"So..." Peter muttered awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his neck, looking off to the side. "Looks like we got paired together..."

"Yeah...looks like we did..." Cindy said, averting her gaze as she felt the awkward tension growing between them. They were both clinging to the side of the Empire State Building, gazing out at the sprawling New York City skyline in front of them. But, even though they were several feet apart, Cindy could still feel her pheromones subtly working on both of them. "Let's uh...let's have a good patrol."

"Sure, let's get out there." Peter said as he released a light sigh, feeling himself being drawn toward Cindy. "Okay, Parker, complete mental fortitude! Resist those pheromones and keep it in your damn pants!"

"Peter. Cindy. Do you copy?"

"We hear you loud and clear, Natasha..." Peter said, pulling his mask down as Black Widow's voice rang into his ear. "What have you got for us?"

"I've picked up police reports that Vulture is attacking a lab near your position. They've got some pretty valuable tech he might be trying to steal. All the other patrols are currently busy dealing with other threats. So, I need you two to handle this one."

"You think this may have something to do with Kingpin?" Cindy asked as she pulled up her facemask and glanced over at Peter. "He could be trying to steal parts they need."

"I'd be surprised if this wasn't related to Kingpin." Peter said, crossing his arms as his feet still kept him attached to the building. "Fisk is planning something big, so he's probably trying to get every criminal he can onto his payroll."

"That...that sounds like a big problem." Cindy said in an uneasy tone as her brow furrowed slightly, rubbing the back of her head. "How exactly are we supposed to stop him? He could have an army."

"For the record, I've gone up against some seriously insane odds and somehow came out on top." Peter said, watching as Natasha relayed information to the HUD in his mask. "So, I actually like our odds."

"Don't worry, Cindy. I'm pulling some strings to try and get us more support. So, don't count us out just yet."

"Wow, you both sound so confident." Cindy said with a chuckle before she released a light sigh. "I wish I could be confident like that."

"You're still new to this whole hero thing, Cindy. Your confidence will increase as you get more experience. So, don't beat yourself up." Peter said, leaping away from the side of the building and firing off a line of webbing as the pair began to swing toward Vulture's position. "You should have seen me when I first started out. I. Was. Terrible. I'm lucky more people didn't get hurt with how often I screwed up."

"He's right, Cindy. I've some YouTube videos of his early work and...woof. It wasn't good. Trust me, you're doing stellar compared to this goober."

"Okay! Okay! Give me a break!" Peter exclaimed as he springboarded off a water tower to launch himself forward. "When did this turn into a Parker roast session!?"

"I'm sorry, Peter. But, I must concur with Ms. Romanov. I've analyzed footage from the beginning of your career and it was...less than optimal."

"Oh, come on, not you too Karen..." Peter groaned, running his hand down his masked face. "I'm being attacked from every angle here." After performing a rapid loop-de-loop off a street light to gain a boost of speed, Peter looked back at Cindy and noticed that she was managing to keep pace with him fairly well. "Hey, Cindy, could I maybe get a compliment? I feel like I'm getting bullied by these two."

"Oh...uh sure..." Cindy said as she fired several strands of webbing from her fingertips, swinging forward to catch up with Peter. Pausing briefly, she appeared to be thinking of what to say, suddenly Cindy's face flushed slightly. "You're a great teacher, Peter...and an even better friend. I think I can speak for both Miles and myself...we'd be lost if you weren't supporting us."

"..." Peter said nothing for several moments, his mask hiding the massive smile that was on his face. "Thanks, Cindy. That means a lot."

"Seems like you've forgotten that other people besides Peter have been helping you out."

"Oh!" Cindy exclaimed in embarrassment as her face began to burn even brighter red. "I-I'm sorry, Natasha! I didn't...you know I...what I mean to say..."

"Calm down, Cindy. I was just messing with you. Now focus up you two. You're nearing Vulture's location."

