A/N: I hope you enjoy my first LOTR fanfic. It is completely movie based and I hope that other LOTR movie lovers will agree that this was a part we all wished we could have seen.

Lines taken directly from the movie will be italicized.

The Meeting in the Wood

"What's this? A ranger caught off his guard?"

Aragorn froze as he felt the cold edge of a sword touch his neck. The shock of the icy blade had startled him so that he had not clearly heard the words of the speaker.

But he knew the voice.

"Arwen," he whispered her name, not questioningly, for there was not a doubt in his mind but that it was she, but almost unbelievingly.

The blade was withdrawn and a laugh, low and sweet, sounded behind him.

Aragorn leaped to his feet and spun around in one quick, supple motion.

Arwen stood before him, radiant in her beauty, glowing with happiness at the sight of him. Aragorn gave her one long look and then caught her up into his arms.

The laugh which had sprang forth from her lips was abruptly cut off as they were claimed in a long and loving kiss. She put her arms about his neck and he lifted her and swung her around in his joy at her sudden appearance. Darkness and sorrow were closing in on every side, but here was light and love.

When Arwen finally drew back her head she caught Aragorn's face in her hands and looked at him earnestly.

"Aragorn, you are well?"

"I am well, but there is someone who needs your help," Aragorn replied, a worried frown creasing his forehead as he suddenly remembered Frodo.

"There is great danger following you," Arwen said in a low voice.

"I know," he took her hand as he acknowledged her words and began to lead her towards her horse. "The hunted and wounded person is a hobbit named Frodo Baggins. He has been stabbed by a Nazgûl blade," he explained as he helped her into the saddle.

Arwen gave him a compassionate look, worried and hopeful both at once, and then released his hand and urged Asfaloth forward towards the clearing where Frodo lay.

Aragorn hurried along behind her and saw her from a distance as she lightly dismounted and walked towards the prostrate body of Frodo, who lay on the ground, gasping for breath and shaking slightly in his agony.

"Frodo," Arwen called as the little hobbit turned wide, death like eyes upon her. She began to speak to him in elvish, calling to him in the pure, untainted words of her people. "Im Arwen. Telin le thaed. Lasto beth nîn, tolo dan nan galad. (I am Arwen. I have come to help you. Hear my voice. Come back to the light.)"

I love hearing what you guys think! Please let me know how you liked this and if you love Aragorn and Arwen as much as I do. :)
