AN1: Fairy Tail 100 Year quest 109 was released May 31/22 and YES it does show the canon explanation of what Laxus Dragon Lacrima is. My story and explanation were released like over a year before that so obvious I had no idea. Naruto's teacher will not be that Thunder Dragon King so Laxus and his Lightning Dragon Slayer magic will not be connected to that Dragon King. (Although I will point out that God Serena ALSO has a Lightning dragon Lacrima. Just saying.

Yes I know the AN has born reposted but I know people will claim I intentionally changing canon to make Naruto 'special' hence why I will just repost the top one for awhile (so people can see I am explaining a plot point).

Fairy Tail 100 Year quest 115 was released. It showed that God Serena survived and the last three of his Dragon Lacrima-Diamond(stone), Flash(Light), dark (unnamed) along with his established other 5-Lightning (thunder), Cavern (Earth), Purgatory (Fire), Sea King (Water), Gale (wind).

For context in this story God Serena will have refined organ (heart) of the Lightning Dragon King (like Laxus did have in canon) and scales/bones from the other Dragons. Hence his Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic will be in general more effective then Laxus but less than Naruto's (as Serena will have a refined organ rather then just some leftover scales enchanted.) And just because Serena and Kirin (the 5th dragon slayer) have their magic from the "Lightning Dragon King" does not mean that Naruto own (through first generation) Lightning Dragon Slayer magic is inferior (a dragon does not need to be king to be strong after all).

AN1: Like I mentioned in the previous chapter this chapter is the start of part 2 of the Fairy Tail universe. The Tenrou Island arc was making my head bleed with how to plan out the entire arc. Having the timeskip that references the Tenrou Island arc makes way more sense it works out way better for my writing. The beginning is just a FRAGMENT of the fight. The way will be revealed later. Think of this as Naruto experiencing the moments just before he wake up.

Chapter 65 Seven Years Later

The last moments of Naruto vs Acnologia

"Its over Acnologia! For the sake of Fairy Tail! No for the entire world your reign ends now!" Naruto declared bathed in Kurama mode as he put his hands together as blue and red chakra formed into his hands and combined.

…..

"No…! Not now…. My strength…" Naruto grunted as blood leaked out of his mouth and the yellow chakra started to flicker and recede.

"Naruto!" Several voices shouted as Naruto looked up to see a massive ball of magic form inside Acnologia mouth as he glared down on the island.

"Dammit…! I failed…" Naruto whispered as the ball hit the island and all he saw was a white light and massive loud boom.

7 years later aka present time

Naruto opened his eyes even as several tears ran down his face as he blinked to see sunlight. He was currently on Tenrou Island in the middle of the forest. He was lying on his back on top of some rather soft grass.

"I am alive? I feel everyone magic power around me… So, everyone is still alive as well." Naruto mumbled as he slowly got up to a sitting position and quickly wiped away the tears from his eyes with a quick burst of Sky Dragon magic and blinked a few times.

"Naruto! Are there?" Erza's familiar voice rang out as her scent along with the rest of the people who were on Tenrou Island flooded Naruto's enhanced sense of smell.

"Over here!" Naruto yelled back as he heard footsteps coming together and a smile grew on his face when he saw the unharmed members of his guild walk towards him.

"Thank goodness. That means everyone survived Acnologia's attack." Mira noted placing a hand over her heart as Naruto gave her a small but sincere smile.

"Indeed. I am glad everyone is safe too." Naruto replied back warmly.

Everyone nodded before they looked around confused.

"So what happened to us? I remember seeing that Acnologia's attack coming down on the island. We put our hands together in circle and then nothing but a bright light and then we woke up." Gildarts asked as he put a hand underneath his chin in wonder.

"Yeah we wouldn't have even known it wasn't the same day till these guys came over and told us SEVEN years have passed for everyone except us! Look at how old Ichiya is!" Bickslow exclaimed as he pointed to an older Lamia Scale and Ichiya who had come together to pick up the people from Tenrou Island.

Ichiya head dropped in depression as he started to give off 'manly' tears to everyone collective uncomfortableness.

"Man! Why most you make fun of me? My dear Erza! Please comfort me!" Ichiya cried out as he ran and jumped up seemingly to place his face into Erza's armoured chest.

"As if I would comfort you! Stay away from me! How many times do I need to tell you!" Erza screamed as she summoned a frying pan using Requip and slammed it into Ichiya's face sending him flying in the direction of the boats.

"Man!" Ichiya voice cried out as he was sent flying further and further away.

Everyone gave Erza a dry albeit somewhat impressed looked as Erza panted and dismissed her frying pan. Erza crossed her arms and gave off a humph in annoyance.

"If that man kept his hands to himself, I wouldn't need to keep disciplining him." Erza explained closing her eyes as she looked away with a frown.

'I mean she isn't wrong and Ichiya should really need to get it in his head that a woman showing this kind of violence isn't really a scream for romance.' Naruto thought with a smile as he remembered Sakura shortly after his return from his 3-year trip showing similar levels of 'affection' albeit Sakura was one of his best friends when he wasn't annoying her.

"Haha it seems Erza-san is as lively as ever." An older, more mature and taller Sherry noted with a giggle but she notably gave a wave to Lucy showing she held no harsh feelings towards the blonde for their little excursions on Galuna Island. Lucy eagerly waved back with a smile.

'It seems 7 years apart means we can start fresh! I mean even during the fight with the Oracion Seis she was less then nice! How dare she call me little girl when we were the same age! Plus I had like the better figure and she treated me like I was the younger brat!' Lucy fumed before shaking her head mentally while keeping a friendly smile.

"So Gray? How did you return from the dead? From what the world could tell Tenrou Island was gone gone. The island itself was nothing after the events of 7 years ago and all the sudden the island pops put of the ocean seemingly okay. Is there anything you want to tell us?" An older Lyon asked but couldn't help a superior smirk appearing on his face making Gray scowl at his former rival and former student in arms to Ur.