"Yeah..." Peter said, an explosion ringing out from down the street as a fireball burst out of the building in front of them. Gunfire and police sirens wailed as Peter and Cindy drew closer to the source of the commotion. "It's kind of hard to miss."

"What's the plan, Peter?" Cindy asked as they both clung to a side of a building just behind a wall of police cars. "Things sound pretty hectic down there."

"We should get a report of the situation." Peter said, scanning the sea of police officers and SWAT as he looked for one person in particular. It didn't take Peter long to find who he was looking for. "There. They'll know what's going on." Leaping off the building, with Cindy following close behind him, Peter swung over the officers on standby and landed on top of a squad car near the front of the pack. Seeing that the person he wanted to speak to was talking on a radio, Peter leaned forward and tapped them on the shoulder. Turning around, the person immediately frowned and sighed when they saw Peter giving an exaggerated salute. "Hey there, Yuri! Spider-Cop reporting for duty, ma'am!"

"Ugh, I get a raging headache every time I see you." Yuri said as she let out a light sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose. "And, if we're gonna do this Spider-Cop schtick, you better start calling me Captain Watanabe." It was then that Yuri finally took notice of Cindy, eyeing her up and down. "You multiplying or something? Who's the new girl?"

"I'm Silk." Cindy said, extending her hand toward Yuri. "It's a pleasure to meet you Captain Watanabe."

"Silk..." Yuri parroted as she reached out and shook Cindy's hand. "Nice name, I like it." Letting go of Cindy's hand, Yuri rested her hands on her hips. "I know damn near every costumed weirdo in this city, so you must be new. So...are you two partners? You've got a similar aesthetic going on."

"Something like that. We've got similar powers actually." Peter said with a chuckle, rubbing the back of his head. "Silk is actually pretty new to all this, so I've been showing her the ropes."

"Oh great, another web swinger, just what I need. I can already hear that loudmouth Jameson shouting about more 'menaces' ruining the city..." Yuri grumbled as she crossed her arms, looking back and forth between Peter and Cindy several times. "Speaking of 'menaces' I've been getting reports about sightings of several other wallcrawlers...you wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"

"I...have no idea what you're talking about...but, if I hear anything I'll let you know right away." Peter mumbled, turning his head away to hide his face, despite wearing a mask. "Quickly changing the subject, we got word that Vulture is causing a mess. We're here to help out."

"Normally, I'd tell you to piss off, then you'd sneak in and help anyway. But, this time I actually could use you...and your friend being here is a nice bonus." Yuri said as she reached into a nearby police car and pulled out a tablet. After tapping away for a few moments, she turned the device toward Peter and Cindy. On the screen were several camera feeds coming from inside the lab. "Vulture hit the lab about fifteen minutes ago."

"What's he trying to do?" Cindy asked, watching Vulture speed past cameras and destroying anything in his path. "It looks like he's just causing wanton destruction."

"We don't know." Yuri said as she let out a light sigh and put the tablet away. "There's a lot of dangerous tech in that lab, but it doesn't seem like he's trying to steal any of it."

"It doesn't matter what his plan is, we need to stop him before he hurts anyone. Yuri, have your officers pull back, we'll handle Vulture." Peter said, leaping off the squad car and firing out a line of webbing. "Let's go, Silk!"

"Right behind you, Spider-Man!" Cindy exclaimed as she quickly followed after Peter. It didn't take the pair long to reach the lab, landing on the roof. Loud crashes and bangs could be heard within the lab as Vulture went on a rampage. "So, what's the plan, Peter?"

"I'll handle Vulture, you focus on helping any civilians left in the lab evacuate. Once all the civilians are safe, come help me." Peter said, a camera feed from the lab projecting on the HUD in his mask. "Okay, looks like he's in the lobby right now. Karen, help Cindy find anybody left in the lab. Getting them to safety is our main priority."

"Of course, Peter. I will assist Ms. Moon in any way I can."

