.
"Why you-" Genzo started as he held up his sword, but Lincoln shouted, "Stop!"
Everyone froze and looked at Lincoln as he stood up, still holding his eye, as he turned and looked at everyone and, "No one here is strong enough to spot them, please I don't want anyone to die!"
Lincoln turned and looked at Arlong and said, "I know I can't stop you from taking her but let me come with you so we can talk things out."
Arlong was quiet for a moment, looked at the mob and then at Lincoln and said, "Very well."
Lincoln sighed and held out his hand towards Nami and said, "C'mon let's go."
Nami looked uncertain as Nojiko held her, Lincoln walked up, held up out his hand again and said, "I promise I will be with you every step of the way."
Nami looked Lincoln over, especially at his injured eye, then took his hand, much to the shock of her family and villagers. Lincoln then led her towards the fishmen, and they walked away.
"Nami!" shouted Nojiko as Bellemere tried to go forward, but Lincoln turned back to look at her, only this time without covering his eye.
"Bellemere! Please!" said Lincoln, his eye closed as blood went down the side of his face, tears even starting to form, "I don't want you to die! Just stay here and finish the order! Please! I promise I will be with your daughter and look after her!"
Tears started to form in Bellemere's eyes as even Nami looked at her said, "Please, I don't want anyone to die!"
Bellemere fell to her knees and started to cry as Nojiko held her close and Genzo looked on in anger as Lincoln and Nami left with Fishmen, towards the Arlong pirates' new base.
(Arlong pirate's base)
Lincoln and Nami sat waiting in a room, while the rest of the fishman pirates were outside conversing. Nami was in tears and was now clinging to Lincoln who just held her close. Lincoln had his wound treated and bandages were now wrapped around his head.
"What's going to happen?" asked Nami.
"I don't know what will become of me, but they probably will want you to become their cartographer given they took an interest in what you drew," said Lincoln.
"I won't do it!" said Nami angrily and tearing up.
"Which is probably why they are conversing," said Lincoln, "They might be trying to think of a way to convince you."
Nami just teared up and clung to Lincoln and asked, "Why are they doing this?"
Lincoln just sadly looked down at her and said, "Because of what humans did to them."
Nami looked up in confusion as Lincoln continued, "Despite the fact fishman island and the Ryugu Kingdom have been recognized as a member of the World Government, did you really think that would stop the racism that was given to fishmen and merfolk?"
Nami just looked uncertain as Lincoln asked, "You have no idea what I'm talking about do you?"
Nami shook her head and Lincoln said, "Let me put it this way, what they just put you through, humans have already done to them, sometimes with or without the money demand."
Nami looked wide-eyed and gasped as Lincoln finished, "This is just there way of getting revenge, especially after what happened to Fisher Tiger."
"What happened?" asked Nami.
Lincoln looked at her sadly and said, "There was a battle with the marines, he got seriously injured and the only blood donor was a racist human. You can probably guess what happened."
"He...wouldn't give it?" asked Nami.
"Correct," said Lincoln, though he hated lying to Nami, she wasn't part of the crew yet and couldn't tell the truth.
Nami looked down sadly at this, when the Arlong, Kuroobi and Chew walked in as did another Fishman, Lincoln didn't recognize this one, but figured it was a background character, but he guessed his job seeing a tattoo kit with him.
"Congratulations Nami, you are now part of the Arlong Pirates," said Arlong with an evil look, "But now to finish your inauguration."
Nami looked scared and clung close to Lincoln. While Lincoln was scared as well, he kept a brave face for Nami as the fishman came forward and started preparing her tattoo. The process was painful for Nami, who squeezed Lincoln's hand. It would have been painful but given Garp's training it didn't hurt as much. After it was done, Nami was crying, and Lincoln held her close in a hug and looked angrily at Arlong.
"Come," he said.
Lincoln held Nami's hand as they walked out of the room. They were led to another room where they saw Arlong sit in a chair. Nami wouldn't even look at Arlong and just stared at the ground while Lincoln looked at him.
"No one is coming," said Arlong, "All the marine ships in this area have been taken care of by my crew. Nothing can save your island. If you want more proof, look out that window."