"Like I know what happened Lyon! Haven't you been listening? To us its been less then an hour! So clearly we were knocked out or something so how would we know what happened to us!" Gray snapped indignantly making Lyon chuckle and Juvia squeal with hearts in her eyes.

"So cool my Gray-sama!" Juvia cheered as Gray just nodded absent mindly.

"It must have been Her spell that saved us from Acnologia." Naruto noted with a notable amount of respect when he referred to 'her' making everyone surprised.

"'Her'? Who are you talking about Naruto?" Lucy asked in surprise as Naruto gave her a quick glance but shared a look with Makarov.

'Ah Master Mavis… It would be best from Lamia Scale was not here. They wouldn't be able to see her anyways.' Makarov thought in recognition as he subtly gave Naruto a nod.

Makarov turned to Lyon and Sherry with a kind grandfatherly smile as he gave them a small bow of thanks much to the Lamia Scale's surprise.

"You have my thanks for coming out today to greet my children on their return. Make sure to give my regards to Jura for me." Makarov told them kindly as Lyon nodded.

"Of course, Master Makarov. It was no trouble and I would be happy to give your regards to Jura as well. He will be pleased to hear on your and Fairy Tail's return." Lyon told him with a smile and a nod of respect for the Wizard Saint.

"Now if you could please wait at the boat for just a few minutes. There are certain things I need to discuss with my guild privately. We shall be along in just a short while." Makarov told the duo in a kind but notable dismissive tone as Lyon nodded but Sherry frowned.

"Hey wait a minute. We came all way and now you need some privacy? That doesn't sound…" Sherry commented as she put her hands on her hips which caused her notably large chest to bounce slightly.

Several guys including Elfman and even Gray notably blushed at the long pinked haired busty woman breasts much to certain women like Evergreen and Juvia announcement. Even Gajeel seemed to be affected abit with a slight blush but Levy just sighed and face palmed at his actions. Naruto notably seemed to not notice Sherry much as he kept looking upwards as if waiting for something.

"Look girly. Usually members of other guilds not being part of Fairy Tail would not even be allowed on Tenrou Island. This is our sacred island so please respectfully wait by the boat so Master can talk to us in private." Gildarts told Sherry with a sharp and impatient tone as he crossed his arms with a frown.

Sherry shivered slightly as Gildarts being Fairy Tail's 'Ace' was well known and his battle prowess was legendary event to Lamia Scale. Lyon nodded as he gently pulled Sherry away.

"Make sure you remember to give my regards to Sherria when you return to Lamia Scale! Next time I see her I wanna see what kind of woman she has become! 7 years means she should be quite the woman now!" Naruto yelled as Sherry and Lyon smirked even as they walked away.

Wendy notably gave an odd look at Naruto at his declaration who smirked in return.

Meanwhile the rest of the guild was more interested in Gildarts stern exterior and his notably lack of lust towards Sherry who was now quite the beautiful woman.

"Wow this is pretty weird. I heard Gildarts-san was quite the womanizer but he seemed rather responsible just now. What do you think Cana? He seemed almost like father-like huh?" Lucy whispered to Cana who looked just as surprised as Lucy was.

"Yeah… That is certainly different. I didn't know he had that in him." Cana admitted quietly as she seemed to look at Gildarts with newfound respect while Gildarts had his back to the two women.

Unseen to them Gildarts was looking stern but inside he was mentally jumping with joy.

'That should show my dear Cana-chan I can be the daddy she wants and needs! I missed so much of her life so now I have to be the responsible adult to make it up to her!' Gildarts thought smugly with a happy mental grin and eyes shining with fatherly pride.

'Wait maybe not Daddy… That sounds abit wrong with Cana's age… I would be happy if she called my Father or even Papa!' Gildarts amended in his mind as he could imagine a smiling Cana.

'Could I just call you... Tou-Chan instead of Gildarts?' Cana would ask him sweetly and nervously in his ideal world which he would hug her and cuddle her forehead.

'Yes, my dear Cana! You can call me whatever you want and I will always be there for you!' Gidlarts would declare and father and daughter would be together forever in his mind.

Meanwhile after the surprise at Gildarts surprisingly mature attitude the guild turned back to Makarov who nodded to Naruto. Naruto took a moment as he seemed to focus for a moment before nodding.

"Now Naruto can you explain what you meant by 'Her magic'? It seems to me you and Master have an idea on what is happening here and who caused it?" Erza decided to ask Naruto politely but with a notably curious sparkle in her eyes.

Makarov looked ready to speak but Naruto shook his head and put a hand out.

"It's alright. I think its time." Naruto said kindly as Makarov nodded his head.

"The spell that saved us was one of Fairy Tail's legendary 'Three Great Fairy Spells' the spell called Fairy Sphere! It was a spell developed by Master Mavis before her death and a spell of ultimate protection!" Naruto declared proudly making everyone grasp at the new information.

'I am surprised he wasn't sarcastic when he said 'death'. I know he knows that Master Mavis is still among us. Perhaps he wants Master Mavis to tell that story herself?' Makarov mused even as everyone started to gossip to each other.

"We were saved by Master Mavis's spell?" Freed asked in shock.

"The Three Great Fairy Spell? You mean a spell at the same Caliber as Master's Fairy Law?" Levy noted with a notable shine and excited expression at learning more about three most powerful spells of Fairy Tail's history.

Lucy and Natsu turned Cana who looked at her arm.

"Or the Fairy Glitter that Cana used?" Lucy suggested but Cana shook her head as she looked longingly at her arm. AN2:

"You're wrong Lucy. I don't have Fairy Glitter anymore. It was only temporary gifted to me from Master Mavis's grave. It was linked to the tattoo you saw before. That Magic and tattoo is gone now so I can't use that magic." Cana explained with a sigh but then she smiled.