"We'll enter through the vents." Peter said as he pulled the cover off a nearby ventilation unit. Glancing back, Peter saw Cindy clutching a hand over her heart as she took a deep breath. He felt an overwhelming urge to hold her tightly and comfort her. But, he knew that it was the pheromones messing with his mind. Quickly shaking his head, Peter rid his mind of those inappropriate thoughts. "You can do this, Cindy. I'll be in there with you and have your back every step of the way."

"Thanks, Peter. That actually makes me feel a bit better." Cindy said with a smile hidden behind her facemask. Taking one last deep breath, Cindy tightly clenched her fists. "Okay, let's get in there."

Entering the lab's ventilation ducts, Peter and Cindy quickly separated, going off to complete their own objectives. Cindy, guided by Karen, left to help the dozen or so civilians that were still in the building. Peter went to confront and stop Vulture before he could cause any further damage. The sounds of breaking glass and smashing objects grew louder and louder as Peter neared the lab's lobby. Spotting a vent cover that was placed over the lobby, Peter peered through it, getting there just in time to see Vulture speed by beneath him. Wasting no time, Peter popped out the vent cover and dropped down into the lobby.

"Alright, Adrian...why don't you give up before I..." Peter stopped midsentence when he got a good look at the Vulture. The person in front of him was definitely the Vulture, but it wasn't his Vulture. This Vulture's suit looked as if it was assembled out of scrap parts, with a pair of dangerous-looking rotors on his wings keeping him afloat. He also wore a fairly plain-looking, leather bomber jacket and cargo pants, with a helmet that resembled one that a fighter pilot would wear. "Well, looks like you're not my Adrian Tombs, that definitely complicates things. I like the suit though, it's got a real DIY look to it."

"Spider-Man...or, should I say Peter Parker..." Vulture said as he landed on the other side of the lobby, the claws strapped to his boots digging into the floor. "He said that you'd show up."

"Okay, really don't like that you know my secret identity." Peter said, his lenses narrowing slightly as he balled his fists. "And by 'he' I'm assuming you mean Kingpin. What'd he promise you? Money? Power? You really shouldn't trust Kingpin, he's just going to use you."

"I don't fully understand what's going on, but I do know that I was taken from my home against my will. And Kingpin said he'll send me back home to my wife and daughter if I help him. He's also throwing in a generous reward for my troubles." Vulture explained as he reached behind his back and pulled out a device that looked to be a weapon. "Look kid, I have no issue with you. The Peter Parker I know actually saved my daughter, so I owe him. So, I'll give you one chance to leave..." Peter's eyes widened slightly as Vulture powered up the weapon he was holding. "Or else I'll have to hurt you."

"You want to get back home?" Peter said, holding his arms as he slowly walked toward Vulture. "Then help us. Once we stop Kingpin, we'll send you back to your own dimension."

"How can I trust you?" Vulture asked as his grip on his weapon tightened. "You may be Peter Parker...but, you're not the Peter Parker I know."

"I get it. The situation you're in is seriously messed up." Peter said, stopping a few feet away from Vulture, still holding up his arms. "I know it's hard to trust someone you don't really know...Kingpin, however...you definitely can't trust him. He'll toss you away as soon as you're no longer useful to him."

"I...I..." Vulture said as he lowered his weapon slightly, gazing down at the floor. "I just want to see my family again."

"And I'll make sure you get back to them." Peter said, taking a few more hesitant steps closer. "Look, you're different from the Adrian Toomes I know. You seem like a good guy...a family man. It seems to me like you don't really want to be doing this. I know a police captain, Yuri Watanabe, I'll talk to her. We'll work something out and-"

"WAAHH!" Hearing a sudden, terrified scream, Peter whipped around to see a scientist clutching a briefcase as he collapsed to the floor. "It's the maniac who's been rampaging through the lab! Please don't kill me!"