Nami and Lincoln looked out the window and saw marine ships fighting for their lives but eventually the ship got sunk. Nami gasped in horror as did Lincoln, it was one thing to read and watch young Nami saying Arlong sunk five marine ships, it was another to see it entirely.
Nami gripped Lincoln's hand harder but Arlong continued, "However, I am willing to offer you a deal."
Nami's grip lessened as Lincoln asked, even though he already knew the answer, "What kind of deal?"
"I will allow you to buy back your village but in exchange you must work as my cartographer until you do," said Arlong.
Nami was quiet for a moment then asked, "How much?"
"100,000,000 berris," said Arlong.
Lincoln faked a look of shock as Nami looked quiet then said, "I'll do it."
"Very good," said Arlong standing up, "This way."
Arlong walked off as Lincoln followed him until Kuroobi put a hand in front of him and asked, "And where do you think you're going?"
"I promised her mother I would be with her every step of the way," said Lincoln, "Plus do you really think the villagers finished that whole orchard already?"
"So, you're staying by her side until they finish your order?" asked Arlong looking unconvinced.
"Yes," said Lincoln, "Is that a problem?"
"I would say it is, chew!" said Chew.
"After you leave you could rat us out!" said Kuroobi.
"Are you saying you doubt Arlong?" asked Lincoln.
"What did you say?" asked Chew and Kuroobi angrily.
Arlong turned with a look of anger at Lincoln who quickly said, "You guys sunk five navy ships in front of myself and Nami, so even if I leave and tell on you guys, what makes you think they can do anything? Are you forgetting this is the East Blue? Are you saying all that sinkings were flukes and you guys lucked out?!"
Kuroobi then slapped Lincoln and he fell to the ground, causing Nami to gasp in shock and cry, "No!"
"Hold it!" said Arlong causing them to stop, "Do you really have little faith in me?"
"No, we have faith in you Captain, chew," said Chew.
"Then why did you deny this boy speaking the truth?" asked Arlong.
The two fishmen growled and stopped their assault on Lincoln, who got back up, rubbing his head and asked, "So, am I allowed to stay?"
"Until they finish packing, you are allowed to stay," said Arlong before turning to Chew, "Chew, go check on their progress and report back when they're done."
"Yes, Captain, chew," said Chew as he walked out.
"You two, come with me," said Arlong.
Arlong led them to a room filled with paper and said, "This will be your room Nami, now get to work."
Lincoln walked into the room as Nami held his hand and Arlong slammed the door. Lincoln led Nami to the table, got her some paper, set it down and as tears formed in his eyes gave Nami her pen.
"Why are you doing this," asked Nami tearing up.
Lincoln was silent for a while then sighed and said in a low voice to Nami, "The only reason I came here was to ensure your mother lived."
Nami went wide-eyed as Lincoln continued, "I know you have a bunch of questions Nami, but I can't answer them now. I know you will eventually seek me out when I leave and if everything went according to plan, I will give you two choices that will help you."
"What kind of choices?" asked Nami.
"I will tell you when you find me again and if everything else went according to plan," said Lincoln.
"What plan?" asked Nami her voice starting to rise before Lincoln covered her mouth.
"Let's just say your mom wasn't the only one I planned to save," said Lincoln removing his hand, "Now how about you show me how you draw a map."
Lincoln helped Nami onto the chair and watched her draw. Lincoln did his best to hide his excitement, watching Nami draw maps. He never thought in all his life he would actually be watching this. Now remembering why Bartolomeo was his favorite of the Grand Fleet commanders.
Hours passed and soon night fell and there was a knock on the door and Chew entered saying, "They're done. You can go now!"
Lincoln sighed and said, "Well Nami, this is where I take off. Maybe, I'll see you tomorrow before I leave."
Nami looked at Lincoln with sad eyes and hugged him, causing him to hug back and say, "No matter what you choose I promise you will be okay."
He let go of Nami and walked out as Chew sneered at him, giving him a shove to further emphasize his point about not wanting Lincoln there. Lincoln then continued his long walk back to Nami's house. He had his head down in sadness, even though he succeeded in what he came her to do, he knew Nami would be hurt a lot long before she found him and would give her the choices.