"Besides that incomplete Fairy Glitter I used is nothing compared to the strength of Master's refined Fairy Law in power despite the spells themselves being in the same class system. Master is still on a different level to us." Cana clarified making everyone take a moment to gather that in.

Mira nodded but decided to ask the most important question.

"Okay then Fairy Sphere according to Naruto-kun is some sort of protection spell right?" Mira asked as Naruto nodded.

"That's right. It's the ultimate defensive spell that can protect someone from any danger even Acnologia's Dragon Breath failed to breach its defenses." Naruto remarked with a notable hint of pride.

'I can understand Gramps knowing about the spell since he knows Fairy Law and possibly its some sort of 'Master only' spell but how does Naruto know about it? It's probably better to not bring up I know Fairy Law but I have definitely never heard of Fairy Sphere before.' Laxus thought deciding that he was 'pushing' his luck just being on Tenrou Island despite still being banished.

"Who activated the spell? I know we didn't have time to activate any sort of Enchantment or Rune magic before Acnologia attack hit the island and yet somehow, we made it through." Mira added as she put a hand on her hip and a hand under her chin with a thinking pose.

Everyone started to talk and make suggestions.

"Is that spell some sort of spell that activates if Tenrou Island is put into danger?" Lisanna suggested.

"Or maybe it was like Fairy Glitter that is sealed and is activated if the person needs it?" Cana added her two cents.

"Hmm those do sound possible but I still think its more likely someone activated it personally when we were in danger rather then remote or automatically activation." Lucy commented as she had a thinking expression on.

"Why don't we ask Naruto or Master? They seem to be only ones who know how the spell works." Carla pointed out as everyone turned to Naruto and Makarov.

Naruto continued to look up as if waiting for something while Makarov took a deep breath.

"…. I guess it can't be helped at this point. You see Fairy Sphere was cast by…" Makarov started as everyone leaned in to hear his words.

"She's here." Naruto commented with a smile as he stopped looking up and gave Makarov a nod who blinked.

"Hehe…. It seems this generation of Fairy Tail is rather spirited huh? Isn't that right 3rd master Makarov?" A feminine tone giggled as everyone looked around trying to find the voice.

"Show yourself! You are on Fairy Tail's sacred island! If you do not answer us then I will have no choice but to consider you an enemy of Fairy Tail!" Erza demanded as she seemed ready to grab a sword from her Requip dimension.

It seemed that it was not just Erza who looked ready to fight if needed. Even Laxus had a frown as he clenched his fist while the three Dragon Slayers kept trying to find a scent before they gasped and pointed upwards.

"She is up there Erza!" Natsu yelled as everyone looked up to see a young-looking woman sitting on a branch high up kicking her feet. AN3:

The young woman had notably long wavy yellow blonde hair that reached down all the way to her feet. She also had two bangs framing her face and a single puff of hair on her forehead that reached to her eyebrows. She had big green eyes with fair peach skin and notably no shoes as she kicked her feet playfully on the branch. She looked only a few years physically older then Wendy but her face despite its cheerful expression showed a maturity as if she lived for a very long time. She had a petite figure and wore a pink dress that reached down to below her knees. The dress had a pink bow that tied up around her neck, and frilly sleeves that ended halfway up her arms showing her bare hands and wrists. The pink dress had light blue and dark pink designs around her middle. She completed the outfit with something like white earmuffs above her eyes that had wing like designs.

"Who is that? I have never seen someone like her before." Lucy asked in wonderment even as the young woman just hummed and kicked her feet cheerfully.

The more hot-headed members of Fairy Tail like Natsu, Elfman and Gray still looked at the newcoming with distrust while Erza, Laxus, Gildarts and Mira instead looked more contemplative seemingly showing the maturity difference between non S-class and S-class wizards.

"Wait! She is not an enemy of Fairy Tail. Actually, she is the complete opposite of an enemy!" Naruto yelled as he turned around so his back was to the new coming and his stern expression was to the guild.

"Naruto-kun? Who is that woman?" Lisanna asked looking at Naruto and the woman with open curiosity.

The blonde woman giggled as she leapt off the tree and slowly hovered to the ground showing an ability to float. She eventually got the ground as she stood next to Naruto with a smile while he didn't seem to be worried at all and kept his gaze at the guild.

"Forgive me young ones. I suppose I have not introduced myself and that is on me. It's just its been awhile since I have seen new people so I forgot my manners." The blonde woman stated with a sheepish smile as she closed her eyes and rubbed her head in embarrassment.

As the guild looked at the woman with confused expressions Makarov was mentally face palming as she was not projecting the imagine expected for a former master of Fairy Tail.

'I suppose her honest personality is still quite the step up from far Hades has fallen. What exactly caused Master Precht to fall so low to disrespect this place of all places?' Makarov thought with a sigh.

"Sorry again! Okay my name is Mavis Vermillion or better known as the First Master of Fairy Tail. It is a pleasure to meet you all Fairy Tail." Mavis stated cheerfully as she gave a bright smile with her green eyes sparkling as she waved at the members of Fairy Tail.

"Master Mavis?!" The guild all shouted except Naruto and Makarov with Naruto just smiling pleasantly at her.

"Shouldn't you be like dead?!" Natsu asked bashfully only to get a head bop from and irate Erza and Lucy.

"Don't be so rude Natsu!" Lucy shouted at him as he rubbed his head as Erza's punch made a comical bump to form.

"Hehe its alright. It is quite the fair question." Mavis commented as she gave a friendly smile and wave.

"Mavis-sama… If you are here then what is in that grave I saw?" Cana asked in astonishment as she looked at her arm by instinct and rubbed it almost as if she had phantom pain from the lack of the tattoo for Fairy Glitter.