"Calm down! He's not going to-" Peter stopped when his Spider-sense suddenly went off. Spinning back around, his eyes widened when he saw Vulture charging his weapon, taking aim at the scared scientist. With lightning-fast reflexes, Peter fired out a line of webbing that attached to the scientist's chest. With a yank, Peter pulled the scientist toward him, narrowly avoiding the devastating beam of energy that sliced clean through anything it touched. "Holy shit! That thing is not playing around!"

"If Kingpin can bring me here, that means he can also hurt my family. I've got no choice kid." Vulture growled as he aimed at Peter, charging his weapon once again. "Now, hold still."

"We were so close to a breakthrough!" Peter quipped, holding the scientist close as he leaped out of the beam's path. Ducking underneath another attack, Peter quickly fired out a line of webbing and swung toward the lab's entrance. In one quick motion, Peter set the scientist down by the doors and kept swinging. "Get the hell out of here!"

"Thank you, Spider-Man!" The scientist exclaimed as he dashed out of the lab, hugging his briefcase close to his chest.

"It's just you and me now, Adrian." Peter said, sticking to the ceiling above Vulture. "You want to do this the hard way!? Fine by me!"

Kicking off the ceiling, Peter shot toward Vulture at an incredible speed. Activating his wings, Vulture flew out of the way, narrowly avoiding Peter's attack. With a grunt, Peter slammed into the ground, partially caving in the floor. Spider-senses tingling, Peter sprang backward, dodging a swipe from one of Vulture's talons. Spotting a mail cart, Peter grabbed onto it with a line of webbing, spinning it around to gain momentum.

"Package for you, Mr. Toomes!" Peter exclaimed as he hurled the mail cart at Vulture. However, Vulture sliced clean through the cart with his razor-sharp wings, sending out a shower of papers and boxes. Using the rain of mail as cover, Peter catapulted himself toward Vulture. "Hey! You needed to sign for those!"

Cocking his fist back, Peter hit Vulture with a powerful right hook, sending the winged villain soaring back. Re-orientating himself, Vulture growled and angrily shook his head. Vulture's engines roared to life as he shot toward Peter, his weapon charging up. Getting in close, Vulture tried to slash at Peter with the claws on his boots, while also attempting to slice him with beams from his weapon. However, Peter's Spider-sense and incredible reflexes allowed him to swiftly dodge Vulture's attacks.

"Stand still, damn it!" Vulture growled, attempting to hit Peter with an overhead swipe from his claws. When Adrian's attack missed, his foot slammed into the floor, digging his claws into the ground. But, Vulture had put too much strength behind his attack and was unable to pull his foot free. "Son of a bitch!"

"What's wrong, Toomes? Seems like you're struggling a bit?" Peter taunted as he poked his head out from behind Adrian's shoulder, clinging to Vulture's back. With a growl rumbling in his throat, VUlture quickly aimed his weapon at Peter. "Ah, ah! This area is a 'no death beam' zone!" Using his web shooters, Peter yanked the weapon from Vulture's hands and fully encased it in webbing. "There we go. No that, that's-" Peter was cut off when the weapon began to violently shake around and hum with energy. When the web-coated weapon began to pulse with purple energy, Peter's eyes began to widen. "Oh, that can't be good."

"You idiot!" Vulture snapped, watching as a beam of energy randomly fired out, slicing clean through a nearby row of chairs. "You've overloaded the damn thing!"

"Yeah, that's REALLY not good!" Peter exclaimed as he hopped off Vulture's back and attempted to pull his leg free. Grunting with exertion, Peter was surprised when he didn't immediately pull Vulture's claw out. "What the hell, this thing is buried in there! Geez, you really wanted to kill me!"

"Quit yapping and help get me out of here!" Vulture barked, gasping in shock as two beams fired out and cut clean through his wings. "Preferably while I'm still in one piece!"

"Pet...I mean Spider-Man!" Cindy exclaimed as she dashed into the lobby, quickly rushing over to Peter's side. "I'm here to help!"

"Great! Cause I could really use it!" Peter grunted, continuing to try to free Vulture's leg. Letting out an exasperated sigh, Peter pointed toward the malfunctioning weapon. "Web that thing up a bit more to buy us some time, then help me pull this guy free!"