(Nami's house)
He arrived back at Nami's house and saw Bellemere, Genzo and Nojiko there waiting for him, which a bunch of barrels behind them. Lincoln sighed, seeing Bellemere and Nojiko's tear stained faces then gestured them and Genzo to the house. They went inside, sat down at the table and Lincoln stood in front of them.
"Where is Nami?" said Bellemere softly.
"That fishman didn't tell us anything and said you would explain," said Genzo.
Lincoln sighed and said, "She's alive, but you're not going to like what Arlong is making her do."
"What is it?" asked Nojiko nervously.
Lincoln explained what happened while he and Nami were with Arlong. After he was done, Genzo slammed his fist onto the table as a look of anger formed on his face, Nojiko started tearing up and Bellemere just grabbed her head and teared up.
Lincoln just looked at them keeping his tears and said, "I'm sorry this is all I could do, since I doubt you want to see me, I will go find someplace to sleep and leave in the morning with the order."
Lincoln turned around to leave the house but then heard Nojiko say, "Who are you?"
Lincoln just turned to her and said, "My name is Lincoln Loud."
Lincoln tried to leave again but Nojiko ran forward and grabbed him and said angrily, "That is not what I mean!"
"I know," said Lincoln, "But it's all I can say for now."
"Why?!" Nojiko said tearing up as Bellemere came over as well.
"Because the reason will put you all in even more danger," said Lincoln, "And I won't allow Nami to go through that if I can."
"Will Nami at least come back?" asked Genzo not even looking Lincoln.
"She will be back sometime in the morning, but I don't know if she will lie to you all or not about her situation," said Lincoln.
"Nami," Bellemere groaned as more tears came down her face.
"Can you let go of me now, please?" asked Lincoln sadly.
Nojiko loosened her grip and fell to the ground tearing up at everything that was going on. Bellemere sat down as well and hugged Nojiko, Genzo soon came over and joined the hug as well. Lincoln teared up and walked out of the house.
He went to spot where he hid his backpack. He slipped it back on, turned into his beast form and flew out of the tangerine grove and landed in a nearby tree. He placed his backpack on a sturdy branch then remained in his beast form fell asleep with tears rolling down his eyes. Unaware that someone was watching him.
(The Next Morning)
Lincoln woke up and stretched his wings. Last night still fresh in his mind, he felt sadness. Nami would still be going through a nightmare, he could only hope she sought him out soon and he could give her his offer soon.
He turned back into his human form, grabbed his backpack, and leapt out of the tree. He walked back to see his order was still there waiting for him. He didn't approach the house though figuring no one wanted to see him. He used his only working eagle eye and noticed Genzo and the town doctor were watching him. Making it seem like he didn't notice, he tied the barrels together and began dragging them away from the property.
"Man, that is one strong kid," said the doctor.
"No kidding," said Genzo, "Hope Bellemere's plan works though."
(Woods)
After dragging the barrels as far away as he could and hoping that he was far enough away from the house. He used his Eagle Vision to make sure no one was around. Once he was sure he began grabbing the barrels and stuffing them into his backpack. He was still shocked with how much space Lisa made for this invention.
He soon finished packing and sighed in relief when he heard, "Okay, that is interesting."
Lincoln was shocked! He had been caught! How did he miss someone?! He turned around and saw...no one. Lincoln was confused he could have sworn he heard a voice. He looked around but couldn't find anyone.
Suddenly something hit Lincoln on the head and...left goose egg bump. Lincoln actually gave a small tear, like when Garp did this to him. He looked up and to his surprise, he saw Kozaburo, standing right in front of him with a sheathed sword.
"Kozaburo?!" said Lincoln, "What are you doing here? And how did you get here?!"
"I took a lifeboat," said Kozaburo, "After hearing how good these tangerines are, I had to see for myself."
Lincoln sighs and says, "Given the old people I know, that is either lie, truth or an unholy combination of both."
Kozaburo whacked him again with his sheathed sword and Lincoln got another goose egg as Kozaburo shouted, "Respect your elders brat!"