Gildarts gave Cana a concerned look while made Mavis's smile grew wider.

"Oh, that grave. Its empty. That grave is just symbolic as I was born here and as a symbol of respect for me being the First Master and one of the Co-founders of the guild itself." Mavis stated fairly drily but her eyes seemed to have a look of longing and remembrance.

"Then the magic power I sensed was…" Cana noted with wide eyes as Mavis nodded in approval.

"It was my magic. I felt your conviction and your heart so I granted you temporally usage of my spell. Fairy Glitter however I must admit even with my magic guiding you to its usage it was impressive you were capable of using Fairy Glitter to such a level on your first try. It takes massive amounts of magic power and concentration. It speaks volume of your potential to be able to use an incomplete version at your level Cana." Mavis noted with notable pride and an impressed look. AN4:

Cana for once did not seem to know how to respond and even had a small blush of embarrassment at the praised from the First Master especially on her usage of Fairy Glitter. Gildarts had a fatherly look of pride as he tried to cuddle Cana like she was a little girl and not a mature young woman.

"Stay away Gildarts! It is so weird for you to act like that especially in public!" Cana shouted as she ran away from Gildarts attempts to grab her into his arms.

"I need to make up for loss time Cana-chan! Please go to your Father!" Gildarts whined as he continued to ty to chase after Cana.

The guild gave them dry looks but Mavis looked rather amused if not abit touched at the display.

"Um Mavis-sama… Can I ask? Is that really you? I mean you would have to be at least as old as Hades and he is older than Master Makarov to be one of the founders of Fairy Tail… But you look so young…" Levy asked nervously as if afraid of offending the first Master o Fairy Tail.

Makarov looked ready to speak on Mavis's behalf but Mavis put her hand up to silence him.

"Its alright Third Master. I don't mind. Think of me as the 'Soul' of Mavis Vermillion but if you want to be technical, I am a Thought Projection that can interact with the world. However, I cannot be perceived or heard by anyone who does not have the Fairy Tail guild mark aka someone not a member of Fairy Tail." Mavis explained as everyone looked at the Guild Mark which appeared to shine for a moment before returning to their normal state.

"So, she is a ghost?"

"This is so weird."

"If that is her soul where is her body then?"

Several people whispered in not so quiet tones as Mavis seemed to deflate at the questions. Makarov looked ready to scold his children but everyone turned when they heard a loud whistle.

Naruto leapt up so he was standing next to Mavis with an annoyed expression.

"Listen up! I am not going to sit back and let you talk about Master Mavis like that! Master Mavis is standing here and that is all that matters! Anyone who is going to treat her as a thing instead of a person can deal with me! You will show her respect or we will have words!" Naruto stated protectively as a spark of Lightning Dragon magic flowed and sparked in his eyes showing his determination to protect the pride of the Mavis.

Makarov nodded in approval as the guild looked at each other and then sighed with guilt.

"Forgive us Master Mavis. We did not mean to offend you. We are honoured to meet you Mavis-sama." Erza apologized on behalf of the guild with a bow. Soon everyone besides Naruto and Makarov bowed to the First Master.

Mavis smile returned as she waved at them with a giggle and wink.

"Oh, I didn't take offense. I am happy to meet you all as well. I hope we can all become good friends Fairy Tail!" Mavis chirped.

After a moment she turned to Naruto who looked at her intently as they seemed to look into each other's eyes.

"Hello Mavis-chan. It has been awhile huh?" Naruto greeted with a soft smile.

"It's been over SEVEN Years Naruto! That is 7 years too long! You don't know how much I missed you!" Mavis squealed as she looked ready to burst into tears making Naruto rub his head in embarrassment. Mavis seemed to be in between a pout and having her smile ready to burst out of her face.

"Mavis-chan?!"

"You know each other?! How?!" Everyone shouted with wide eyes with even Makarov seeming shocked at how close Naruto and Mavis were.

"… 7 years huh… Yeah it's been longer than that huh…?" Naruto whispered as he looked away with a sad expression which was missed by everyone.

"…" Wendy seemed to be not looking at Naruto while everyone was gaping at how close Mavis and Naruto were. Her eyes seemed to darken for just a moment before turning sad.

'….. Sensei….' Wendy thought as she seemed to have a sad expression which faded into a surprised look after a moment.

"Excuse me! Can you please tell me how you know Master Mavis when none of us have seen her before today?" Lucy shouted not noticing her rude tone.

Only Wendy, Naruto and Makarov seemed to notice as the latter two sighed and Wendy pouted cutely.

"Lucy-san… Please remember this is still the First Master of Fairy Tail. We should treat her respectfully no matter how surprised we are." Wendy reminded her gently looking up at the taller blonde.

Lucy rubbed her head as she blushed in embarrassment.

"Sorry! I mean please forgive my tone Master Mavis. I was just surprised and abit too excited." Lucy admitted with a much more polite tone. Lucy even gave a curtesy showing her manners were rather refined.

Mavis giggled into her hand before she gave a wave while Naruto looked thoughtful.

"I suppose that is a fair question. Sorry for not telling you guys before today. The reason I know Mavis-chan is because I grew up on Tenrou Island with her before I came to Fairy Tail 7 years ago." Naruto revealed as he looked completely serious.

"Nani?! You grew up here?!" Gajeel shouted as he shared an utterly shocked expression with the rest of the guild besides Makarov who looked unaffected.

"Master?... Uh Master Makarov…. Did you know about this?" Erza asked nervously realizing that both Mavis and Makarov deserved the title of 'Master' being part of Fairy Tail's guild history.

Erza turned to the Makarov who coughed looking at Naruto and Mavis as if asking for mental permission. They looked at each other and nodded giving a silent yes.