"On it!" Cindy proclaimed as she fired strands of webbing from her fingertip and fully encased Vulture's weapon once again. After she was finished, Cindy ran to Peter's aid and grabbed onto Vulture's leg as well. Grunting in exertion, both Peter and Cindy began to pull, the ground groaning in protest as they began to free Vulture's leg. "S-Spider-Man...I-I'm sorry! I almost let your secret identity slip out!"

"It's fine! He knows I'm Peter Parker!" Peter struggled to say through grit teeth, one of Vulture's claws finally coming free. "Actually...this guy's from a different dimension! So, we need to help him!"

"Well, he's almost AH!" Cindy yelped in surprise as a beam shot right past her head, slicing through the wall behind them. "Okay! On three let's both pull as hard as we can!"

"Let's do it! One! Two! THREE!" Peter yelled, the muscles in his arms straining as both he and Cindy used all their strength to yank Vulture's leg free. Suddenly, Vulture's leg popped free and all three of them fell backward. And it was just in time as a beam of energy sliced through where they had just been standing seconds before. "Let's get the hell out of here!"

Springing onto their feet, Peter picked up Vulture and dashed toward the front doors, with Cindy right behind him. A terrifying humming filled the lobby as Vulture's weapon began to glow brighter and brighter, shaking violently on the ground. Then, just as Peter and Cindy burst out of the lab, the weapon exploded in a brilliant purple fireball. Over a dozen beams of energy fired out randomly, slicing through the lobby and destroying large chunks of the building. With a soft grunt, Peter and Cindy landed on a building across from the lab, setting Vulture down as well.

"Good thing we told the police to pull back." Cindy said as she let out a shaky breath, watching as the lab was partially engulfed in flames. "God...what a mess."

"It could have been a lot worse if we weren't there. A lot of innocent people could have been hurt." Peter said, walking up next to Cindy, not paying attention to how close they were. Feeling the pheromones start to affect him, Peter quickly shook his head and turned to face Vulture. "Okay, Toomes time to start..." Reaching out, Peter pulled off Vulture's helmet. When Peter got a look at Vulture's face, his eyes widened slightly. "Wow...you look just like Michael Keaton."

"I get that a lot..." Vulture said as he let out a light sigh, shrugging off his destroyed wingsuit and sitting on an air vent. "Now, I'm sure you two are wondering what Kingpin had me doing at that lab."

"That would be helpful." Peter said, crossing his arms, as his lenses narrowed slightly. "Start talking."

"Look, you're not gonna like this answer, but I don't know what Kingpin wanted." Adrian said as he stared down at the ground, his brow furrowing slightly. "He just told me to go there and trash the place. He didn't tell me to grab anything or attack anyone. Just...go wild and cause some havoc."

"What the hell?" Cindy grumbled, quirking an eyebrow in confusion as she looked over at Peter. "Why would he do that?"

"Maybe..." Peter muttered as he stroked his chin, his mind racing through possible scenarios. It didn't take Peter long to come up with the only answer that made sense. "Vulture was just a distraction. Kingpin wanted our attention focused elsewhere while someone else stole what he really wanted from that lab."

"God damn it..." Vulture grunted, slamming his fist onto the air duct. "That bastard really was just using me!"

"This isn't good." Cindy said as she turned to look back at the destroyed lab. "Who robbed the lab then...and what were they after?"

"I don't know..." Peter said, pulling off his mask as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "But Kingpin probably just got one step closer to completing his plan. We need to start prepping for the worst." Looking over the roof's edge, Peter looked at the scrambling police officers below them. "Okay, Cindy, you get Vulture back to Avengers Tower. We can keep him there until we beat Kingpin. I'll go talk with Yuri and let her know what happened...and tell her what's really going on."

"Got it." Cindy said as she let Vulture climb onto her back. She felt her entire body heat up as she walked past Peter and stepped onto the roof's edge. "I'll see you back at the tower."