"Sorry," Lincoln grumbled, "But now I have to ask, did the lifeboat get sunk along with the other boats?"
"Sadly yes," said Kozaburo, "So I'm going to need your help to get off this island."
"Well given you followed me, I guess you know-" Lincoln started before Kozaburo interrupted, "That you're a devil fruit eater that ate a Zoan, yes."
"Well, that makes this easier," said Lincoln and transformed into his man beast form, "Hope on."
Kozaburo got on Lincoln's back, left the forest and took off into the sky. They soared over the island as Lincoln sadly look back as the island got smaller and smaller. As Lincoln turned back Kozaburo looked back and actually saw the town residents wave goodbye with hopeful looks in their eyes.
(Over the sea)
The two flew over the sea for several hours. Lincoln was just admiring the view with what he could see. He really loved the beauty of the One Piece world, but also knew the dangers as well. He knew what was coming and had to prepare.
"Focus kid, we're almost home," said Kozaburo.
"Sorry," said Lincoln as he saw the Dawn Kingdom on the horizon.
Kozaburo then said, "Could you drop me off at the docks where we boarded the ship, I have family waiting for me there."
"Okay," said Lincoln, "And you're sure your family won't be weirded out that you come in flying on the back of Zoan eater bird?"
"First to answer your question on the boat, yes I'm from Wano," said Kozaburo, "So to answer this question, no they won't for two reasons. One, I've told them what I saw in Wano, so they won't be surprised."
"What's the second reason?" asked Lincoln as they got closer to the dock.
Kozaburo points down and says, "I believe they have already seen you in Zoan form."
Lincoln looked down and to his shock, there at the dock...was Kuina and Zoro waiting for him with smug looks on their faces. Lincoln turned and looked at Kozaburo, who looked close to unsheathing his sword, He sighed, and he knew he lost.
Lincoln landed at the docks and changed back to his human form and said, "Alright, you win, but before we go, I have to let my family know I'm back."
Lincoln reached into his backpack and pulled out the watch from before and it was blinking like mad causing Zoro to ask, "I thought you gave that back to your sister."
"She sent me another one so that I could signal them not to contact me unless the watches signal dies or my vitals go," said Lincoln.
"How do they know your vitals are gone in another dimension?" asked Kuina.
"...I'd rather not say," said Lincoln with a shiver.
He hit the button, and a ringing sound was heard after a few rings, a split screen came on and showed three screens, one showed Lori's college room, one showed the Loud House basement and the last one showed the Casagrandes apartment. The families soon crowded around the viewing to see Lincoln and noticed his wound.
For a while all was quiet as they stared until Lincoln, "Okay before you say anything, let's just take things calmly-"
"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR EYE?!" they all shouted.
(The Forest)
After a very disciplined talk, as well as giving Lisa back the backpack, given the job was done as well as introducing the Louds and the Casagrandes to Kozaburo. They all said goodbye and procced to carry the boxes of tangerines all the way back to the bandit camp, though Lincoln made sure to tell Zoro, they were going to the dojo first.
"Well, those were nice people," said Kozaburo.
"Still as loud as I remember," said Zoro.
"That is our last name after all," said Lincoln.
"Fitting," said Kuina giggling.
They kept walking until the saw the bandit house and saw Luffy pacing at the entrance until he saw Lincoln coming and smiled and run up to him and hugged him as he started crying tears of joy.
"You're okay! You're alive!" Luffy cried.
"Yeah and I have good news and I have bad news," said Lincoln.
Luffy stopped and jumped off and asked, "What's the good news?"
"I saved our navigator's mother," said Lincoln.
"That is awesome," said Luffy joyfully, "Is the bad news that the bad guys shot you?"
"No, but will call that side bad news," said Lincoln, "The other bad news is, our First Mate and his girlfriend found me."
"SHE'S/I'M NOT HIS GIRLFRIEND!" they both shouted as Kozaburo laughed.
Luffy looked behind Lincoln and saw Zoro, Kuina and Kozaburo as Lincoln said, "Sorry Captain, I let you down."
"Well things are going to get even more weird," said Luffy.
"What do you mean?" asked Kuina confused.