"Naruto told me briefly about their history when he first came to Fairy Tail. I will admit I had trouble accepting it as truth to start with. Tenrou Island after all is nearly impossible to invade or visit with the spells around it. I suppose Master Mavis must have invited him and the island has accepted Naruto as a permanent resident." Makarov admitted as he rubbed his head in embarrassment.

Mavis grinned along with Naruto as Naruto pressed his closed fist against his chest.

"I arrived from my home world onto Tenrou Island because Mavis invited me here from this world. It was because of her that I had a place to call home the instant I arrived in this world. Tenrou Island is also my home along with Magnolia Town!" Naruto declared only appearing to break for a moment when she referred to his old world.

"Naruto…. I am sorry… I didn't mean to bring up those memories up. I am glad you got to spend time here when you came to Earthland. It must have been nice." Lucy stated softly as Naruto looked ready to lift up her chin only for him to use the back of his palm to stroke his own cheek.

"Thank you, Lucy. It means a lot to me. I spent a lot of the 7 years I lived in Earthland before I came to Fairy Tail here. I would leave on occasion but I always came back here as my home." Naruto stated warmly as he glanced over at Mavis who was shifting on her feet with her swaying slightly seemingly nervous.

"Our home…" Mavis mumbled before a deep blush appeared when she realized what she said out loud.

"Did I say that out loud?!" Mavis shouted before she put her hands above her lips after realizing she was now shouting.

"Sorry! I am being really bashful right now! I haven't talked to anyone recently… Naruto was the last person I actively talked to and that was over 7 years ago…. I haven't gotten a lot of chances to build up my social skills again." Mavis admitted sadly.

Everyone in the guild looked ready to try to cheer up the petite looking First Master but Naruto reached her first as he squatted down so he could place a hand on her shoulder.

"You don't have to apologize. You being you is one of my favorite things about you. I like that you can express yourself freely." Naruto told her warmly as he gave her a soft smile that made Mavis cheeks turn completely red as she looked at the floor trying to get her blush under control.

'It's been over 7 years since we talked and I have reverted back to a schoolgirl in love phrase! This is so embarrassing!' Mavis thought while Naruto seemed to be just enjoying seeing Mavis again.

Mavis took a deep breath before she leapt up and threw herself into Naruto's arms and rested her face into his chest. She buried her face into his chest and took several quick but deep breaths of his scent as she to try to memorize his scent again.

Naruto grunted in surprise not expecting Mavis to be so affectionate again but he just smiled enjoying her small body against his. He closed his eyes and rested his chin against the top of her head as her sweet scent wafted into his nose due to the close proximity.

Everyone jaws dropped including Makarov as they watched the two blondes share a very tight hug as if they were reuniting after a life time apart. Lucy looked over at Mira and Erza who seemed to be just as flabbergasted as she was.

'Am I suppose to feel jealous? I know Master Mavis lived like a long time ago but she seems so young but speaks so wisely… I can't tell what kind of hug that is. Is it some sort of childhood friend hug, pseudo family hug or a hug like two people in love are sharing? This is so confusing especially because I am not sure what my feelings for Naruto is!' Lucy thought in confusion as she was just wide eyed at the display.

"I missed you so much… Naruto…" Mavis admitted freely as she just kept her eyes closed and her slim arms wrapped around Naruto's waist.

"…. I missed you too… Mavis…" Naruto replied back affectionately as he kept his grip on her smaller body just as tight.

They didn't even seem to notice the rest of the guild gaping at them but unseen to everyone Wendy surprised look appeared to be a smirk just for a moment before her cute expression appeared on her face again.

'Oh Sensei… You really are something else.' Wendy mused silently.

Unfortunately, there was always one person who couldn't keep their mouth shut and that person was Elfman.

"I am sorry if this not very manly but can someone explain to me what is happening here?!" Elfman screamed at the top of his lungs.

This made Mavis and Naruto release each other from their embrace but Naruto notably kept hold of her hand making Mavis look rather happy.

"Elfman Nii-Chan! Read the room! That was a sweet moment and you ruined it!" Lisanna complained as Elfman rubbed his head in embarrassment but then cowered when Mira sent him a demonic glare.

"Elfman… Maybe we need some sibling time to talk?" Mira asked sweetly but her smile was anything but kind.

Elfman got on his hands and knees as he looked out of his mind afraid.

"I will be good! I promise Nee-chan! We do not need to have any more of those special talks!" Elfman begged as Mira glared down at him.

"Um… Are we interrupting anything?" Naruto asked awkwardly as Mira blinked and seemed to revert back to her nice self.

"Ara Ara. Sorry about that. I might have overreacted Elfman!" Mira giggled as the guild inched away from the beautiful model.

"Let me help you up Elfman." Mira told him cheerfully as she picked up the bigger looking Elfman onto his feet with one hand and notably ease.

"Hehe… That is alright Nee-chan…" Elfman whimpered as he looked nervously at Lisanna who gave him a look of pity.

"You should try to keep you voice down occasionally. If I didn't put an Enchantment on the forest to filter out sound then Lamia Scale and Ichiya would have been ran back here at the loud noise. They cannot perceive Mavis-chan but they can hear us without my Enchantment." Naruto reminded him kindly as Elfman nodded his head several times rapidly.

Makarov coughed as everyone turned back to him as he pointed at Mavis and Naruto or rather their joined hands.

"I am sorry First Master and Naruto but I must ask what exactly your relationship is. The letter for Mavis-sama didn't specify except that Naruto could be trusted as much as her for the sake of the guild." Makarov asked awkwardly but with a serious look.

Several woman including Lucy, Mira and Erza noticed Mavis blushing slightly as she looked down and avoided everyone eyes.

'So, another woman is interested in Naruto-kun… Sigh… I would be mad but at this point I can't really blame them for falling in love with him. He really has everything a girl would want.' Mira thought mentally sighing but smiling like usual.

Naruto put a hand under his chin while he kept the other one wrapped in Mavis's smaller one.