"See you later." Peter said with a wave, watching Cindy step off the roof and fire out a line of webbing as she swung back toward Avengers Tower. Looking back down at the road, Peter sighed when he spotted Yuri coordinating the police efforts. "Ugh, she's not gonna like this."

As Peter lept off the roof, several blocks away, in a dark alley, the scientist he had saved rested against a wall, breathing heavily. Clutching his briefcase tighter against his chest, a wicked smile spread across the scientist's face as he began to cackle. However, the scientist's maniacal laughter was cut short when his phone suddenly began to ring.

"Yes..." The scientist said as he pressed the phone to his ear. "What can I do for you, Kingpin?"

"So, Dmitri...was the plan a success?"

"It sure was." Dmitri said with a smirk, tapping the briefcase. "Those stupid spiders took the bait. That idiot Spider-Man even helped me get out of the building."

"Good. I knew the Chameleon would be perfect for this job. Now, get back here, we've still got work to do."

"On my way..." Dmitri said as took off his glasses, his face completely morphing and changing to an entirely different appearance. "I'll be back in twenty."

"Wait...wait...just give me a moment to process all this." Yuri said, letting out a heavy sigh as she pinched the bridge of her nose. Crouched on top of the wall behind her was Peter, who was nervously wringing his hands together. "Okay...let me see if I'm understanding what you just said. People from different dimensions have randomly been popping up across the city. While Kingpin is trying to build a device that will allow him to pull in villains from across the multi-verse and create an army. Is that right?"

"That...just about sums it up." Peter replied as he nodded his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "Sorry about not telling you sooner, Yuri. I was kind of hoping I could handle this on my own."

"Our little partnership doesn't really work if you keep things like this secret from me." Yuri said, shooting Peter an annoyed look as she crossed her arms. "But, I suppose better late than never. So, what's our next move?"

"The device Kingpin is building gives off a very specific energy signature that's not native to this dimension whenever it's used." Peter explained as he performed a flip off of the police car and landed in front of Yuri. "We've been searching for this signature, but Kingpin must know we could use it to track him. He's been creating dummy signals for us to chase after."

"So, at this point, it's essentially a waiting game. That's frustrating." Yuri grumbled, letting out an annoyed huff as she stroked her chin. "How many people know about this situation?"

"Not many." Peter said as he shrugged his shoulders. "Basically just my team and you right now."

"You have a team now? Great, more headaches for me." Yuri said, rolling her eyes as she rested her hands on her hips. "What about the Avengers? Can they help us?"

"Almost all of them are off on other missions. So, we probably can't count on them for help." Peter admitted sheepishly which caused Yuri to groan in frustration. "But, we're working on getting additional backup."

"Good. Because if what you're saying is true, we're gonna need all the help we can get." Yuri said, walking over to her car and opening the driver's side door. "I don't want to cause a panic, or worse, tip Kingpin off. So, I'll keep this to myself for now. But, I'll start forming a task force to help you out, I need to make sure I find people I can trust. You never know who Fisk has in his pockets. When you figure out where Kingpin is, let me know and I'll mobilize to back you up."

"Thanks, Yuri. I knew that I could count on you..." Peter said as he extended his hand toward Yuri. After staring at it for a few moments, Yuri shook Peter's hand and slid into her car. Before she could drive off, Peter tapped on her window. As she rolled it down, Peter rested his arms on the windowsill and leaned closer. "I really am sorry about not telling you, Yuri. From now on, I'll tell you right away if a crime boss is trying to create a multi-dimensional army."

"You better, Spider-Cop." Yuri said with a small smile before closing her window and driving off.

"Well, that went better than expected." Peter said, letting out a soft exhale through his nostrils as he rested his hands on his hips. Once Yuri's car was out of sight, Peter rolled his shoulders and performed a few light stretches. "Alrighty, I should get back to Avengers Tower, Miguel is gonna want a report on what happened."