"Well grandpa came back and well..." Luffy started when just then the door to the bandit house burst open and Garp shouted, "LUFFY! IS LINCOLN BACK YET?!"
Lincoln turned to see Garp and Ace but he was not alone. To Lincoln surprise there was a bunch of people coming out of the bandit house and it wasn't just the bandits. It was a bunch of people Lincoln had not expected to see yet.
The first was an old man with a white and spiky ring of hair, with dark color around the temples, that went around the back of his head and he had a single large tuft of hair near his crown. He had a stitched scar that ram from right above his left eyebrow to the top of his head. He work a blue cape with a royal symbol on it.
The second was a woman with pink hair in a braided ponytail with two pieces hanging down from the sides. She sported a light-colored button up dress with frills at the bottom.
The third was a young girl with the same hair color as the woman and also braided into a ponytail and was wearing a light blue hooded coat.
The fourth was a small toy soldier. Its body resembled a dark-colored uniform with four buttons. It had a block-shaped head, square eyes with two blush marks painted underneath, a rectangular nose, a small angular mustache, and a hinged mouth. It also had lanky limbs and a wind-up key on its back. It wore a large round hat with the letters "SOL" printed on it. It had a small stub where his left leg was supposed to be, and it wore a roller skate on its right foot, and also carried a small toy rifle.
The fifth, six and seventh ones surprised him the most. Two were fishmen guards that were wearing large striped spiral shells as helmets and shoulder pads with their eyes covered by a black mask. The helmets had a spike sticking out in the front and they were carrying tridents.
The seventh one was a human-sized mermaid with short golden blonde hair being partially held up in two loops by an orange headpiece. She also had blue eyes, thick eyelashes, and wore pink lipstick. She was wearing a very long white kimono with a cream-colored carp-scale design along the hem and a sash around her shoulders that floated behind her head.
"Um, Lincoln who are-" Kuina asked before Lincoln said, "King Riku, Princess Scarlett, Princess Rebecca, Prince Kyros and Queen Otohime?!"
"They're royalty?!" asked Kuina while Zoro just looked uninterested, Kozaburo kept a neutral glance, while Luffy and Ace started picking their noses.
"I'll be honest, I was not expecting this so soon," said Lincoln, "Is there anyone else that wants to surprise me?"
Just then three of the barrels started to shake and out of each one came...Nami, Nojiko and Bellemere. Shocking everyone present as even Lincoln went wide-eyed at that.
"I guess that answers your question, Lincoln," said Ace facepalming.
"Yeah," said Lincoln as he turned to Luffy, "Luffy, could you please wait inside the house, while I made the deal with the First Mate it appears our navigator has tried to get spoilers, so please wait inside."
"Okay," said Luffy with a smile as he went inside.
"Navigator?" asked Nami, Nojiko and Bellemere as they and everyone turned to look at Lincoln who just said, "Alright, I wasn't expecting everyone so soon, but let's talk."
Finally Finished! This took so long but I am glad it is done! Hope you guys were surprised at the ending and that everyone likes it and once again thanks Fox Boss for his help, sorry I couldn't use all of your ideas, but I hope you like these ones. Also, I did like this idea you sent me, but I couldn't find a way to fit it in this chapter, so consider this deleted scene an omake
(What kind of Fishman Lincoln would want to be)
"So, Hachi can I ask a fishman question?" asked Lincoln.
"Uh, sure what is it?" asked Hachi.
"Well, you're an octopus fishman right?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes?" asked Hachi confused.
"So, does that mean you get any abilities of the octopus?" asked Lincoln.
"Well, I can squirt ink if that's what you mean," said Hachi.
"Can you do anything else? Like regrow limbs" asked Lincoln.
"Not that I know of, and I don't want to try and find out," said Hachi before asking, "Why do you ask?"
"Well, if I was a fishman, I would say I want be either a Pistol or Mantis shrimp Fishman," said Lincoln.
Hachi tilted in confusion and asked, "Why those guys?"
"Because at regular size they can snap and punch so fast they can make an area as hot as the sun," said Lincoln, "So imagine what a Fishman with their abilities could do."
Hachi went wide eyed at that and said nervsously, "Okay yeah that is a good reason."