"Hmm… I won't try to make assumptions on what Mavis-chan thinks of me." Naruto stated firmly as Mavis shuffled her feet nervously.

"For me…. If there is one person, I owe everything to. Its Mavis-chan. She gave me a home when I travelled alone. All my fun experiences including meeting everyone here in Fairy Tail and my friends from other guilds all happened because I met Mavis-chan that day. For all I know I could have ended up in the wasteland and picked up by a Dark Guild going through that one-way portal to Earthland." Naruto declared as he stared intently at Mavis who still blushing but she shook her head.

"I know you. Even if you had met a dark guild first, I know you would have never joined their activities. You are genuinely a good person and you would still made good choices if you didn't join Fairy Tail." Mavis insisted as she gave him a brief but warm hug to show her trust in him.

Naruto closed his eyes but had a pleased smile at her trust in him.

'I wonder about that…' Naruto thought but decided not to comment on the possible what if he didn't join Fairy Tail or rather if he hadn't met Mavis first.

'I wouldn't trade this life for any other possible version of myself. This is where I belong.' Naruto silently declared.

"Hahaha! Even if Naruto didn't join Fairy Tail if he is still the guy has been then I know we would have been friends even if we weren't in the same guild!" Natsu added loudly with a huge grin as the rest of the guild put their left arm up in salute making Naruto open his eyes.

"You guys…" Naruto stated quietly as he felt his eyes water ever so slightly feeling rather touched at the guild's friendship and loyalty.

"That's right! However, Sensei is my sensei and no other guild gets him! I will not allow anyone to swoop him up from me!" Wendy boldy declared as her warm brown eyes seemed to shine with determination and Sky Dragon slayer magic seemed to flow out of her body.

Everyone was shocked at the quiet and cute Wendy declaring rather loudly that Naruto was hers. Naruto however seemed pleased as he had a grin on his face.

"Uh Wendy-chan? Are you okay? You are usually not this bold." Lucy asked her younger teammate with surprise and concern.

"Huh…?" Wendy asked as she blinked before she seemed to notice everyone looking down at her with concern.

"Eeep! Sorry! I didn't mean to shout!" Wendy whimpered as all her confidence seemed to vanish in the next moment.

"Sheesh again Wendy keeps losing her confidence whenever she is put on the spot." Carla sighed as Wendy started to wave off people asking if she was okay.

"Haha its nice that Wendy will never change!" Happy added cheerfully as Lucy and Erza began to fawn over their younger teammate again.

Naruto just laughed while Mavis gave the younger looking girl a curious look. Naruto reluctantly pulled his hand out of Mavis's hand. Mavis looked disappointed and looked ready to grab his hand again but she held back with a frown.

"Um… Mavis-sama?" Erza asked nervously seemingly not quite comfortable referring to Mavis in a causal setting.

"Yes Erza? Is something the matter?" Mavis asked cheerfully seemingly perfect at ease.

"Will you be okay when we leave the island? I feel bad for leaving so soon but we do need to go back to Magnolia Town at some point. I am not sure when the next time we will be allowed to come back to the island." Erza asked sadly as she felt bad leaving the petite First Master alone.

'Especially as none of us even knew she was here before. It seemed only Master and Naruto had any idea so Master Mavis probably only had Naruto for company in recent years.

"Oh right… We are leaving soon." Lucy said with a guilty expression shared with the rest of the guild.

"We will try to schedule time to visit again soon! We promise!" Mira added along with her siblings.

"Huh excuse me? What are you talking about?" Mavis asked looking confused at the guilty expressions from the current generation of Fairy Tail.

Naruto looked between Mavis and the guild before a light bulb appeared to light up in his head. He placed his fist into his palm in realization.

"Ah I see. Mavis-chan they are under the impression you cannot leave the island due to being a ghost or rather Thought Projection." Naruto explained as Mavis had an 'ah' face.

The guild looked confused at Naruto's statement.

"Wait Master Mavis is not bound to this island? Isn't that how ghosts are suppose to be? Tied down to a place of regret?" Levy asked in astonishment.

Both Naruto and Mavis shared a look and gave the rest if the guild a comically dry look.

"Uh… Maybe in a movie or play? That isn't how it works for Mavis-chan. She can freely leave or enter Tenrou Island at will. Matter of fact she can fly so there really isn't anyway she can't go." Naruto explained mentally shaking his head at the absurd idea of Mavis 'haunting' Tenrou Island.

'Sheesh I cannot believe that people actually thought Mavis-chan haunts this island out of some sort of last regret or something.'. Naruto sighed.

Everyone else -besides Makarov who whistled and looked away- looked rather sheepish for thinking the same thing as Levy did.

"Oh… Sorry about that Mavis-sama…" Wendy apologized sadly as she hung her head in shame and looked at the brink of tears.

"Wendy! Why are you apologizing? You didn't even say anything!" Carla asked in astonishment as her partner seemed to most affected by the misunderstanding.

Naruto instantly dashed forward and brought his student into his arms and while patting her on the back.

"Eep Sensei! You got to warn me before you do that!" Wendy complained as she got flustered again turning her face red as her head was resting onto Naruto's shoulder.

"I can't help it! You are just the most adorable person I have ever met! How could I just stand them and let you be sad? I would be the worst sensei if I let my student cry!" Naruto exclaimed as he just grinned as Wendy half heartedly struggled against his grip.

Mavis hovered over looking at Wendy with interest before she tapped her chin. Her eyes looked between Naruto and Wendy before a look of recognition as she tapped her palm against her other open palm.

'Ah so this is Wendy-chan. It all makes sense now. So, this is the student you mentioned before. Despite what everyone thinks I don't actually listen to every conversation that happened during that incident several years ago.' Mavis thought before she smiled cheerfully.