(Thirty Minutes Later: Avengers Tower)

"And he's finally arrived." Natasha said when she noticed Peter walking into the conference room, leaning back in her seat. "What took you so long?"

"I had to explain some things to the police captain." Peter replied, taking off his mask. He released a light sigh and sat at the large table. "But, the good news is, when we're ready to go after Kingpin, she should be able to back us up."

"We'll take all the help we can get." Cindy said as she sat on the edge of the table a few feet away from Peter. "Today was a mess."

"You can say that again." Miguel said, walking into the conference room as he tapped away on a tablet. Miles followed a few steps behind Miguel, having been his patrol partner. "You two definitely had a more eventful patrol than us."

"We spent nearly the entire patrol checking out energy signatures Miguel's drones had pinged." Miles grumbled as he crossed his arms and plopped down in a chair. "Although, we did have to stop this weirdo who called himself Big Wheel. He was kind of a pushover though, only managed to wreck a couple of cars before we took him down."

"Ah, you ran into Jackson Weele? Man, it's been a while since he popped up. I thought he had given up on crime." Peter said in an amused tone, leaning forward in his seat. "Did you happen to see the baddie we bagged?"

"I did!" Miles exclaimed as his eyes lit up, slapping his hands onto the table. "I swear, he looks just like Michael Keaton!"

"I know right!? I said the same thing!" Peter laughed with a large smile, turning in his to look at Miguel. "So, did you check him out? Where's he from?"

"Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture...but, you already knew that." Miguel said as he flicked through some information on his tablet. "From Earth-199999...owned a salvage company...has a wife named Doris...daughter Elizabeth...huh...if I'm reading this right...seems like this isn't his first time getting sucked into a different dimension. Very strange."

"No wonder he wanted to get home so badly." Peter said with a frown, his brow furrowing slightly as he sunk a bit deeper into his seat. "We need to stop Kingpin and get everyone back home. The fact that he's forcing people from different dimensions to help him..."

"I know how you feel, Peter." Feeling a hand on his shoulder and hearing a familiar voice caused Peter to perk up. Looking back, he saw Gwen smiling at him. "We heard a bit of what happened from Miguel on our way back from patrol."

"This Kingpin truly is a loathsome man and must be stopped at all costs." Haruka chimed in as she leaned against the conference room's doorway. "That kuso yarō will pay for what he's done."

"Good, the gang's all here." Miguel said, clapping his hands together to get everyone's attention. "Well, we've heard the gist of what happened, Peter. But, why don't you give a more in-depth explanation."

"Sure..." Peter said as he looked at the rest of his team, clasping his hands on top of the table. "We got word from Natasha that Vulture was attacking a lab downtown, so we went to check it out. After speaking with police captain, Yuri Watanabe, Cindy and I entered the lab. Once inside, we split up, she went to rescue any civilians still in the building while I dealt with Vulture."

"Did anything happen while you were handling the civilians, Cindy?" Natasha asked, quirking an eyebrow. "Did you notice anything odd? Or anyone acting suspicious?"

"No, nothing stood out." Cindy replied as she shook her head. "They all seemed pretty panicked and were trying to get out of the building as quickly as possible."

"So, you didn't notice anyone trying to take anything out of the lab?" Miguel muttered, stroking his chin as he paced around the room. "Peter mentioned that Vulture was likely a distraction while someone else stole what they were really after in that lab. One of you must have noticed something."

"Hold on a second..." Peter spoke up as he stood up out of his seat, his eyes widening slightly. "While I was dealing with Vulture, a scientist stumbled into our fight. I helped him get out of the building and I thought nothing of it at the time...but, he was clutching a briefcase as if his life depended on it."

"That's not too strange, but we can't rule it out." Miguel said, snapping his fingers and pointing at Natasha. "Can you pull up security footage from around that area and see if we can find our scientist?"

"Already on it." Karen's voice echoed throughout the room and a few seconds later a projection lit up from the center of the table. Dozens of video feeds filled the projection, with all eyes present on it.