"It is quite all right. I suppose it is a common misconception about the myth of ghosts. If anything, it is partly my fault for not reaching out to the guild during any of the time I could have in the past." Mavis explained calmly as she gave a calming wave to the guild who let out of a collective sigh of relief.

After a few moments Naruto let go of Wendy who had stopped struggling and looked like she enjoying the hug abit too much at least in the eyes of Lucy who was pouting before shaking her head.

Makarov coughed as Mavis turned to him. They both had serious expressions as Makarov crossed his arms.

"First Master. Will you be joining us on the ride back to Magnolia Town? I would never force you of course but I think it would be nice if the rest of the guild gets to meet the First Master and know that she is watching over the guild even now." Makarov asked warmly as Mavis closed her eyes in thought.

"Yeah! The others would love to meet you! You are so much nicer than the other Master… I mean… Sorry guys…." Bickslow apologized as the mood of the guild soured thinking of the fallen Master Precht who turned into Master Hades their enemy.

"That guy… I still cannot believe at one point was a founder and the second master of Fairy Tail!" Natsu hissed along with a majority of the guild.

Mavis put her head in shame as she been the one to nominate Precht as her successor before Naruto placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I am sorry for the trouble Precht… No Hades has done. If only I hadn't picked him as my successor then he would unlikely have been able to trouble you here of all places." Mavis apologized sadly as the guild looked alarmed and tried to assure her it was not her fault.

"No matter what he has done it is not on your Mavis-chan. He made his choices and his legacy will be one of shame in the eyes of Fairy Tail." Naruto assured her firmly as Mavis looked up at Naruto with a watery smile.

They shared a knowing if not somewhat sad look.

'If it wasn't for Precht experiments on my nearly dead body then I wouldn't even be here now… I wouldn't have been able to see this next generation of Fairy Tail and most importantly I would not have been able to meet Naruto…' Mavis thought with the latter making her heart throb and ache.

'Hades… The one silver lining I can find for your legacy is that because of you I found Mavis and later Fairy Tail. So, from the bottom of heart despite whatever you have done please rest in peace.' Naruto silently prayed as he closed his eyes in remembrance for just a moment.

"That's right! Hades is a scumbag who attacked our island, hurt our guild members and even tarnished your name and the name of our guild! He is nothing like you Master Mavis!" Gray exclaimed as Juvia nodded but notably in a serious expression showing she agreed with his words and not just because he was Gray.

Mavis smiled when she saw the rest of the guild look at her with admiration even as she had admitted she was the one who picked Precht who would become Hades.

"Thank you Fairy Tail. I will consider going to the guild with you. Despite it being many years since I have been in the guild hall it still has many fond memories for me. The guild hall represents the hope of Fairy Tail or at least that is how I saw it." Mavis admitted fondly getting loud cheers of agreement from the guild.

'Hmm not a lie. She hasn't entered the hall since then but little do they know that she entered Magnolia Town during that Changeling incident. She never entered the Guild Hall but she was in Magnolia Town.' Naruto thought with a smirk remembering the incident from the Shadow Clone memories.

Lucy smiled before her face seemed to turn pale getting a concerned look from Levy who was her best friend (at least outside of her team) from the guild.

"Lu-chan? Is something wrong?" Levy asked in concern.

Natsu turned around and tilted his head.

"Are you hungry? You haven't eaten in 7 years so its understandable if your stomach is empty." Natsu asked in a surprisingly empathetic tone but Happy teasing grin ruined any chance of Lucy taking it a kind way.

"Yeah, Lucy is constantly eating! She is kinda like a pig in that way." Happy teased as he flew away from Lucy attempts to grab and or strangle him.

"You are calling ME a pig?! You should see you and Natsu eating habits! If anyone is a pig its your too! I am a sophisticated lady and eat with perfect manners!" Lucy retorted angrily as she leapt after Happy.

This predictably had the effect of having her large breasts bouncing inside of her shirt. While Makarov, Bickslow and Gildarts openly had heart eyes at the pretty blonde bouncing Gray and Elfman were glared by certain girls for blushing.

'How frightening. For someone whose magic power is on the lower tier at least compared to people like Natsu-san, Lucy-san is frightening in another way.' Freed thought with a shudder.

Evergreen and Bickslow caught Freed's reaction and sighed.

'If Freed wants the rumours of him being afraid of women to go away, he has to be at least able to avoid shuddering when something like this happens.' Bickslow thought with pity.

Erza coughed getting Happy and Lucy to shudder in fear as they returned back to the spot by instinct.

"Okay that is enough. Lucy what are you worried about?" Erza asked softly but Lucy notably was still uncomfortable before shaking her head.

"Master. I think its safe to say a bulk of Fairy Tail strength is here on Tenrou Island correct?" Lucy asked seriously as Makarov blinked.

"I would say so. All of all S-class wizards even including Gildarts and…. Laxus are on the island. Along with the perspective S-class candidates." Makarov acknowledged notably being rather stiff and hesitate when he said Laxus name. Laxus flinched but did not look away from Makarov's tone.

"So if we are all here and were locked away for 7 years then what happened to the guild that was left behind? I mean we are talking about the B-team being left in charge of the guild for 7 years!" Lucy exclaimed.

"…. Let's get back to the guild!" Makarov declared urgently with his arm raised to the air.

"Yes sir!" Everyone shouted with urgency as they seemed to have just realized the implications of Lucy's words.

Naruto ran first with Mavis looking worried as she floated alongside Naruto. Soon the rest of the guild that was on Tenrou Island ran after them towards the boat that had Lamia Scale and Ichiya. AN5: Laxus looked hesitant to follow before Gildarts patted him on the shoulder.

"Hey. Makarov might be stern but he is not cruel. You of all people understand why he isn't welcoming you back with open arms. Don't worry about what anyone else says when you come home. If anyone has anything has something to say we can have words with them together." Gildarts assured him with a fatherly smile as they ran together to the boat.

"Thanks Gildarts." Laxus replied with a small smile as he let himself forget he was still banished from Fairy Tail for just a moment.

Naruto whistled as his two swords Tessaiga and Tenseiga the two swords that were made from Dragon Fangs. With the former being able to channel Sky Dragon magic and the latter Lightning Dragon magic. They soon flew over from further away from Tenrou Island and arrived back onto their sheaths and Naruto spun them in the air to wrap them on his hip. Naruto took a last look towards Tenrou Island before nodding as he ran with the guild towards the boats.

The group soon arrived at the boats with the guild leaving some room around Naruto since Mavis was next to him but would not be able to be seen or touched by the people outside the guild. Sherry was talking to Lyon while Ichiya was moping. When they saw the group arrive Ichiya looked ready to pounce on Erza again but then he whimpered when he saw Erza give him the death glare.

'Gotta, say I don't really blame Ichiya for backing off. If there is one thing every guy in any universe knows is that an angry woman is someone to fear.' Naruto thought sympathetically.

"Sheesh! You said a few minutes but it feels like it was forever! You know we are doing you guys a favour right?" Sherry whined dramatically as several Fairy Tail members frowned at the busty pink haired woman.

Lyon patted her on the shoulder as he gave a chuckle.

"Now Sherry. For these guys they must still be in shock. They were just attacked by Acnologia and then 7 years passed for them in an instant without them realizing it. We must be empathetic to them as they are our friends and I am sure if it happened to our guild, they would be kind to us." Lyon chastised his guildmate who frowned but nodded.

"You're right. Sorry for my tone. I forgot how traumatizing this must have ben for you all. Are you finished so we can drop you off at Magnolia Town?" Sherry asked in a much nicer tone.

Makarov gave a quick bow on behalf of the guild.

"Thank you for your considerations. We just had to finish some Guild business before we left Tenrou Island so forgive us for taking so long. Now let us go to Magnolia Town!" Makarov declared as everyone quickly ran to the boat and spread out.

In one group Juvia was flustered when Lyon showed an interest in her much to Gray's annoyance who attempted to keep Lyon away from Juvia 'due to not being in the same guild'. However, Lyon seemed to be rather enamoured with the Water Mage much to her embarrassment.

The Thunder Legion were gathered around Laxus who had a small smile as he was around his close friends again. Wendy due to her short statue was just barely over the railings was smiling hugely as she seemed to enjoying riding in the boat. Lucy and Erza smirked when they saw on the opposite spectrum Natsu was looking like he was about to die due to motion sickness with Happy just patting him rather sympathetically.

The Strauss siblings were sitting at a table that Naruto had summoned for them using Requip as they chatted with Mira notably watching Naruto out the corner of her eyes with a look of longing ever as she happily chatted with her siblings.

Gajeel appeared to be arguing with Lyon on seemingly the lack of Iron scraps around for him to chew on with Pantherlily in his small form looking rather stoic to the conversation. Cana was trying to avoid Gildarts glomping who looked comically put off his grown-up girl was not interested in cuddling like she was a child anymore. Makarov was just looking rather cheerful as he took a slug of a beer from a bottle.

Levy was looking through a massive book with her focus squarely on the text as she flipped through the pages with her eyes dashing from page to page rapidly.

Meanwhile Naruto was at the helm of the ship looking at the vast sky with the wind blowing into his spikey hair. Unseen to the non Fairy Tail members Mavis was smiling widely as she standing next to Naruto swaying on her bare feet.

"This is so relaxing! It's been so long since I have been on a boat!" Mavis cheered raising her arms into the air.

"If you want, we can go a boat ride sometime. I do have a ship that is mine after all. Just say the word and the sea is ours." Naruto mentioned as Mavis instantly blushed and swayed on her feet nervously.

"Sheesh… When you say things like that…" Mavis whined getting a chuckle from Naruto as he continued to look into the clear sky..

"…. This reminds me of the time before Fairy Tail. When Yuri, Warrod and even Precht came to Tenrou Island and we had our first adventure together. Those times were so simply but it seemed like life had infinite adventures ahead." Mavis noted with a soft expression as Naruto and her let Zera be unspoken between them.

"I understand. I wonder how the rest of the guild will react to seeing you? Or maybe it will be interesting to see how they have grown. For us it's been less then an hour but for them its been 7 years keeping the guild alive without us." Naruto remarked with a tone of sorrow which made Mavis look like she wanted to give him another hug but she pulled back.

'It wouldn't be right to do that in front of Lamia Scale especially as they couldn't see what was happening.' Mavis decided as she settled for just giving him a sad look.

"Naruto…. You…" Mavis trailed off seemingly not knowing what to say to Naruto who just sighed.

"I know…. Mavis… I know." Naruto just replied as they sent the rest of the time looking into the clouds and letting the wind blow against them.

AN2: Before people cry out about ripples. This is PRECISELY why I did the time skip. I did not want to go over every inch of the Tenrou Island S-class exams and explain exactly what happened differently between my story and canon. I will make mentions of what happened and that is enough context.

AN3: I am not sure if in canon Mavis's Thought Projection actually had a scent (especially as its essentially her 'soul' outside of her body). In my story she does have a scent but its not nearly as potent as a living person so she can only be 'smelled' when she is in close range and you need to be something like a Dragon Slayer to be able to smell her. Also, its possible she can hide her Prescence if she wanted to but obviously she is not hiding at the moment.

AN4: Mavis is confirming even with the Fairy Glitter tattoo that Cana's usage on Tenrou Island was still incomplete and that it was only a temporary usage.

AN5: Yes I also realize this was not the party that went to get the Tenrou Group in canon. It is called a ripple. I thought it would be more dramatic if the entire 'remaining' Fairy Tail members saw them in the guild hall next chapter.