"There! That's him!" Peter exclaimed as he pointed toward a camera feed from the front of the lab. Everyone watched as a scrawny-looking man, who was tightly holding a briefcase against his chest, stumbled out of the lab. "Karen, follow him."

"Where's he going?" Gwen mumbled, watching as the scientist completely avoided the police and seemingly began to walk around aimlessly. After jumping through several different camera feeds, they eventually caught the scientist walking into a dimly lit alley. "Oh boy, a dark alley? I'm not liking this."

"Me too." Haruka added as her eyes narrowed slightly. "Nothing good ever happens in a dark alley."

"Wait..." Miles said, pointing toward one of the screens. "It looks like he's on the phone with someone. Wait...what's he-" Miles stopped mid-sentence as he watched in shock the scientist take off his glasses, his entire face morphing and changing. "What the hell?! That dude's face just completely changed!"

"Chameleon." Peter growled as he slammed his fist onto the table. "Now it makes sense why we didn't notice anything. I shouldn't be surprised that he's working with Kingpin."

"So, they've got a guy who can completely change his appearance at will?" Cindy asked rhetorically, a frown spreading across her face as she unconsciously scooted a little closer to Peter. "I really don't like that."

"Whatever they wanted in that lab, they have it. So, there's nothing we can do about that now." Miguel said as he let out a light sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. "We're playing defense right now, all we can do is react to whatever Kingpin is planning. So, until we catch a break, we're just gonna have to keep that up. We'll do another series of patrols tomorrow. For now, everyone rest up."

"Hey, Peter..." Haruka called out, stopping him before he could leave the conference room. "Can I talk to you real quick."

"Sure thing, Haruka." Peter said as he joined her at the opposite end of the room, everyone else leaving to rest up for the night. "What's up?"

"For our patrols tomorrow, I was wondering if you could make good on your promise..." Haruka said with a faint blush, rubbing her arm in embarrassment as she looked off to the side. "And show me the sights around town."

"I'd love to, Haruka." Peter said with a smile as he rubbed the back of his neck. "It's a date."

"Eep!" Haruka squeaked in surprise at the way Peter had phrased their sightseeing trip. With her face burning even brighter red, Haruka spun on her heels and dashed out of the room. "I'll see you tomorrow!"

"O...kay...that was weird..." Peter said with an awkward wave, before scratching his head as he stared at the doorway Haruka had left through. After standing in the empty conference room for a few moments Peter shrugged and walked out of the room. However, as soon as Peter stepped out of the conference room, he was stopped once again, this time when someone grabbed his hand. But, Peter was caught off guard when his entire body began to heat up. It didn't take him more than a second to realize who had stopped him. "Cindy...what are you doing?"

"I was holding back the entire time we were out on patrol...and it was really, REALLY hard. But...I don't think I can do it any longer..." Cindy said as she panted lightly, clutching a hand over her racing heart. Turning around, Peter saw that Cindy's face was flushed red, just like his own. Reaching back, Cindy began to unzip her costume. "We...can we please just do this already? If I have to wait any longer, I feel like I'm going to explode."

"..." Peter said nothing for several moments, feeling sweat forming on his brow as he watched Cindy pull down her costume a bit. He audibly gulped when she exposed some of her cleavage, feeling the last remnants of his resolve crumble away. "You're room. Now."

And done! I know you're all probably feeling a little blue balled by the cliffhanger and I apologize for that. But, I felt like this was the perfect stopping point. Next chapter we'll have Peter and Cindy's lemon scene, along with his date with Haruka. I may also introduce our next love interest if I can squeeze her in. So, look forward to that! I'll be working on my, My Hero Academia story next, but please be patient and I'll get back to this story in due time. Remember to follow/favorite if you enjoyed, please leave a review (your feedback is appreciated), please consider supporting my P atreon (every little bit helps), check out my profile and other stories if you haven't already, and feel free to PM me ideas you may have for my stories.
